Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name:

My Minecraft account name is djinn71

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?:

I couldn't attend minecon and even if I had, I only heard of LOTC very recently.

How old are you?:

I am 15 years old currently.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Australia

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I have an excellent grip of English and I hope my grammar is sufficient.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I enjoy reading and gaming, usually fantasy, although I do like sci-fi on occasion. My favourite games to date would be, Skyrim, Minecraft, Oblivion, SW KOTOR and Gary's Mod (mostly RP servers). I believe that I am a rational and logical person and that I would fit in on this server.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I could be on anywhere from 10 to 30 hours every week, although that may change depending on the amount of homework I get in the new year.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

Roleplaying is literally playing the role of a character, this means that you act and speak like them at all times, except in out of character chat. It is RP if you avenge your friend after they were unlawfully murdered. It isn't RP if you randomly kill someone, with no motive (AKA trolling).

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is the use of out of character knowledge to advantage your in game character, this could be: using a strategy guide, using third person in MC or copying a mining style from the internet.

Powergaming is a playstyle that is completely different to anything an actual character of that world would do, powergaming is standing in a mob grinder for hours to get loot, it is something that seems unnatural in that world.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect that this server will have a strong RP environment and a social system that isn't present in any other server I know of. I hope to be able to constantly interact with players and not see every town I come across empty and/or abandoned.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on a few servers, the first one I played on was referred to as Chey's server (I cannot remember the name) I left after a friend was banned, he was speed hacking and got a perma ban.

After that I played sparingly on 'Simplicity' but it was destroyed by griefing. Then I found a new server, unlike the others this one had a whitelist and application system. The name of this server is Valkyr Australia, this soon became my groups home server and after a while we all donated $10 for the rank of Donator. I left this server after constant restarts and a lack of RPG elements and RP.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I have read, understood and agree to the server rules.

How did you hear about us?:

I saw your server in the signature of a commenter on www.minecraftforum.net

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

I have voted but I made an account after that and I can't find the number.

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

My LOTC forum account name is Nycto Nihi (I assume you mean my display name as anyone can read these posts).

In-Character:

Character Name:

My name is Rap'rian.

What is your Race?:

I am a human.

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

I am Rap'rian, I grew up in a small nameless village in the Kingdom of Oren. I found my life as the baker's son and apprentice dull and menial. I felt clearly different from my simple minded neighbours as if a wall of aspiration separated us. Other than that I knew that I looked different, I looked nothing like the baker, or anyone else. My eyes were green and theirs were brown, my hair was shadow and theirs light, I was tall and they were stocky, I was different.

I was endlessly excited by the tales the Storyteller told to us. By the age of 10 I had decide to become a knight, then a dashing thief and then a prince, but I gradually grew out of childhood and one great calling seemed to stick.

This calling was that of the Mage, I knew nothing of magic and nor did anyone as far as my towns people had ever been. I began to feel a pull every now and then, I followed it to the furthest hill in sight of my village, but never further. At the age of 17 I left that nameless place and fled with a driving need to travel another league further everyday.

I am Rap'rian and I need magic like a dying man needs water.

Your characters ambitions:

My one and only ambition is to learn magic wherever I can, whatever the cost.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

I rush to the aid of the unfortunate elf, after I engage the bandits my limited knowledge of combat makes me an easy target and as the bandits are preoccupied with removing the weakest opponent, the elf moves back and fires two arrows in rapid succession. The bandits fall with a loud thump and I struggle to my feet.

The elf thanks me, I tell him that he did all the work. He tells me that he owes me and will help me in any way he can, I ask him if he knows anything about magic, he regretfully replies that he doesn't but he gives me a small sum of gold and directions to a man who knows of the mages guild and their ways.

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"I am just passing through" I reply lost in a seething sea of faces "do you know where I could find a library?"

The merchant replies haughtily "Ha! They would never let you in looking like that! You must buy some of my wonderful cloth, it is the finest in the city!"

I leave disappointed.

Good application, accepted!

BUT, the definition for powergaming was somewhat correct.

Powergaming is also an action in which the person performing the action has complete control over the situation and the other person has no time to react or do anything.
