How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I found it on a recommended roleplaying server list, and being a fan of the Lord of the Rings series I had to check it out. What is roleplaying?: Basically roleplaying is sort of like acting, you create a character and act out their actions in different situations, so roleplaying a knight in the middle ages would involve being a part of the medieval political system and their actions during any wars or conflict. What is metagaming?: The way I like to describe metagaming is basically giving your character OOC knowledge IC which shouldn't be possible, and often ruins immersion. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power emoting in a role play is using an emote to manipulate another character without giving them a chance to react, examples: “Jonathan slashed Carter across the chest, dealing a mortal blow”, “Carly punched Fred in the face, breaking his nose”. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Aaron was born in 1543 to the family of a village leader who led a small obscure settlement named Falconclaw outside of Felsen. At first, growing up in a well to do family left Aaron rather clueless about the ways of the world, until the winter of 1555. It was a good winter, the weather wasn’t too harsh and living near a port town helped with the lack of crops, but in just one second he was stripped of everything he once had. Falconclaw was burned to the ground by a gang of bandits, everyone he knew along with his parents were slaughtered. Left without both a home and one eye thanks to the dark magic user who led the bandit assault, Zane Ragnarok, Aaron now has a redstone fake eye and a burning desire to avenge his family and friends. On his search to track down every member of the bandit gang to enact his vengeance, Aaron has formed good relations with both the independent people of Sancuary and the Dwarves of Kal’Valen, learning amateur craftsmanship, blacksmithing, and hand to hand combat from the Dwarves. Thanks to the actions of a wood elf who saved his life from the hands of Zane, he has also grown to enjoy the company of the elven races, respecting their somewhat aloof society. After hunting down most of the bandits responsible Aaron was left with few clues leading to his quarry’s location, and so he returned to his travels in the summer of 1565, though his search for revenge still continues. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Aaron is both kind hearted and ruthless, leaving no stone unturned in his quest, but also is intrigued by the mystery of magical artifacts and is a sucker for anything sweet. Due to his past, he is disgusted by thieves of all kinds, but has been known to never lose his cool in the face of danger. He also has been known to have a tongue much faster than his brain, often helping him out of most dangerous situations, and leading him into many others, which his reckless nature doesn’t help. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Aaron aspires to enact his revenge on Zane, and one day be the greatest human blacksmith in existence. Since he lost his home at a young age, he also dreams of a perfect care-free life with a wife and a family to call his own again. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Aaron is excellent at both talking his way out of trouble and hand to hand fighting, along with his somewhat passable skills as a craftsman and blacksmith. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Swordplay and sight, though the second one is unavoidable. Due to this injury to his eye he is unable to see very well and has terrible hand-eye coordination, making his dreams of becoming the world’s greatest blacksmith a hefty challenge. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Aaron is five foot nine, has black hair, one brown eye and one redstone fake eye. He has several scars and calluses on his hands from fighting and blacksmithing, and has a large scar where his left eye used to be, though he keeps it covered with the redstone eye. Despite the adversity he faces, Aaron always wears his blacksmithing goggles simply in the childish hope to one day see all his dreams come true. What is metagaming?: The way I like to describe metagaming is basically roleplaying yourself, since you know the loopholes and secrets of the role play you can use them to your advantage, which is what metgaming is. it really isn’t fair or fun simply because it takes away from the actual lore of the role play, and lore breaking shouldn’t be possible since your character can’t break the fourth wall. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power gaming is pretty much turning your character into an overpowered murder machine instead of focusing on the lore and story of the character. Aaron was found one day lost in the sparse woods outside of Sancuary, with no memories of his home, though he remembers a beautiful city of splendor and wealth. He has traveled across Vailor searching for his home, wearing his personal favorite outfit, a vest and slacks he purchased from a group of traveling elves he met along his path. So far he has avoided politics, simply because of his natural distaste for the flawed and corrupt rulers that lead the lands. Since he has little memory of his real home, Aaron nowadays has come to call Sancuary his birthplace, and is a frequent visitor when he isn’t out on an adventure. He doesn’t know the exact year of his birth, but he claims to be 22 seeing as he appears to be fairly young. Seeking justice in the world, he dislikes thieves and criminals. One of his greatest weaknesses is his love of foreign food, often leading him to try rather disgusting dishes. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Aaron aspires to be an incredible swordsman, scholar, engineer, and a source of good life lessons for the wife and family he dreams of having one day. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Aaron is an amateur with a sword but is a mastermind with his mechanical devices and traps. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Both his swordplay and his overall strength, his greatest fear is being unable to protect the good in the world. Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Aaron is five foot seven, has dark brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. (if my skin is too modern looking, I’ve got a second more medieval style skin for the same character though my current skin is my favorite)
