Cannot Connect To Server, Help?

about a week ago i noticed i couldn't connect to the server, i tried re-ading it but nothing worked and the issue has not resolved itself after some time, now it can no longer even identify the server name, i know i have the right ip address, i tried direct connecting but it says that it is outdated and that i'm still on {0} but i use the latest version of mc, so i'm clueless, any suggestions or solutions?

Maybe try create a fresh directory for minecraft? Also make sure you are using the correct IP as some people use ts.lotc.co which I don't think works any more. Try: mc.lotc.co if you haven't already. However can you tell me the error message please?

thanks and ya i'm using mc.lotc.co and the error message is failed to connect to server: outdated server! i'm still on {0}

Try using Minecraft 1.7.2.
