Your View: Making A Successful Storyline

Kinda new, but my advice for a villain would be to certainly decentralize. Make certain regions have their own sub-villains, to serve the higher evil. That way the overall evil can still be a very local and very solvable problem, and the comman man can feel like he helped save the day by standing up to the Big Bad's thug. This may mean more work, certainly, but I think the payoff of having areas fight their own battles and their own villains. It'll bring together regions and give them a common goal. And if those people fail, and one of the Big Bad's henchmen survive, well...... -
Arceus looks at the strange man, cocking his head to one side. "I've seen my share of strange folk, but- AGH!" He pulls his sopping wet hood over his face, covering his blind eye, squinting in pain. "Bloody rain!" he grumbles as he moves off.

I've had some pretty messed up torture with some Orcs..... They tied a cactus to my..... "Tree" shall we say? It was awful...

Arceus tears down the flier, muttering angrily "I can't believe this.... I accepted that damned Graven's offer! And now, if this comes out, I'm dead too!" He then pockets the paper, looks that no one saw him, and slowly heads down the road.

Dude.... You just went full Tolkien! Looks awesome, I'll hopefully never have any use for it myself, but still, pretty cool!

Minecraft account name: bmc01 Age: 12 Time-zone: Eastern US Have I roleplayed before: Yes, I have played Dungeons and Dragons, though I was majorly the Dungeonmaster (The guy who runs the game) rather than a character. Have I played on other roleplaying servers: No Have you applied before now: No Where I heard about Lord Of the Craft: When I was searching for a minecraft RP Server, I found your youtube channel. What do I think the server will be like: A very in-depth, Role-playing experience, good for both new and old RPers to enjoy. Have I read and agreed to the rules: Yes. Favorite Rule/One I most agree with: Probably The one that says to not overly swear, as it keeps realism in the dialogue, rather than being "Oh Sh#t I F@cking Broke my God-D&mn Sword!" and it probably helps keep a calm atmosphere to often-traveled areas. Definitions: Roleplaying: The act of entering another character and doing what they would do in any given situation, usually with a group, and results in a sort of group storytelling. Metagaming: using information learned out-of-Character to do something in Character, such as watching a video online showing the site of a ruin, and your character traveling to the ruin to claim it without any prior knowledge or incentive to do so. Powergaming: Pre-defining the results of an action rather than letting the object of that action decide/help decide. Example: Bob The Warrior slices Frank The Archmage's throat, causing him to keel over and begin coughing blood. How it should be done: Bob The Warrior raises his blade in the direction of Frank The Archmage's throat, intending to cut his windpipe Frank The Archmage's throat is cut, and it almost punctures his windpipe, but the wound is not serious. Character: What is my character's name: Arceus Ironharte What is his race/sub-race: A Human Northerner. Gender: Male Age: 28 Brief History: Arceus was born into a fairly wealthy family, with roots extending back to Aegis. However, in the exploration of the Fringe, his family lost everything: They were intending to return to Anthos to gather what they had not brought with them to their new home, but instead they watched as it sunk beneath the waves of the tsunami. Arceus was 14 at the time (Not up to date on how long people have been in the fringe, can change age if needed) after that his family members slowly died off of diseases, bandits, monsters, etc. Arceus decided to look for work in the human capital, sending what money he could to his beleagured family. He took up work as a mercenary, having been aspairing to be a soldier in his youth. however, one day as he returned to his family's small home in the city's suburbs, he came across a gruesome scene: Every remaining member in his family was dead, killed in the night by roving monsters. Arceus buried the remains of his family, took the family emblem, a steel blade crossed over a red shield, and vowed to bring it to honor once more. What is he like: Impatiant, rather blunt and to-the-point, focused, but can be persuaded to change goals for a cause he deems good, suspicious of others, and isn't afraid to turn his back on objectives that will get him killed. His ambitions: At the moment Arceus has the death of his family at the back of his mind, quietly driving the majority of his actions. He hopes to bring honor to the name of Ironharte, even if it takes less than honerable means to get there. In a way he is fame-seeking, but for his entire family, not just himself. Does he have any special skills: He can quickly draw his blade, and is competent in a fight with both arms, though his left is slightly less accurate, and he learned Dwarven from a very young age, as his family's wealth came mainly from Dwarven metels smelted down into blades, and then sold to various armies and independant buyers. What are his weaknesses: He is easily drawn to drink, and habit that he hopes he can wear off, and generally is somewhat slow, being used to intimidating enemies rather than actually flanking them or other tactics What he looks like: He has fairly tanned skin, but still has the lightness typical to Northerners, unkempt dark brown hair, dark blue eyes, always wears a light set of cloth armor with light metal plating in crucial areas, and has a torn black cape that has been worn by the head of the Ironharte family for generations, but now is dusty and gray. Anything else I want to say about him: He has a tendancy to recite small stories to himself when he has nothing better to do, a strange sort of tribute to his mother, who would do the same to him when he was young. I'm a bit of a new player, but having a player-run Protag or lack of one seems like a good idea. less of a black-and-white, and allows for Protag's to have some.. questionable means to get things done, leading to a more realistic view of protag/antag
