I finally make it to the city after a long journey in hopes to setlle down, I see a sign selling slum houses I look at the price and reach in to my pocket and I see nothing, so im asking if somebody would bunk with me, I will help pay rend when I start earning some money.

You could always get a job in which you get a free room. Quite a lot of employers do offer beds to their workers.
