Jayko has always been willing to talk. But he couldn't. Not with Lorethos dead. It's his family's duty to protect others so that they may live another day. With Lorethos dead, he can only feel as though he failed. And with failure comes anger. He pounded his hand on the desk in his room, trying to vent his anger. But he realized that nothing can bring him back. Redemption will have to come another time. He sat down on his bed, head low and full of pure sadness. "Forgive me ancestors, for I have failed." Then a voice came into his head, lifting his spirits by saying "He died an honorable death. You may not have knew him nor did he know you. But his memory will live on. His legacy still stands with his family. You didn't fail." Jayko could only smile at that, realizing Lorethos can never be truly dead if his legacy stands proud. "May the creator make you his right-hand, Lorethos."

Most nobles wouldn't go out of their way to help the "inferiors". But for us, it's a duty and strategic move in and of itself - Nexus Azura *There's a small scroll hanging on the notice board in the League's smaller fort* Most of you have seen me. But few truly know me. My name is Jayko Lokomo Azura II of the Azura bloodline. I am the last of my bloodline. I suppose that the world should know my story lest I die without leaving a legacy for my family. I have been frowned upon for comparing myself to others with well-above higher statuses than me. But they see me as nothing more than a commoner, and I am much more than that. Family History Nexus Azura (C?-C83) The Azura Family has been around for over 1000 years. It started in the year 448 with the sudden rise of a noble named Nexus Praetoria Jonathon Wallus Azura. His origin is unknown although I have inferred that he was approximately 31 when he started writing in the Codex Nexus, the family book passed down from generation to generation. From then on, each event is written in Codex Years. They are the same length as elven years, except that they begin on the day I can also infer that he was given war cleric abilities from the Creator himself, the reason of which I shall explain later. Nexus was already a noble as of Codex Year 0 (or C0). As of C1, he wrote down the values that define the Azura Qualities. They are: 1. As an Azura, it is your duty to protect all that is pure. 2. We are a symbol of Hope. Treat your people with kindness and benevolence, for that is one way of keeping peace. If the old man is having trouble carrying things, the young lass is being abused, or the boy is being pushed around, help them all. 3. It is important that one is always humble. 4. War is a last resort. 5. When making decisions, the people come first. Every story about Nexus emphasized his willingness to help others. One story even said that he left the battlefield to help a small girl find her parents and escape to safety. He never left anyone behind and only killed when it was necessary. Other stories furthered his difference from other nobles. He treated women as actual human beings, a tradition long held to this day. Nexus Azura was a truly noble man, creating many firsts and set the example for the rest of my family. His greatest first was being one of the "Noble Three" in Azuran History. When he died, he was given a king's funeral by his people, sending him on a boat down a river toward the sunset. Every person who knew about him admired his sense of chivalry and loyalty to them. Lokomo Azura, The Second of the Noble Three (C500-C613) Lokomo Azura carried a tradition that every Azura had to have a different profession. As a descendent of Nexus, he, like every Azura in history, had a connection to light magic. However, he was the only person in Azuran History to be able to use other forms of magic. When he became 70 years old, he became blind and was forced to use a staff to walk. During then, he trained to become a far seer and was quite a good one at that. Some time between C581 and C585, he became a prophet. Despite all my research into this, it's unknown how he gained this ability. He always wore white robes and carried a simple Oak staff. His farseeing ability allowed him to converse with spirits which in turn gave him stories that he would tell his children, their children, and his great-grandchildren. He foretold the coming of the Millennium Child, with the prophecy being as such: A child shall be born to one, but raised by another. He will understand the past, but struggle with the future. Denied his birthright, he will strive to prove himself. He will embody all that we stand for. He will be the last hope. But he will establish a new hope. Because of this, there will be a dawn of a new day. Let the Hope we guard light his path. For the Mark will only appear when he comes of age on the day of the millennium - Lokomo Azura This prophecy is what every Azura dreamed to be a part of. I will go more in depth on the prophecy later. Lokomo's death is the most heartwarming story in the Codex Nexus. His son, Jayko Lokomo I, stated: As he sees the sunset, he stands upon the mountaintop. With a mere tap of his staff on the ground, I watched as he slowly turned to dust. As I watched in both sadness and wonder, he turned to smile at me, with his last words being "From the light we have come and to the light we shall go". He disappeared, with only his staff staying there, perfectly balanced on the ground. Jayko Lokomo Azura II, The Third of the Noble Three (C983-Present) Is it right to call myself the Third of the Noble Three? I didn't give myself that name. Rather, it was my adoptive mother, who knew the Azuran Prophecy. No Azura has had a birthmark showing the family colors other than Nexus. He was born before the prophecy was stated so he's not applicable. I, however, am the Millennium Child, and I can prove it: A child shall be