Sylvia upon being handed the letter from her wife, narrowed her golden eyes "Maln...why do you always seem to be in some kind of trouble..." she sighed, black and white feathers fluttering around her. In her hand a small flame appeared, only enough to eat the paper and burn it to cinders. The voidal mage then moved back to her books, knowing that if her adopted father needed her...he would come looking.

Iris reads through the missive dumbfounded, ". . .He isn't even really a part of the council. . .he's barely here. . .this is their defense? pathetic, how about some actual evidence instead of empty claims" She tossed the missive into the flames where it belongs as it is utter trash

The red haired elfess couldn't help but laugh at the missive after reading it. Aeris set the paper down on the coffee table before her and leaned back in her seat.

"So they admit their guilt?"

To her, this missive was nothing more than a ploy to divert attention away from the wanted woman, Tahaan. To post this so soon after the warrant had been posted? Only a fool wouldn't put such an admission of guilt together. This was not a coincidence. It was a cowardly attempt at retaliation.

"Even so, as Justicar-Marshal of Wynlomere, it is my duty to investigate such concerning claims, even if spat by criminals, I will do so accordingly."

The woman would note to her sister who sat across from her.

"Though, this does net take away from the crime that was committed. It is only a new case to investigate."

A now adult Clement, though of course he goes by a different name, stared at the missive. Memories returned, though scattered and distorted. Memories of the mask, of the slap, of how close he was to death. What had been told to be a dream was now made true. He would sob that night with the realization it was all real. How cruel, that he learns his torture from a missive.

Spoiler

This is unironically what got me to try playing LOTC again! GJ.

Mae'ralin. Infernal shaman.

Mae'ralin. Infernal shaman.

Dead.

Castien considers his options, feeling sick to his stomach. There's only one way to find out how true this is. He doesn't know what he wants to be true.
