A letter written with a clinical cursive is found tacked onto several archways of the buildings of officials across the city of Santegia, the vellum warmed from the sun's gleam. The corners of each copy are neatly folded into a triangle as if to indicate the reader to turn a page to view the manic sketches of the inventor, Derral Falkner. "To whom it may concern, I am worried for the future of my work and its place at Santegia. I create machines and devices, both standard and bespoke, and research to advance the field of movements and mechanics. This requires itself large devices and materials which cannot be fitted through the sole trapdoor and ladder provided to me - but which when fully installed will prove a tight squeeze in the space afforded to me. The solution I propose here will give me the space to perform my work in full, and enable the completion of the workshop's arrangement - which involves glassware, steelworking and contraptions that must be pre-built in pieces. I call it a... lift: a platform allowing the transfer of materials and devices along a vertical movement of pulleys. Such a lift will be external, as the arrangement of the workshop would not allow for its movements to fit inside. It would be placed on the face of the wall of the property (Derral's Workshop) towards the canal's lip. I have it visualised on this letter's reverse, so you may see. I hope you agree to this measure to be installed, to prove Santegia to truly be a city of makers and artisans - to allow my work to become. With all regards, Derral Falkner." ((Will add the sketch later - it's already done, promised!))

Menithrian the Provost places a handwritten appeal, on bleached vellum, across several major cities. His case of jitters is evident - the cursive is disjointed. An improvised seal adorns each copy of the parchment, along with his signature. (Your signature can be placed as a response to this post)

I voted no for a spawn tavern, or any other spawn roleplay function - because it detracts from the work of settlements to achieve often the same means - people will chill in spawn because it's more convenient, they are safe and the exposure to new players is the highest it gets. I suppose having a restored CT would be a nice project to get going.

Menithrian reads this on a notice, in waiting for an audience with the Magnate, at Ostwick. "So, it's true then. Out with the old, and in with the new. My concern is now how I enact this new." he would note in his memoirs. He took his cane, dizzied by the thought of such a destructive and also productive force reaching its end, and perched by the nearest step he could make his own seat.

! New - Single Use Donation Rewards !
moali125 replied to Daisy's topic in News & Announcements Archive
Race changes? Yes, please. Skill changes? Change up the ratios, make it extortionate in price.. the in-game economy's not been paid attention to with all this, clearly. The next announcement will soon be buying Minae for cash! In fact, no, my comments earlier don't do it justice. This is Pay-to-Win. Donation is meant to support a server's running costs, and provide non-gameplay changing perks in return: this completely changes the fabric of the server. If you guys want money so much, add a membership to the server! I wouldn't mind paying that. Instead, we have this: microtransations, like Minecraft roleplay is your take on Candy Crush. I am willing to pay a monthly membership to play LOTC, than to have a skimped roleplay experience because of this.- 77 replies

Absolutely. Hopefully, this will remove the stigma behind nations facing the prospect of stacks of diamonds to get protections on their lands, that they should have anyway. Of course, I speak for Salvus - where most our landmass stands unprotected, and selfishly so. +1

To me, like I've seen from others here, it's a matter of how land is used, rather than the land itself. I personally feel that had roleplay not clustered together along a Stone Road, then Athera would have been the map people had wanted it to become. The map itself was more than adequate, but it'd just been built wrongly. With that said, what canvas (us builder of nations) is provided better last long, to make the effort of building these environments of roleplay worthwhile. I'll say a good majority of my time at LOTC has been spent building, so it is quite irritating that I'm looking at potentially building two capitals (4.5 and 5.0) for Salvus, in a matter of months. A new - medium-sized - map is called for, as Athera has simply not worked out, how it was meant to. But, I'm not a great fan of this temp map prospect. TL:DR. 5.0, but not 4.5 - please.

