Barbie is such an iconic woman that gives inspiration and joy to women across the globe.
To give some background on this iconic figure, Barbie was created by Ruth Handler. Handler was the principal architect of the doll’s campaign with the Mattel company.
Barbie’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts. She was named after Ruth’s daughter, Barbara, who was the inspiration behind Barbie. Handler noticed that there were not many dolls on the market that allowed girls to envision their future beyond motherhood. She wanted her daughter to look forward to having a career and strive to have leading roles in life. On March 9th, 1959, Barbie was launched at the American Toy Fair in New York City.
Two Barbie dolls were launched. One had blonde hair and one was a brunette, both having a pulled-back ponytail with curly bangs. She wore a black and white striped swimsuit with gold hoops and black heels!𝚂𝚝. 𝙿𝚊𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚔'𝚜
Saint Patrick lived during the 5th century and is the patron saint of Ireland. He is the patron saint of Ireland and is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures.
At sixteen-years-old, St. Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders. He was transported to Ireland, where he spent about six years in captivity. With his isolation in captivity, he became a devout Christian and began to dream of converting others to the faith. Once Patrick was able to escape, he heard a voice from God telling him to leave Ireland which is exactly what he did. However, later on, an angel tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary!
A few legends were written about St. Patrick! One of the most popular was that he drove the snakes of Ireland into the sea to their destruction! How crazy is that! He also raised about thirty-three men from the dead! One of the most popular legends for St. Patrick, is the shamrock which explains the Holy Trinity concept!𝙿𝚘𝚎𝚝𝚛𝚢 𝙳𝚊𝚢

On March 9th, our lovely Community Team will dress up as either Barbie or Ken! With their festive pink and blue colors, the team will pass out barbie dolls! We hope that these Barbie and Ken dolls bring you joy and happiness throughout the day!
Toward the evening, the Event Team plans to host a stream featuring the classic Barbie Movie. Keep an eye out for the specific time, which will be announced closer to the date. And like Barbie said… “EVERY NIGHT IS GIRLS NIGHT!” Embrace the BARBIE spirit, celebrate the occasion, and let the Barbie magic add a touch of PINK to your day!𝚂𝚝. 𝙿𝚊𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚔'𝚜
On the joyful occasion of March 17th, get READY for ST. PATRICK’S DAY! Our delightful Community Leprechauns are gearing up to don their finest shades of green, injecting a festive spirit into the air. But, beware of the mischievous pranks that our lively team may play—they're known for their pranks!
As our leprechauns spread luck and prosperity across the lands, keep your eyes peeled for the magical giveaways they have in store. Four-leaf clovers, shimmering gold coins, and charming LEPRECHAUN HATS will be bestowed upon lucky individuals! So, get ready to embrace the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and revel in the whimsy brought to you by our community's lovable Leprechauns!

In the spirit of this poetic celebration, we eagerly invite submissions from across the server featuring your most exceptional poetry! Feel free to let your creativity flow and contribute to the poetic tapestry of our community.
Poetry will open on March 1st and will close on March 21st! The winners will be chosen by the end of the month!

Lunar New Years and Valentines
What is the Lunar New Year?
Lunar New Year is a major festival celebrated in East Asian cultures. In 2024, it's the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac, symbolizing strength and good fortune. Celebrations include family reunions, feasting, red envelopes for luck, and dragon dances. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to possess intelligence and charisma. Overall, the festive atmosphere is filled with joy and anticipation for a prosperous year ahead.
The Origin of Lunar New Year
The tradition of Lunar New Year is deep-rooted from a Chinese legend of the dreaded monster Nian. In ancient times there lived a monster named "Nian" which bore sharp teeth and horns, bearing much resemblance to that of a ghastly lion. On each end of the lunar year, the beast emerged from the shadows to visit villages, hunting down people and destroying their livestock. To prevent this, the villagers escaped out into the mountains.
One day there arrived an elder of silver hair and peculiar sparkling eyes. He appeared like a beggar, with his torn and rugged clothing, and the villagers spurned him for his outward decrepitude. Refusing to stay in the mountains, he requested to stay in one of the villager's homes, and awaited for the night Nian attacked again.
Soon the ferocious creature did break into the village again, but the old man was prepared for this. He slammed open the door to face the beast, roaring with laughter and clad in bright red clothes. By burning some bamboo, it created a loud cracking noise. Oddly this frightened the beast, causing it to bellow in panic, before making its escape out of the village. The villagers rejoiced at the end of that night, for their village was not destroyed.
What is Valentines?
Valentine's Day originated from the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, later replaced by the Christian celebration honoring St. Valentine. The association with romantic love emerged in the Middle Ages, and by the 18th century, exchanging cards became popular. Today, it's a global celebration on February 14th, marked by the exchange of cards, flowers, and gifts among romantic partners.

