It Hides

The bustling hollow of Ker'nor slumbered quietly. Few walked it's winding wooden paths after dark save for the scattered guard. This evening was no different than the others, a soft rain fell from the sky into the cavern, pittering into it's small pond. Torches lit the pathway with a dim light, flickering here and there a soft wind entered from above.

 

The Div'cruan seldom watched the hollow's above entrance. With high walls and the Magos tower to keep watch, what could happen?

 

The wretched thing that descended upon Ker'nor was no intelligent beast, but it was keen enough to use this to it's advantage. Climbing over the stone wall with ease before slithering into the cavern, it's prey clenched tightly in it's maw. It wasted no time sinking into one of Ker'nor's many nooks and crannies to feast. Day would break soon and the beast would need to slumber.

 

A shrill howl rings out through the cavern, rousing the sleepy guardsmen and perhaps those in their homes.

 

But of course... It would need fresh prey in time.

Reminah would awaken at the howl, but would think nothing of it. Maybe it's a wolf or a dog she thought, Ker'nor is protected and no beast would want to attack our mountain. She falls asleep soon after
