Markus Sarkozic considers the history of the Adrian Raevir. How the principles of strong borders, militant nobility, and harsh work that initially founded the March of Adria had since gone on to invite many similarly principled groups into Adria, until the Crows of Adria were outnumbered. He prayed for the success of the successor state, and prepared to pledge himself to the Captain General. Many letters would be soon sent to the electors of the Dumapalooza.

ADRIAN MANDATE OF PEACE

In the year 1930 of the 19th of Tobias’ Bounty
The question of Adria’s independence has long been settled, the Free Duchy of Adria has acted with total sovereignty for the better part of a decade. The question of its part in Canondom cannot be questioned either, for Adria has reconciled its disputes with the Holy Church and is in active communication with its Cardinal, Antonious, on any remnant concerns.
An extended armistice cannot work, for tensions would only flare up. The only peace can be a true peace, though the offer from the Coalition offers trust that a true peace is within sight should it be negotiated. In pursuit of peace, the Ducal Coronet declares an immediate ceasefire for the period of one year, and warns its subjects not to enter foreign lands without invitation.
Diplomacy shall be made with haste to the leaders of the Coalition to negotiate terms of a permanent peace with all members, but the Free Duchy of Adria declares a commitment to a true peace in the following interests:
- A genuine integration within Canondom. That disputes regarding the faith shall not be escalated to the threat of existential Crusade but instead discussed with the Church and any wrongdoing made right.
- The dissolution of the Holy League as an opposing force to the Duchy. There can be no Holy League against fellow members of Canondom once a peace is established.
- A meeting with Aaun to discuss its differences in title claimants and to come to a reconciliation regarding the war’s beginning, and the gifting from Adria of a prized steed to the esteemed House Barclay of Reinmar.
- The imposition of limits on any conquest that threatens the territorial integrity of the Free Duchy of Adria, its allies, and a peaceful Midland.

1st of Donovan's Stand, 460 Age of Stifled Flame
Recognizing the virtue of mutual cooperation, the Principle Parties herein named, henceforth referred to as the Kingdom of Norland and the Duchy of Adria, declare their commitment to peace by means of this defensive pact. Together the Principle Parties shall work to oppose unreasonable warmongering in central Aevos and create a stalwart force in the defense of a peaceful and stable midland. This pact shall remain valid for 15 years, upon which it may be mutually extended or renegotiated.
Article I. The Kingdom of Norland and the Duchy of Adria hereby declare their people to be in friendship; recognizing the territorial, political and cultural claims of each other. Each party shall respect the political autonomy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the other, and will not seek to influence or meddle in each other's diplomatic relations or domestic issues.
Article II. The Principle Parties shall enter a defensive alliance whereupon an assault on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of either signatory shall be an assault on the other. Threats made to the Principle Parties shall be seen through to resolution. To ensure this cooperation, there shall be regular military cooperation not less than twice per Szent’s Month.
Article III. The Principle Parties shall engage in frequent economic and cultural exchange. Norland shall supply steady shipments of Maple Syrup to Adria, who in turn will supply Apples and other midland fruits to the north. The Principle Parties shall receive a stall within each other’s market square without charge. At least twice per Szent’s Month shall the Principle Parties host a joint festivity either in the interests of trade, hunt or other agreed upon activities.
Article IV. Any disagreements or conflicts that might arise between the Principle Parties will be addressed through diplomatic means only, and never by force or coercion.