The University [Recruiting Teachers] [Admitting Students]

Menithrian would comment "Enlightenment deserves a place to be harboured; an entire nation committed to its cause! Not to split the forces of thought throughout the realm, as they've been forced for centuries! If the Headmaster may take part in reception with me, I shall be most honoured to have them. I have a proposition for them."- 34 replies

On his leave, for his second ideological exile, Menithrian comes across a building of ornate nature in Provinci de Dimora ((residential district)) that wasn't a dwelling. Upon finding out the Clinic's existence, he quivers in fear of their tools! "More refined butchers, who happen to save lives at that," he quips to himself. "If ye 'ead to a Clinic, it's most like that something's gone awry.." he grimaces in a chilling fear, "yet, it's better we 'ave folk try and piece them back together, then leave 'em as detritus." He returns to the establishment, proud and grinning, then firmly nails on the following placard - he'd just had the carpenter do: "Proudly holder of The Salvian Warrant, for services of medicine and palliative care, since 1507."

[Revamped] The Salvian Peacekeepers
moali125 replied to Republic of Salvus's topic in Inactive Guilds
Menithrian, on the eve of his second ideological exile, leaves to hear of this comment, and smirks. "This be a question that could be answered with an entire book and a plethora of speeches, but I nay have the time or ink to produce such. So, make do with this, friend: Under Oren, Salvus would no longer be, for its independence, neutrality, peace and Enlightenment would be compromised. Then, it'd be another fledging shell to install a regiment, and hold yet another bloated House - vying to flap at its allies to gain a more favoured place in court. But, I respect humanity, and treat Orenians as cousins, all the same. I may not like what my family does, but they still be family; of humanity. I am blessed that Oren has given us the same respect in return; we are much more common than different." -
Menithrian grinned in joy as he found this parchment on the Stone Room's table, with the nib of a quill nearby. Along its neat address was a scribble beneath the line on Salvus - which brought a warm pride within him. "The Salvian Council will be sure to attend such a momentous occasion, along with a cohort of some of our Bards, in hope of absolute merriment and congruence." Menithrian then scrolls the parchment, with a firm press of the navy wax seal of the Council of the Republic, to keep the message in place. With a whistle that manages two tones at once, his hawk emerged, and dug its talons firmly at the edges of the parchment. "Careful there, boy. No creases this time." Menithrian says, handing raw meat to the creature. The hawk gawked, then sprung its hind feet forwards to leap into the air of the Grand Hall, and out through the Falcon hatches of the Castello's ridge.

I'll be sure to go on! -
"The architecture of a Republic may be a fine import... from the South to our Petrusian cousins North. Should I be considered, I shall have ye a fine place of worship within this Saint's Month." Menithrian nods curtly to himself, as he writes such a message on parchment and holds it in place with a single rusted nail.
-
Menithrian giggles.. "Another Duchy to make relation with."
-
Twiddles his thumbs and nods, "A typical auction house, or so they say. Menith approves."
-
Menithrian shrugs at the propaganda, as he continues on his ideological exile. Not quite the Renaissance he'd seek, but entertaining, nonetheless. "Decent effort.. the seal seems real enough..." he says, poking at the wax.

"Marna.. House Marna. Salut, to merit. May your new House have not just roof but chimney!"
-
Twidles his thumbs in anticipation as he mumbles to himself - his message inaudible to all others - "Agitators from within.. now what an interesting turn of events this be! I'll be sure to have a word with these 'Cappotelli' folk.. mayhaps I will make use of their valiant services." Menithrian scribbles in his diary, to rendezvous at Ambrossa at some point.

