Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: gorlogar

How old are you?: I am currently 23 years of age.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5), United States of America.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I would like to think so, but no one is perfect.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'd like to think I'm a decent person. I enjoy movies, video games, sports, I read more then my fair share of books (45 since January 1st, in the Fantasy/Science-Fiction genre) and get up to all sorts of nonsense with my friends.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Probably around 20 hours. It could be a lot more depending on my week, but never less.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying quite literally means playing out a role, in this context it's one we the players have created for ourselves. It's essentially keeping our behavior in-game (whether it be talking or exploring or combat/pvp) in the context as to what our character would do, not ourselves the player.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've been a member of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) since I was 13, and attend events such as Pennsic. I've played DnD most of my life and our DM gives an XP bonus for roleplay, so of course that became the norm. I've been a member/founded several long lasting RP guilds on several RP servers in World of Warcraft, and more recently on SW:ToR.

TL;DR tons and tons and tons of RP experience.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is the act of using information gained OOC (whether it be from on the internet or just in chat) while in character; effectively giving your character knowledge he/she never had access too, and should not otherwise know.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is using roleplay in order to take control of another character. Such things as, "I put your character in a 10 deep hole."

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be a server with lots of Lore behind it including several established nations and plenty of guilds, and many opportunities to roleplay.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: The only other public server I've played on is Chicken God, and while I expect I will still go there when I feel like just hanging out and building, it doesn't satisfy my needs and wants for an RP world with the features LotC offers.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I understand, and I agree.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes I do.

How did you hear about us?: Through a MC.net forum search, and Minestatus.net

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: Yes, just now. Number 4,196.

In-Character:

Character Name: Balor Icewing

What Race are you?: Dwarven.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Mountain Dwarf.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Balor Icewing was yet a young dwarf when the move to Asulon occurred. He spent the start of his life as a novice in a now defunct sect following Dungrimm. Now at the still tender age of 90, the black haired and bearded Balor has decided to set down in Karik.

Often described as full of energy and spirit, Balor arrives with a need for something he never had - a place to sit down roots; to start a legacy. He ascribes to Dungrimm in all matters and worships him still, maybe in place of not having family or clan, and slightly zealous in his nature concerning proper respect due to the Brathmordakin.

What is your Character's ambitions?: To garner of himself a legacy deserving of his race and the Brathmordakin, to worship Dungrimm as well as any dwarf may, and recieve high bids in the afterlife.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Axe!

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? His ability at diplomacy, and the strength of his drive to get stuff done.

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): dwarfexample.png

Other Information about your Character: None! Hoping to start a holy order worshiping Dungrimm at some point.
