A Maeyr’onn Masquerade “What is the point of excellence if there is nobody there to admire it?” Published the 1st of the First Seed, Year 151 SA. In celebration of the youngest member in the Maeyr’onn Talonnii coming of age, a masquerade ball shall be hosted! Come to meet new people either on your own or with a plus one. - All guests are required to wear a mask and asked to not reveal their identities till the night has concluded. - There shall be two main dances, in which you are free to either sit on the side and watch or partner with a mysterious person! - Finally, Miss Carallia Maeyr’onn shall judge those in participation on attire. It is highly encouraged to dress your best, as there shall be a small prize for the winner! Haunts and thrills have overwhelmed the halls of the Beaumont Keep The households of Temesch and Brasca are joyful to invite the citizens of the Kingdom of Petra to a night of festivities within the Beaumont Keep whereas many festivities will be held in order to celebrate the season’s change. Alongside this special invites are sent to their respective families, Queen Renilde I and the Order of St. Jude to attend the evening! T I M E T A B L E THE CARVING Pumpkin carving will start our guests off, allowing for any children to find their entertainment early on as each guest picks a pumpkin from the Baroness Viktorias pumpkin patch. The carvings will be judged afterwards with a modest prize. DANCE OF THE DEAD In order to fully immerse oneself into the night, the masquerade ball will be held; capturing the essence of whatever costume they desire. Animals, Ghouls, and even historical figures shall dance the night away. Sometime throughout the night, a costume contest will take place - intended to find the best dressed at the event. POOL OF RED During the continuing festivities of the masquerade, guests are given the opportunity to dip their faces into an illustrious pale of red fruit; otherwise known to them as bobbing. The children in which attend will be allowed to keep the apples in which they catch. In the story of Nailah, the fox faerie tale, it is told that the Vixen Trickster has lead victims astray, never to be seen again in the forest. Some claim that great discoveries of wealth are the meddling ways of this spirit of hunt and ambush, scorning their rivals for unimaginable luck. Perhaps a whimsical story about the realities of life, but a wholly merry gathering for the Mother Circle none the less. Crafting a mask in honor of the Mani or Fae, the druids gather beneath the glowing glade of the Moonlit Forest for an evening of riddles, games, and drinks. Dressed in white and fall colors, a grand masquerade is held beneath the full moon. For the final celebration of the Fox Moon, a circle of the masquerade goers partake in the Chimes prayer. In tales of Nailah and the will-o-the-wisp, the nine lights are said to tempt travelers off their path and into an unfortunate death with the distant chiming of bells. By celebrating games in her likeness and chiming the bells, the gathered might have sharpened their wits to keep them safe during the final days of the Fox Moon and the beginning of the hunts.
