  1. Waldemar penned a quick letter to the baron who denounced his former liege.

    To the Baron Tyrathian Enthelor,

While I may have enjoyed crossing swords with you prior, I do reckon I will be enjoying clanking mugs of ale more. If you travel to Helena, I would like to share one and discuss the prior battles.

((These smug execution threads have gotten kinda old and stale tbh. This is like the 7th or 8th one by now.))

Daisy Applefoot sighs as bigguns kill each other again.

“They will run out of men to be executed. Guess we can stop when they start sending their children at us.” Waldemar spoke skywards, towards nobody in particular.

  3. I have proposed this way back during last summer and it was received by the LT and I got some feedback on progress around it, but never saw any results in the end.

    The idea:

Create a simple, almost barcode-like identification for enchantments on items.

On one hand, this will save character space and allow players to put more “item description” and not just detail limits & scope of an enchantment.

On another hand, this would ensure all necessary RP information would be readily available on items and ST members supervising accusations of powergaming could just look at the enchantment and immediately tell what it is.

    In practice:

“This bronze sword carries a large ruby encrusted within its crossguard. When activated, the weapon heats up in the span of ten seconds, then unleashes a cone of fire ten feet in length and five in width, burning everything in front of the user and equivalent in power to a T4 pyromancer’s spell. The gem has to be re-charged after every 5th use by a transfigurationist.”

“T-C3-FET4-R10C5-C5”, if you take this idea to the most radical level.

“Transfiguration: Charge 3, Fire Evocation T4, 10-by-5-feet-cone, 5 charges” for a less radical approach that still looks humane and comprehensible to pretty much everyone.

    Even more alternatively:

“Carries a T4 cone of fire enchant”, with a forum thread, wiki page or google sheet detailing the parameters of the specific enchant on the specific level.

Obviously, these parameters all are fluid & can be integrated with the parameters from this thread:

Please understand the idea isn’t adding them, but to create a framework that players can use to shorten clunky magic description.

Because, FYI, the above generic fire-enchanted sword description is already too long to fit on an MC item.

Alternatively, there were hints of “packaged” enchantments. If that is still in the works / planned as implemented, then disregard the suggestion.

My friend Aldis is a strong and stout man,

His raised shield can withstand pounding,

It can deflect the unholiest ban.

    Yet from all my companions

There is one I wouldn’t ever leave

I would charge with him, with a yell,

A champion of Courland, the big Al.

    ***

    We march through Rezan gates,

Snuff them out where they dwell.

Our swords glint and seal their fates.

They scatter, they shriek as they ring their bell

We enter the home of the one rebel,

Haensetians sing welcoming to the great L.

    Do they have the balls?

    To form their shield walls?

    It seems like they do,

    But they have no clue

As we make around them a pincer,

We hear their voice, their death knell

    They lie awaiting our choice,

    A saviour, a nemesis. The great L.

    ***

An ally, not a stranger. My biggest pal.

    I couldn’t wish for a better friend,

Big Al, he dances the prince of Fenn,

    He feasts with fallen priests.

Through this war we fight it seems,

He met all the brave leaders,

    He sung their songs.

Only the cowards could evade him,

But not half the rebel lords.

But does my friend Al smile? No.

    While drinking he stands alone.

His cell empty, atop his citadel

He awaits one man to drop

Oh don’t be sad my dear mademoiselle

While our man may yell his threat

    A date is already set

For his rendezvous with my friend L.

  5. Still removing my comments, without warning or any further information, so here I go again:

Why is there no word, in a community newsletter, about the rather obvious community discussions and sentiments related to staff and the various topics where players are clearly not satisfied with the staff? Do you think hiding these from a newsletter sends a positive message? Do you think hiding posts calling this out sends a positive message?

  6. Waldemar faintly elbowed his fellow Courlander as they were drinking their emblematic coffee.

"See how productive they got after locking themselves up from our raids? It's like rainy day poets. Their cowardice is springing an artistic renaissance."

  7. Thanhium alloys exist and display very similar effects, with the additional integration of thanhium lore with magic lore.

I do not know the current state of minerals/thanhium lore and whether they will be re-written. All I know is that both the LT and the single player author who offered and started the re-write have since quit doing so due to disapproval of lore management.

  8. Really, you wouldn’t wish these art pieces on your worst enemy. For only 50 minae.

Narthok in the example as he can’t retaliate on the forums (tee-hee!).

Comment with screenshot of money transfer, demanded expression (EG, kawaii face, angry kawaii face, sweating kawaii face) and the comment you’d want to see beneath. I won’t keep to the orders 100% because I want to retain my artistic freedom.

Swords and the human body (Regardless of the mutations present) are real world things we can actively reference and research. We know, for a fact, when we’ve been powergamed because of real world knowledge of their limitations. When someone does something sketchy that the creator of the magic didn’t consider, it quickly becomes a gray area that needs further refinement or, potentially, nerfing to remove the potential exploit.

This is exactly the issue, as I have witnessed it as an axe actually pointed against the user.

Because magic is “unreal”, people are far more likely to default into “let’s call a GM” and such. And really, due to the rule enforcement on magic users & the scrutiny they can face if they abuse their magics, it’s likely they’ll avoid it. But, and I say this from personal experience, even if you call a GM to someone who’s powergaming with a sword, it’s likely they won’t be able to do anything. In the end, you are lucky if your character isn’t killed; there is seldom any reports / bans for powergaming.

  10. When you see someone powergame magic, you cry for a nerf on combat magic.

When you see someone powergame with a sword, would you cry to nerf melee weapons?

I have seen far more people powergame and ruin combat roleplay who aren't magic users. In fact, the fear of losing magic has led to me never having encountered a powergaming mage before.

One exception. Enchants. Now those are just ******* ridiculous. Literally a money mine for a select few people who seem to be able to get anything approved. Even worse when you use your weird enchanting magic to reason for an item that is /actually/ enchanted, so that your weird voodoo gives you a leverage even in PvP clicking.

@Josh3738 I hope your knockback III. shovel, prot IV urguan armour and whatever enchants the bloody hammer had were removed with the map transition.

  11. “Any smithing guild, regardless of affiliation, carries my adoration and my thrive to help them.” Koralon noted to herself reading the pamphlet. “A visit won’t hurt – I had helped the humans of Oren with a blast furnace, perhaps there’ll be friends to be made here too.”

  12. I will quote Mr. DsDevil here:

When you give an all-out ban to a player, you lose someone contributing to the community. No player is perfect, we are all flawed in one way or another. When you dispense an all-out ban, you do not only prevent a player from harming the community through the means he had harmed it prior, but you also immediately deny them any chance of contribution another way.

Because of this, I think “Wiki bans” should only be handed out to those who vandalise the Wiki / do not adhere to wiki editing rules.

Similarly, someone who X-rayed should be given an IG rank that does not allow them to loot ores, and someone breaking raiding rules should be barred from raiding and not the server.