born to one, but raised in another. - This can be translated in two ways. I was born to the Azuras but I was raised by the Wallus Family in Malinor. The other possible translation is that I was born to nobility but raised as a commoner. He will understand the past, but struggle with the future - I have memorized all of the history of Anthos, Asulon, and Aegis. I understand what this prophecy means. But I can't understand what my future is. As the last of my family and bloodline, I struggle to know what will happen to me. Denied his birthright, he will strive to prove himself - I have been denied nobility status despite my heritage. This is the driving force behind my willingness to prove myself. He will embody all that we stand for. He will be the last hope. - Despite being raised in a different culture, I still respect my ancestors and follow every tradition they have had. I am the last hope as my fate decides the fate of the Azura bloodline. I die without and heir and my bloodline is extinguished. But he will establish a new hope. - Despite all odds, I have survived. I am still alive and this is reason to shed more hope on my bloodline's survival. And because of this, there will be a dawn of a new day. - This is the one line that stumps me, as "dawn of a new day" can have several meanings. I won't keep you longer as I'm running out of parchment. For the Mark will only appear when he comes of age on the day of the millennium. - My coming-of-age marked the 1000th year the Azura bloodline has survived. Only then did a mark the exact shape of the Azura emblem appear. This is definitive proof that I am the Millennium Child. Culture The Azuras always followed a strict sense of loyalty, honor, duty, empathy, and love. A broken promise is a reason to be shunned. Failure to defend others to the best of your abilities was another reason. Even failure to help others was a reason. We also follow a tradition that women, although men are still dominant, are not to be trophies. Their decisions are put to consideration. The child that gets the birthright of the family isn't the oldest, but rather who displays the greatest understanding of our values. We can be rebellious, although we must retain some degree of obedience to superiors. We are to respect other cultures and communicate with them using their ways of it. Being an Azura was phenominal as the bloodline has lasted for nearly a millennium (at the time of Jayko’s birth). His birth was celebrated for 1 week before he was named after his ancestor, a prophet known as Jayko Lokomo Azura I. When Jayko turned 2 months old, 3 assassins came to his house with the sole purpose of ending the Azura bloodline. Harold, realizing that, told Anathela and Jayko to run while he holds them off. Anathela didn’t make it far, as one of the assassins got past Harold and shot Anathela in the back as she hid Jayko in a nearby bush. He cried as he saw his mother fall before him. The next morning, Jacoba and Yanessa Wallus, who were Elven historians from Malinor, found him. They knew who he was but decided to keep his lineage a secret. Jayko was considered an outcast by his peers. In order to gain their respect, Jayko worked hard, both physically and in his studies. At the age of 14, he memorized Ancient Elven due to his adoptive parents’ studies in it. Not only did Jayko complete school with honors, he bested his peers with his agility, stealth, martial arts, and swordplay. During his coming-of-age at 17 (which also marked the day the Azura Bloodline lasted a full millennium in known Azura history), Jacoba and Anathela gave him the Codex Nexus, which was with him whan they found him. They also explained his lineage. They then gave him some money and let him make his own destiny. The first thing Jayko wanted to do was to find the tomb of his ancestor, Nexus Azura. According to the Codex Nexus, Nexus was such a famous figure that every time a new land was discovered, his coffin was moved there and a new tomb was created. After a week of searching, Jayko eventually found the tomb in the mountainside. In there, he found 2 things, which every Azura held at least once in their life: Nexus Azura’s silver gauntlets and the Azura Family Cane (see description in Character Description). Yet despite everything he saw drawn in that tomb and written in the Codex Nexus, Jayko never found out what the book calls "the most sacred and duties". When he turned 19, he came back home to find that Jacoba became severely ill. While he wasn't carrying any contagious diseases, he was close to death. Knowing that, Jacoba told Jayko "Take care of Yanessa for me. And take care of the life around you, for it is something truly remarkable and precious. Protect that life for me, son. That is all I ask for." Upon saying yes, Jacoba said his last words, which Jayko keeps in his heart every day: "A strong man stands up for himself. A stronger man stands up for others. Be the stronger man." When Jayko heard those words, he understood what truly defined the Azura family's sacred duty: To sacrifice yourself for the sake of others. Jayko has lived that way ever since, helping others and lending his skills to those that need it. Today, Jayko is searching for a place to call home and a job, although he won't hesitate to go out of his way to help others in need. What are they like (personality)?: He’s responsible and will help anyone he can with the best of his abilities. He’s rather calm but doesn’t like failure. He’s sarcastic but always has some level of seriousness. He also isn’t afraid to speak what he believes in. Since he was raised by elves, he stays true to one of their customs by hailing the higher class elves. While he does get overconfident in his skills, he always shows some degree of caution, making sure that he chooses the best course of action (although it sometimes backfires despite his luck). In combat, he refuses to kill his opponent(s) unless absolutely necessary. What are their ambitions?: 1. He wants to prove his worth to his ancestors. 