COURT SUMMONS: RAVN VERANZA

10th of Sun’s Light, 121 B.A.

 

 

AS OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT, from recounts detailing criminal and dubious activity, RAVN VERANZA is being summoned by the Magisterium of Balian to defend herself against the following charges:

 

1 Count of Kidnapping (“Lex Criminalis Art. II.06B - Where an individual intentionally abducts, restrains, or confines another individual against their will, and in the course of this brings about physical harm or endangerment of the victim, this shall be Kidnapping, a felony.”)

OF REFERENCE: On Attempt (“Lex Criminalis Art. VIII.03 - Where an individual actively attempts, but fails to commit, a crime, the individual shall be held liable with a mitigated punishment according to the crime which was attempted.”): For the abduction of Qudlia, a Vortice Official, who was blindfolded while traveling on horseback with the defendant. While consent for traveling was given, On Attempt is evoked as the plaintiff was restrained and no respectable conclusion was given on the aftermath of the plaintiff’s surgery, to which the defendant conducted, regarding future endangerment.

OF REFERENCE: To A Willing Person, It Is Not A Crime (“Lex Criminalis Art. VIII.05 Where an individual consents or actively places oneself in a position of harm or danger, that individual may not bring a claim against another party in tort or delict. ”): Considering the plaintiff was not expecting to be blindfolded by the plaintiff, as well as being restrained while the plaintiff performed surgery, the Magisterium does not acknowledge To A Willing Person, It Is Not A Crime given the situation’s inconclusiveness and lack of details behind the above actions.

 

 

For acknowledgement and answering, RAVN VERANZA is summoned by the Magisterium of Balian to trial within the next SEVEN Saint’s Days. Should they not appear within the appointed period, they shall be deemed guilty of Absconding (Lex Criminalis IV.04A - Where an individual fails or intentionally avoids surrendering oneself to the custody of Royal Officials at the appropriate time, this shall be the crime of Absconding, and in the case of the awaiting trial immediately confirms guilt, dismissing the need for lawful hearing.”) and shall be considered Guilty of the aforementioned crimes, Exiled for 10 Years from the Kingdom of Balian and Seizure of Property, further punishment should they return before the period completes.

 

Additionally, the following are requested to appear in court as witnesses to the aforementioned crime: August Temesch, Father Jan, Lavanya of Cressonia, Gusiam Jusiam

 

The Magister, Alaric var Ruthern, will act as Kritai for the trial, with substitution from His Royal Majesty, King Alexander II, or His Royal Excellency, Don Kristoff var Ruthern, if necessary.