After the abdication of AGNAR GRANDAXE from the OBSIDIAN THRONE, a council was held to determine an unbiased and wise LORD REGENT to oversee the election for a successor. Appearing to represent his clan, NORLI NORVARSSON STARBREAKER was voted with an impressive and large majority to the position of LORD REGENT before an upcoming pilgrimage to the Deeproads. The Duchy of Adria’s legacy was born in Athera from the warriors of the ancient Canonist League in war against Schismatics. The humble faith of the Raevir has always been a foundational principle to the Adrian folk. It was in close cooperation with the Holy Church that Adria was restored, and it was a shameful result of poor politics that it came to be at odds.
Most notable to this deteriorating relationship was the Excommunication and later trial of the abdicated Duke Heinrik Otto Sarkozic, which later led to the Battle of Two Steeples. These events infuriated the folk of Adria, who felt they had been given no credible explanation of the wrongdoings of Heinrik or any sort of communication beyond unfounded condemnation despite their consistent public condemnation of Azdrazi and invitation for the Church’s inquisition.
It is in spite of all this scandal, Adria seeks resolution; there can only be one Holy Church. The Duchy of Adria welcomes with open arms cooperation with the Church.
It is for such a reason that Markus Marie Sarkozic had been appointed to the position of Chancellor of the Duma; to aid the Duke Johanes van Aert in the hardening of Adria’s spirit. Before his appointment, the Count of Aldersberg traveled across the realms speaking to Canonist Princes and clergy learning for the sake of Adria and at the Duke’s orders the reasons of suspicion against the many houses. Those who stir scandal within the ranks of Adria and threaten the integrity of its citizens and Duma shall be held accountable by the Duke.
ON HOUSES OF SCANDAL,
House von Draco had historically conspired repeatedly against Canondom alongside the Azdrazi. During the reign of Johanes, they had members disobey orders of the Duke which indicated an intense bloodlust that went against his Code of Conduct. As the Ducal Coronet increased its investigations into these matters, the von Dracos began to rapidly diminish from the realm and their title fell into abeyance. All members of the house are compelled to clear their name with the Ducal Crown and Church before any potential reassimilation.
Accusations of a similar nature have been levied against House Vilac of Veleç, whose status has since been stripped after their majority disappearance. The last Vilac Matriarch Emerentia Vilac has sought to resolve such scandal and has entered into a monastic life as a nun, sworn to none but GOD. In such action let the legacy of House Vilac of Veleç be freed from both suspicion or succession in Adria. Should any members appear, they are expected to likewise clear their name with the Ducal Crown and Church due to the actions of many Vilacs amongst the realm conspiring against the Church and consorting with Azdrazi.
ON THE CANONS REGULAR,
Jonathan of the Canons Regular and his followers within House Mogg are not by appointment, blessing, or consideration of any kind the Church of Adria. There can only be one Church of Adria, which is the Holy Church of the Canon. On this matter, the High Pontiff has commented “We understand mistakes are made and intentions do not always reflect the outcome, and committed to a peaceful outcome”, so a resolution is expected. Jonathan is hereby summoned to explain the situation before the Ducal Court so that it may mediate between him and the Holy Church.
ON HEINRIK OTTO SARKOZIC,
The restorer Heinrik Otto Sarkozic is expected to resolve with the Church should he return to Adria, for no man excommunicated will have any legacy to preserve. It is the trust of the Ducal Coronet that should he return, he would be offered a true chance of redemption if presented in true humility. His memory is not struck from the record; his deeds both great and flawed shall be remembered in unison. Let all virtuous Canonists pray for his own reconciliation.

With the arrival of Adria to the realm of Aevos, a great church has been erected in the heart of the Midlands suitable to the Orthodox legacy of Adria. The Cathedral of St. Emma of Woldzmir shall be consecrated and initiated with the ritual of marriage between the Count of Aldersberg, Markus Marie Sarkozic, and his betrothed Lady Ivanovich. This blessing shall be bestowed by the One Church of Canon, officiated by Popnyk Arnaud.
True to Raevir tradition the betrothed shall enter a pilgrimage of Put' Dzhulii, setting out across the regions of Aevos seeking the natural beauty of Godanistan’s shaping and holy sites of all realms. A request is extended to all willing sovereigns of the Canonist realm to confirm a promise of safety to the humbled pilgrims Markus and Oksana, who otherwise will not seek to impugn the honor of any realm with unwanted visits.
All invited to the ceremony shall be promised peace and safety within the Duchy of Adria. Upon request, the County of Aldersberg shall send a retinue to escort people to the ceremony.

I wonder if the confusion/discrepency is rooted in fact that people have diff understandings of what senses are canonically, if there's a distinction between the senses of a construct like a golem or that of a normal person. If golemantic eyes are susceptible to illusion (they are) then there's no real distinction

Over the first few months of the era of Aevos, the folk of Aldersberg were busy at work amongst their fellow Adrians. Herding, hunting, farming and all sorts of industrial activity that honored the Anthosian legacy of the title’s founding. As a foothold has been established, the Count now calls his family, allies and sworn serfs to gather in a host at Camp Aldersberg to discuss the matters of Adrian-Raevir tradition and the activities of Aldersberg over the next few years.
The host shall gather in the streets of the capital on the 17th of Sigismund’s End, before sallying forth for a hunt and patrol. The game hunted shall be brought back to Camp Aldersberg to be prepared for a feast, where and when the moot shall be held. The evening shall be finished with Carrion Black at the ducal tavern, teaching about the history of Adria. Godani jest Wieczny.
OOC: 5:30 PM EST Rally at Adria Capital, 6:30 meet at Camp Aldersberg for Moot. After Moot, return to capital for some history of Adria.

The Count of Aldersberg sat on his knees in his tent, his head held low in reverence to an icon of Sigismund before him. He gripped a carved wooden Hussaryan Cross in trembling hands as he zealously repeated a prayer to the final exalted. He contemplated the history that led up to this moment, and the actions he would take to honor it. With fervor he gripped the sword of his ancestors Aventine and walked to Adria to continue his quest.

7 years since wee little A_New_Noob made a forum account, 5 days later did @TakeMeT0TheFae accept my application. In those 5 days, my older brother who once played forced me to take handwritten notes on all of dwarven history so I can make a proper dwarf character. A cave dwarf nationalist called KRAR BRAVEBEARD (exceptional I know) who would go on to do absolutely nothing of note.
It's been a long while since I joined this server, and I've had a lot of fun getting to know a lot of the communities in my free time, especially of course my two loves Urguan and Adria.
