A Request for Help

     For as long as I have been aware of the current state of the sciences in the world, I have been dissatisfied. My dissatisfaction grows ever more as I learn more about the current state of the sciences in our mundane world. Thought, study, data, reason, and argument are cast aside in favor of the sword, quiver, arrow, bow, shield, and armor. I find this tradeoff to be not only a grave sin to GOD, but also a grave error to progress. This is not to say, however, that I despise warfare and all its arts. I enjoy a clash of steel just as much as the next man (such masculine actions are desirable for a society built on strength such as ours). I simply view that, out of necessity, the sciences must be held paramount over such base desires.

 

     When I say ‘sciences,’ I of course refer to the noble studies of mathematics, philosophy, law, the natural world, the heavenly powers, and everything in between. I cannot think of any nobler and necessary studies. Such knowledge is surely practical in today’s world. Studies of magic and the Void are oft sought after by would-be scholars, yet I have come to the belief that such studies do not solve the day-to-day issues of the Descendant races. The origins of the Void will not guarantee a bountiful harvest any more than conjuring a fireball will ensure a just system of laws. This is not to say that magic itself is not necessary. The belief that I have formulated, in its simplest form, is that the study of magic should not be the primary focus of contemporary thinkers and scholars, but rather the sciences.

 

     It is for this reason that I aim to study the sciences of our mundane world. I aim to become enlightened on the nature of numbers and mathematics. I hope to unlock the secrets of how the physical world interacts with itself. I seek a better understanding of philosophy and moral law. Having the willpower and drive to pursue these goals is not enough, however. I have come to see that I am in need of aid. Henceforth, should you, the reader, find that you agree with my beliefs, send a bird to me to help in my studies. Send a bird even if you do not agree but are simply curious about what might be discovered.
