THE DISSOLUTION OF THE GOLDHANDS

The name Goldhand, which once represented the proud legacy of the venerated ancestor-father Tungdil ‘Goldhand’, has been destitute of any degree of honour or prestige as the Clan of Aurokanar has shown its decline over the ages. This culminated in the split between the Anvilaxe and Dorimnur-aligned parties at the eve of Arcas’ sundering: Dorimnur and his followers continued to attempt to uphold the legacy of the merchant-father, but his legacy was failure and heresy. The Lord of Waystone subjected his soul to abomination, and left the realm of the dwarves in disgrace. His successors then failed to keep the clan together, leaving it destitute of proper leadership and lacking members to sustain its existence until the return of Conan.

A brief revival ensued, interrupted only by the self-imposed exile of a swathe of Dwarves who rejected the Ireheart monarchy of Bakir Ireheart and the principle of Urguan itself, seeking to dedicate their efforts solely to the Rhun in the northern hold of Khron’Hundmar. Loyalists to the throne of Kings remained in Urguan, but dwindled in prosperity and power, until the assumption of Triarchy over the clan by Thalgrim Goldhand, Bromdor Goldhand and Rylanor Goldhand. Then, in the absence of his colleagues, Thalgrim undertook sole leadership of the clan til his violent death and that of Conan at the infamous massacre of the Goldhands.

The Clan, which persisted in failure, ended in violence.

The title of Clan Father was impiously claimed by Alaric the dishonourable.

This was the state I, Grimni Goldhand, son of Klouf Grimgold (and descendant of Tungdil), found my Clan in. So I had to act.

I claimed the title of Tungil’s Heir and overlordship of the clan.

I defeated my rival claimant; the dishonoured Davli Goldhand, in ritualistic combat.

I made peace and settled grudges levied before my time.

I took up the mantle of Clan-Lord but soon found the Dwarves bereft of my family.

So I chose to depart from Dwarven lands for more than half a century.

The Goldhand Clan then remained dormant until the arrival on Azuras, whence the various scattered lineages of Tungdil met and determined that they were unworthy of the hallowed name, and opted to dissolve the Goldhand clan in perpetuity. From the dissolution of the Goldhands, the Goldshatter union was born: a collective of Tungdil’s descendants who shall now endeavour to honour the merchant-father and strive to regain the eminence of it’s name.

A new age has been heralded - that of the GOLDSHATTERS.
