ydegirl 2357 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Spoiler A Painting of the Haenseti Countryside, c. 1778 She sat at her desk, in her bedroom above her shop. She found herself tracing her lineage, writing letters to those of her relatives that she never knew; most of whom were long dead. She traced her grandfather’s maternal lineage, then her grandmother’s paternal lineage. She looked at her Grandaunt’s lines. The d’Arkents, she learned, were her Grandaunt Vespira’s family. Theodora sighed, closing the book she’d made. Theodora’s eyes darted out the window, looking at the yellow and blue sky, she couldn’t see the sun, or, much of the sky for that matter. She never got used to the bustle of Haense, it never settled within her that her husband was already picked out for her. She missed the quietness of Kaedrin, the locals who knew her name, who’d laugh it off if she’d release her frogs, or, rats on them. “Theodora! Get inside, now!” Wilhelmina screamed from across the courtyard; there were bandits inside the Palace. The young, flaxen, curly haired girl let out a squeal, sprinting to Myre hall. The torches weren’t lit, anymore, and she lost her way from the group. She retreated to the storage closet in the Kitchens, praying that they’d leave peacefully. Her prayers were answered. Theodora recounted memories of Kaedrin, memories of her catching frogs by the lake, running the coffeeshop, going to church. She liked these memories, these Memories made her feel safe. But good memories don’t stay for long. Memories of the Sutican war flooded into her mind, the Memory of when she and Elke were kidnapped, the Memory of sitting in the Varoche, fearing for their lives. She still woke up, in a cold sweat, thinking of her kidnapping at the start of the Sutican war. “Hello, Herr Elke!” Theodora exclaimed, running up to the long, flaxen haired elf. “Oh, Hello, Lady Theodora.” He said, the girl embracing him in a hug. “How ar-” She was cut off, as two men entered Owynsburg on Horseback. They tossed them two ropes, “You’ve got ten seconds.” One man said. He was brunette, with a mask covering his face and elven, knife-like ears. Soon enough, they were thrown on Horseback, riding to their secret hideout. She’d never know how to let go of these Memories. It didn’t matter to her though. As long as she kept a smile on her face and let people assume she was fine, it was good enough for her. Spoiler OOC: A lil peek into Theo’s mind + my first lore story.
