A Gallant Apology

I, Maximilien Alexander d’Anpalais, grandson of the late knight Sir Emilio “The Gallant” d’Anpalais, humbly come to you today to offer my deepest and most sincere apologies on behalf of my family for the treachery and betrayal committed by my great aunt, Livia d’Anpalais, against the Crown and the Commonwealth.

 

I understand the gravity of her actions and the repercussions they have caused, tarnishing the name and reputation of the d’Anpalais family. It is with profound regret that I acknowledge the pain her part in the rebellion has inflicted upon the stability and harmony of our beloved Commonwealth. As a descendant of Sir Emilio, a man who stood for honor and loyalty, a man who died defending Archduke Paul Salvian, I am aware of the responsibility to uphold the principles and values he held dear.

 

Livia’s actions were not only an affront to the crown but also a violation of trust and allegiance that we, as noble subjects, owe to our sovereign. I assure you that her actions were driven solely by her own misguided beliefs and personal ambitions, and they did not reflect the sentiments or intentions of my grandsire, or our family as a whole. Since the days of the Empire, my lineage has long been bound to the service of their liege and it pains me deeply to now witness the stain that Livia has left upon my family’s honor.

 

I hereby express my commitment, both as an individual and as representative of House d’Anpalais, to distance us from Livia’s treasonous acts. I pledge my unwavering loyalty and allegiance to the Crown, vowing to uphold the laws and constitution that govern the Commonwealth. I understand that trust must be earned and I am prepared to demonstrate through my unwavering devotion and actions that the loyalty of House d’Anpalais lies solely with the prosperity and well-being of our great nation.

 

May this apology serve as a testament to the fact that the actions of one individual should not define an entire lineage, and that House d’aAnpalais, through its continued service and loyalty, seeks to restore the trust and faith once bestowed upon us by the Crown and the people of the Commonwealth of the Petra.