A Sun's Kiss - 10Th Of Suns Smile 1503
moali125 replied to cj_scout's topic in Athera Roleplay Archive
Menithrian softly rounds together a fist, then strokes the index with a thumb. His usual nods are slight here, and off rhythm. "The Kha' belong somewhere they're treated best... reading these terms, it seems we didn't give them enough. I say Salut, to the Kha', for finding a place they find respite in, and Viva Khalestine - for providing an embrace greater than our Republic has ability to." His nods speed up a little more, as if in reassurance, but a ting of disappointment can't be avoided. He hastens to write a quick note in his memorandum: "Place more flowers around gate area... and think up more Provinces for Citizen factions." He scratches his head, and then quickly scribbles the second part of the note, to replace it with: "ensure folk that the Salvian ways are best, and to be followed by all Citizens." -
Menithrian chuckles to himself as he finds the parchment slapped onto a totem of a distant inn in the Farlands. "Managed to even get 'ere," he mumbled to himself, eyes widened. A low, steady whistle has his new pet hawk dig his claws on the Consul's wrist, and he breathes in through in his teeth in discomfort. "Still got to train ye, Hawkie," he comments, stroking the birds neck in grace. Menithrian draws a quill and dabs it to his powder pouch then dabs the nib with his spit. He begins to churn out his interest on a torn parchment: I) Full Name: Menithrian II) Any existing ties, worth notice: Consul of the Republic and Chairman of its Hawkers' Club III) Place of origin: The Farlands IV) Intention of desired strand, of the trinity (Arts, music or literature) for specialism: Literature V) Current status of Citizenship (Salvian, or otherwise): Salvian VI) Reasoning in becoming of the Bards: It takes true understanding of your aims to lead with them, and an inherent love for anything cultured. VII) Potential projects you may aspire to do: Many, including a book on the ideology behind our Republic, bard tales, and prints on independent economism. VIII) Does Salvus represent peace, or war? Peace IX) Where is the Republic located, currently? The skirts of Embermoore, and the Forests of Adrallan: to the South. X) Which holds more heavier punishment: Racism or Anti-Enlightenment? Anti-Enlightenment XII) Which body holds highest power within the Republic? Inner Chamber (Council) of the Salvian Authorities. XII) How often may the Curator of the Bards be changed, and what does this coincide with? Every sixteen years, along with the overall Salvian Election period. OOC Section: I) Do you have Skype, for contact and general purposes? If so, what is your Skype name? Yes. moali125 II) Do you have any questions, thoughts or confusions about what the Bards are, or what they do: or even, just wanting to challenge its existence? Nope. Had a big hand in envisioning and creating it. I'm more here to answer absolutely anything to do with the Bards and the Republic, in fact. Let's make this awesome!

On his self-induced ideological exile, this was admittedly the first glint of hope for the Consul of the Republic of Salvus - that Enlightenment is not confined to his creation... its spread is seeing momentum. Encountering the tattered parchment, with scribbles of profanity defacing its title, Menithrian was hesitant to read on; but curiosity bore fruit. Knelt down, he clasped onto his leather mitts by his teeth, flailing about his face like a flag. He drew his parchment, as if it were a shield, and quill as if it were his sword, and wrote the following memorandum: "It has been near a year of wondering, where I'd near lost hope. A band of Enlightened donning themselves as 'The Equalists' prove much to me - an Intelligentsia exists past the confines of Fendrica. Their needs are to end the war, and bring a peace in its place... as I do. Actually, the Republic could do with them all - troops of our Ideological conquest. The Equalist Battalion of the Salvian Bards... they have a dedicated folk for 'growing and maintaining crops'; what a waste of thinkers! Nay, they must all think - we will give them their shelter, their food, their Minae, and their status. They give us their pure thought, as Bards. It is unfortunate that their current... arrangement suggests their freedom: they're set up as if they be a nation! Well, we have a Sentinel of our own, of our Republic's Peacekeepers. Our masons serve as ample 'Builders', whilst any well-read Salvian is a diplomat to the place. How I see it... The Equalists sound much like Salvians who haven't yet become so, in name! Now, to find their leader..." He closes his eyes for a while.. then - in frenzy - scribbles all over the profanity, to replace such insolence with his own message on the parchment: "Salvus is with you, M." He then hastens in clothing himself then walks away from the incident, toward the searing Farlands of the distance north.
