As soon as Venteros was able to hold a hammer, his father had him training to take over. Venteros picked it fairly quickly, but his heart was set for a different path. But nevertheless, he finished his training and joined his father in his smithy, causing the business to boom. Venteros, however, was not content with a life as a smith. He spent all his free time in the mines, be it mining, helping with the movement of ores, or just exploring the caves. He began slacking on his smithing work, spending more and more time in the caves. He eventually quit his father with dad in the smithy, and became a miner. One day he was in the mines, when the ground around him began to shake violently. Everyone began sprinting for the stairs out, and Venteros followed. They were all trained in what to do in the event of an earthquake, but this felt different. When he got to the surface, people were running to the docks, terror in their faces. Venteros was caught up in the swell of the crowd, carrying him to the docks. When he got to the docks he asked everyone what was happening, and he learned that there was a giant worm destroying Athera, and people were fleeing. Venteros immediately sprinted back out, towards his home, where his aging father lived alone. He didn't get far however, when the ground split before him, blocking his path. The ground began shaking even more violently, forcing Venteros to turn around towards the docks again. He searched frantically for his father, but could not find him. After years of traveling at sea, they eventually came aground at the land to be known as Vailor. Venteros spent months searching for his father, to no avail. Eventually he was informed that his house had collapsed, with his father still inside. I joined a couple days ago and am trying to dive into the community of the server, which has been hard since I've never actually roleplayed before (Any rp encounter is actually terrifying for me). Personality Traits: Venteros comes across as rude, sarcastic, and downright mean, but all that is cover to keep outsiders at bay. He is as distrustful of outsiders as any dwarf, being wary of them even after they have proven themselves to the elders. He is also the most loyal person you could hope for, willing to fight to the death for those he loves. He is also honest, kind, caring, and stubborn. Ambitions: He wishes to help as many people as he can, and believes he can achieve that by supplying materials to better the kingdom as a whole with his mining. Strengths/Talents: After years of mining and hammering Venteros is exceedingly strong. He has excellent navigation skills underground, due to his years of exploring. His hearing is better than the average dwarf's, able to find caves using near echolocation. Weaknesses/Inabilities: He is impatient, occasionally destroying minerals or gems in his rush to mine them. His sharp tongue and sarcasm wins him more enemies than friends, along with a general distrust for everyone. Despises dwarves of age who have shaved their beards, avoiding them at all costs, and cutting ties with anyone who does so. Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Venteros is 4'10" 240 lbs of pure muscle that wouldn't hurt a fly. He very rarely wears shirts, choosing to expose his torso to the elements, only wearing one when forced to, but he does wear simple trousers that are a bit too worn to wear. He has pale skin, caused from never seeing light and spending the majority of his time in dark caves. Beneath his bushy eyebrows are his brown eyes, above his respectable beard, his most prized possession, which he keeps tied at the end with metal bands.