2. He wants to bring the being (or beings) who killed his real family to justice. 3. To fulfill Jacoba's request. Do they have any special skills?: 1. He’s put his body in near-peak physical conditions, with extraordinary agility, stealth, and better than average sight/hearing. He's also a good swordsman and an expert martial artist (due to his training as a child) 2. He possesses extraordinary luck, having survived against all odds. 3. Although he isn’t muscular, his wiry body can still take quite a beating before he submits. What are their weaknesses?: 1. People/Beings with skills equal and greater than Jayko’s can beat him (although Jayko’s luck somewhat counters it). 2. His luck can be a curse at times. 3. He’s overconfident in his abilities and usually ends up with at least one injure (albeit usually somewhere between a major injury and a minor one) Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color: Hazel (Greenish-Brown) Height: 6’5” Weight: 210 pounds Skin: Fair Attire: Jayko wears his adoptive father’s green camouflage shirt and black vest (which Jayko placed the Azura Family symbol on). When Jayko was 2 months old, his parents were murdered in a fire that burned down the house. Jayko miraculously survived by hiding in an iron chest with some holes dented in the side. After the fire, he was found the Elf family of Jacoba and Yanessa Wallus, who were Elven historians who lived in the city of Malinor. He was raised there and was considered an outcast by his peers. During this time, Jayko trained himself to become worthy by improving his agility, stealth, and fighting. He eventually bested his peers and gained some respect as well. His tests didn't interfere in his studies as he also completed school with honors. Upon his coming-of-age on his 17th birthday, his parents told him where he was really from and gave him the Codex Nexus, which was with him in the chest he was in all those years ago. Upon reading the book, Jayko found a surprising and disturbing truth: His family was the last know Ascended (as far as he knew). He was in disbelief himself as he learned in his studies that the Ascended were "virtually gone" back when Aegis was populated. After a year, he sought out the Azura Tomb, which contained the body of Nexus Azura, the first Azura mentioned in the book (who lived 1000 years ago). Upon finding the tomb, which was in the side of a mountain covered in boulders. The writing used was a slightly altered version of the language used today. The wall basically said that yes the Azura bloodline is the last of the Ascended (although it's mainly human now due to marriages that have happened in the last millennium) and that they chose to be left behind with the sole duty of protecting those who can't protect themselves. Jayko also found the Azura Cane, a scepter which was proof itself of being an Azura. He also took Nexus's silver gauntlets, which he tries to keep in good condition. Despite everything he learned, Jayko accepted his heritage and duty, but made a vow to keep it a secret and to not make his lineage known. Soon after the discovery, he received word that his adoptive parents were killed. Again, it was a fire but the elves at Mallinor don't know how it started. All they knew was that it wasn't an accident and that someone wanted them dead. Years later, Jayko is still alive, on the lookout for anything that can lead him to the people that killed both of his families. What are they like (personality)?: He's very caring and follows a "No Killing" rule although, rarely, exceptions are made. Those exceptions come from him facing someone who always truly evil. He prefers to outsmart and outmaneuver his opponent with as little bloodshed as possible. He's easy going and is willing to help others out. What are their ambitions?: He wants to prove himself worthy of not only being an Ascended but also worthy of the family name. He also wants to avenge the deaths of both his adoptive and real parents. Do they have any special skills?: He's agile, stealthy, a very good swordsman and tactician, and has better than average hearing and sight than most races (although his abilities never beat that of the Elves). He also possesses extraordinary luck (he survived 2 assassination attempts (all planned by the same person although Jayko doesn't know it)). What are their weaknesses?: No matter how hard he tries, Jayko always falls to his knees when remembering the deaths of both his adoptive and real parents (He keeps saying that he could have saved his adoptive parents). He also has trouble beating opponents with skills equal and higher to his own. His "No Kill" rule also has a few downsides when it comes to characters that have a tendency of breaking out of jail. Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: Jayko has dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and fair skin. He usually wears a camouflage long-sleeved shirt and brown pants. He always wears his adoptive father's black vest which Jayko put the family symbol on. He also wears a messenger bag in which he carries the Azura Family Book (know as the Codex Nexus, which holds all the teachings, history, and prophecies of the Azura bloodline). He's around 6'5". He always carried his trusty sword, The Ender Sword, and his family cane, which is a gold-covered wooden scepter with a mysterious glowing stone at one end (which Jayko uses as a portable light source). He also wears Nexus's silver gauntlets. Anything else you want to say about them?: To avoid any attention to his ancestry, Jayko claims that he's fully human (which is believable only due to his physical body).
