Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes, I have lived in the United States my entire life. I also have been in advanced Humanities and English classes throughout high school.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am currently an undergrad at the University of Washington, (I entered a year early). I am sort of a jack-of-all-trades, liking outdoor activities like hiking and biking, as well as studying biology and chemistry. Video games do take a back seat to all that, but I still love playing Minecraft.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Maybe somewhere around 5-10 Hours. I don't play too heavily and I have somewhat of a busy schedule most of the time.

How long have you played Minecraft?: I have played Minecraft for a full year now, purchasing the game before it went into Beta.

What do you know about role-playing? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I admit that I am not very experienced with Role-Playing. I do know that staying in-character via dialogue and actions while normal game play is commencing is the most important aspect. I have played some MMO’s and am familiar with skills and leveling, as well as money exchanges, quests, and interacting with NPC’s and other players. I also recently read several role-playing guides on the forums, and have watched several videos of people (admittedly rather poorly) role-playing on the server.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect the server to have authority that will maintain a good environment for playing in, as well as a nice (both logistically and aesthetically) server to play on. I expect that after this white-list process, the citizens with be well behaved, cooperative, and adhere to the rules of role-playing.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I haven’t played on many servers. I did play on kfperin’s server. I left it because towns were constructed very quickly and having to build a new house in each new town became tedious and time-consuming. I also played on a server that one of my friends made, but because it ran on a not-so-great computer, gameplay on the server wasn’t smooth. Also, he wouldn’t keep track of whether the server was down or not, so we (my friends and I) frequently couldn’t even play on it.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: Yes, I have read through, understood, and agreed to all the rules. I have read almost all of the standard lore (the history of aegis, etc.) and I am amazed at the effort that some of the writers put into this!

How did you hear about us?: I saw the trailer for the server on youtube.com (but not because of the yogscast). I then went to the Minecraftforum page regarding the server and read all about it. Then I found the forum.

Did you vote?: Yes, I voted for at least two of the links. 

What was your favorite Law?: I believe that my favorite law was “No mindless spamming” because spamming is all too prevalent on otherwise nice servers.

What was your least favorite Law?: I think that the only annoying law on the server would be the restrictions on what type of building you can build, and maybe the requirement of permits for mining and building. But its really not a problem, permits are pretty common on servers.

Biography:

As a boy, Sealyan was born to a Northern middle class family. His parents, allegedly, had friends across all of Aegis because of the nature of Sealyan's father's work in real-estate. This is the reason Sealyan's name is so eclectic, borrowing from elven and human names. Sealyan's parents were paranoid of attacks against their town and feared for the life of their only son. They decided to have Sealyan raised by a friend of theirs who lived very close to Al'Khazar, the capital of the Kingdom of Oren. However, Sealyan's schooling would be put on hold. When he was taken to the friend's house, they found him gone.

The family friend had fled Oren due to his debts and for crimes against the state, a shock considering his social standing. After asking about, Sealyan's family determined that his wife was currently staying in Laurelin, the capital of the Elven Princedom. His family took him their and the wife agreed to keep Sealyan with her. It was at Laurelin that Sealyan was raised. It was by the elves he was taught combat with a bow, herbal medicines, as well as farming. Eventually, Sealyan could barely remember what his parents were like, let alone where they lived.

Eventually the wife, his caretaker since childhood, died of old age. He was then transferred to the care of an innkeeper in the Kingdom of Oren. Sealyan had to take odd-jobs to make enough money to support, and it was here that he learned mining, and building. Sealyan showed promise when he showed considerable skill working at an clothing and armor shop. However, this life came to an end when business at the inn went badly. His guardian, the innkeeper, left Sealyan, saying he could not care for him any more with the inn sold to his debtors. Sealyan, feeling betrayed, now wanders Aegis as a poor vagrant, not even a wooden sword to his name. Where will he go? Perhaps back to Oren to make a living, perhaps to the elven lands from whence he was raised...?

Character Age: 27

Character Appearance: Sealyan does not stand very tall at 5’10", and is not very stocky or strong. His legs are lean and swift, and his arms thin and slightly gangly. His tussled hair is near black, and only in the brightest sun can you see that it is actually brown.  His tunic and pants consist entirely of hand-me-downs, and the little armor he took with him into the Wilds are battered and quite damaged. His eyes are a deep green, unusual considering his parents were both brown eyed.

Character Personality: Sealyan is not loquacious, and converses with only those he needs to. He is not short of smarts or cunning however, and will not hesitate to speak his mind when it is to his benefit. He is loyal and caring, for those were the traits of his first true caretakers, the wife and the elves.

Your ambitions: Sealyan did not have a sheltered life, and his ambitions reflect that. Sealyan seeks to protect those that come to him. He wanted to be an armorer, after seeing his proficiency at the clothing shop where he used to work. Sealyan also has a appreciation of the bow and arrow, after living with the elves. This leads him to want to learn from the elves how to become a professional bowyer, producing high-quality bows and arrows, and further the ancient traditions of bow-making. Maybe one day he could open an outfitting shop, equipping warriors and travelers for their adventures.

Can your character read or write?: Yes. He was taught by the elves the tongues of men and elves.

Can your character mine?: Yes, but not very proficiently.

Are you a capable builder?: Yes. Sealyan did plenty of repair work on his guardian’s inn. He also took a construction job as one of his odd-jobs.

Can you wield a sword?: Yes, but the bow is his preferred weapon.

Enjoy Farming?: Sealyan has been farming with the elves since he was a boy. 

Does your character have any special skills?: Sealyan loves to cook and sew, but has kept these hobbies a secret when he was younger to prevent the other boys from making fun of him. These interests most likely arose because the lack of a father figure through most of his early life.