Our fabulous Community Team Monks will be dressing up in the infamous dragon costume to bring wisdom, wealth, and good luck to all! All evil spirits shall vanish as the dragons welcome in the prosperous new year!
Dragon dances will perform diverse performances, each dragon adorned in distinctive costumes conveying profound meanings. The green on the dragon signifies the imminent arrival of a plentiful harvest, while the golden and silver scales symbolize prosperity bestowed upon both the nation and its citizens. In a vivid display of respect, the yellow scales reflect the dragon's tribute to the nation it gracefully visits. Additionally, the red scales promise exciting events and reel in a wave of good fortune.
Valentine Card Drop Off
While traditionally Valentines is celebrated to cherish a person’s significant other, the Community Team wishes to spread that love all over Lord of the Craft. Everyone deserves to be loved and cherished!
Underneath the dragon at Cloud Temple, there will be a donation chest for anyone to place kind-hearted notes within. These little notes will be passed out at random to different people from all over the server. Feel free to sign the notes or keep yourself anonymous!

Similarly to former events, the Community Team Monks will be visiting nations to deliver themed gifts! All of the various gifts will be signed with the Community Team signature to be a part of your CT-item collection! The team hopes that you will treasure these gifts as much as we treasure each of you!

Red Envelope GivingTo ensure that all members of Lord of the Craft prosper throughout the year, the Monks will pass out Lunar 2024 Red Envelopes! The tradition of giving red envelopes during Lunar New Year symbolizes good luck, prosperity, and blessings.
The color red is believed to scare off any evil spirits within Chinese culture. While usually the envelopes contain money, we are unfortunately unable to hand out mina. We wish that everyone gains fortune and success nevertheless! We hope that this positive gesture will continue to bring your year joy and prosperity!The Community Team hopes that all members of LotC will continue to have such a fantastic year and to remind you all that you are LOVED.

Appeal Denied.
After carefully reviewing your ban appeal, the Moderation team would like to see another appeal in a few weeks. You may appeal again on the 24th of December, 2023. Overall, please put more effort into your appeal as we are looking for more remorse and more genuineness. You have been apart of several instances of trolling and toxicity that worries the team that you will do so again. With your motivation to come back to LotC being to fight in the war and so that you may not have to only 'discord scheme,' the team would like to see another appeal in the future. We would love to see more sincerity and assurance that no further issues will occur in the future.

Hey hey 💛 Just responding as a member of CT- Not all CT are all available 24/7 for specially apps. While I do think the number is a bit high, please realize that we are heading towards finals week/weeks. Some team members are apart different things that keep us from apps- personally me, I was doing a lot of apps when I first joined after training and then I’ve been working HOURS on HOURS with Christmas decorations. If any nation is still needing it, let me know!! But, when I spend many many hours on making each nation super cute along with writing posts (two post for staff if you check the announcements), it’s difficult to do also apps 24/7. Please be respectful and know that the team is doing it’s best.
While taking on two teams, I understand I have made a commitment to both teams; however, I believe I’ve put my best foot forward for both teams I’ve been apart of. I ask that you be more understanding and not call out an entire team when some of us are doing our best.
I hope the next round of applicants will be super awesome!! I’m so happy to talk through anything through discord if anyone wants too (annabanana1014) 💛

Just wanted to type here to clarify -- Community Team works more so towards bringing the LOTC server community TOGETHER! Not so much IRP events (while we DO roleplay with everyone while doing these events: for example, bringing gifts to people IRP) it is the Story Team's job to bring RP events! Please keep this in mind when offering constructing criticism!
