Minecraft Account Name:

candydeath13

How old are you?:

16, turning 17 this December.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

US/east coast

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

yes, and I believe others should too, though the occasional error is understandable.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I love all things minecraft. I simply adore lotr, and would love to play on this server.

How much time could you be on the server weekly

during the summer and breaks from school, I tend to play anywhere from 10 to 40 hours a week

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Making decisions based on what the character would do. You are not the character. The character is its own entity, and should make its own decisions.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

dungeons and dragons, morrowind, oblivion, skyrim, the Sims, Fable, World of warcraft, Rift, lord of the rings online. I often roleplayed with my brother and sister when I was younger. I don't knw if any of these would count, but I do know how.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

using information unavailable to other players to help with in-game situations and decisions. for example, if someone tells you that there is a dungeon underneath a nearby village IRL, but you two are nowhere near each other in-game, you cannot go to the dungeon without first being told in-game. Essentially, if you have information IRL, your character has to have found out about it in-game beforehand.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-gaming is when someone automatically wins when they make a choice or take an action. You can't just shoot someone. You must pull out the bow, then fire. at either of these points, another player has an opportunity to react, unlike if you simply shoot them.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

secure, large, good, friendly, fair, good roleplaying, nice people, no griefers

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Friendly server, Obsidiancraft. I have not yet left friendly server. I left obsidiancraft because it was too crowded. I currently have a fort carved in the side of a mountain in friendly server, by which I mean there is a giant block of wood that is built in the side.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

yes, and I believe that they are just and fair, and that they will prevent griefing and other forms of harrassment.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I swear to abide by all of the rules.

How did you hear about us?:

I was looking for new servers to play on. I checked on youtube and found some videos about this server, and, seeing as I love LOTR so much, registered on the forum, then, after several previous submissions, created this application.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?:

yes I have voted, though I do not recall exactly what number I was.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Dain, Son of Thrain

What Race are you?:

"I am a man"

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren't required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.)

When I was younger, I enjoyed swordfighting and helping my dad keep watch on the city. I never really liked bows much, though nowadays I use them in long range circumstances. I've always enjoyed fishing quite a lot, and absolutely adore the mechanics of running a shop. My father's brother-in-law, my uncle, ran a shop himself, in which I worked on weekends, for a couple of minas an hour. One day, my father disappeared, and I was left with my uncle (my mother had died at childbirth). He taught me all about fishing, and, unlike my father, told me about my mother. He often compared me to her, my eyes, my hair. He said we have the same blue eyes, brown hair, stubborn tendencies. He always became sad when he spoke of her.

When I moved out, I became interested in running a shop of my own. But, as I began to make plans and save money, I discovered something. Whilst cleaning out the storage rooms of my old childhood home (being twenty four then), I found my father's journal. Upon reading it, I discovered that he had been experimenting with ways to survive in the Nether, long enough to find Mother. It also said quite a bit about the group of Undead that had taken her. For some reason or another, the Undead had decided that my family could be useful to Illees. I went exploring around the portal fairly often, then, and eventually got myself into trouble. A couple of undead had found me, and I had dropped the book in my haste. They have not stopped hunting me, even to this day. I am now thirty four.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

To find a way to close the way to the Nether permanently, so that none can go through. I will stop being hunted by the Undead, and finally be able to sleep peacefully at night, without any nightmares.

What is your character's favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Ah, that's an easy question. In battle, I usually prefer my sword to other weapons, though if in a long range situation, I do enjoy using a bow.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

"My luck is my talent, if you can call it that. I have survived even the toughest situations, simply because chance dictated so. Often have I gravely wounded myself in combat, and healed to perfect health, save a few scars. Of course, nature has its checks and balances. On the reverse side of the coin, I am cursed to always accept a fair challenge. I simply cannot resist."

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format):

unfortunately, I can only provide the format attached below. However, if you go to the link below you can see the skin in the proper format (Aragorn, by Aidanator).

Other Information about your Character:

"There really isn't much more to me, except perhaps my experience with a blade. Because I have been hunted all my life, I had to learn how to defend myself, and all in all, have thus become a very skilled swordfighter, though I remain far from mastery.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

"I wait until they have left, being outnumbered, and wander over to the halfling, who is likely dazed and confused. I escort him to his house, and promise his money back. Afterwards, I follow the tracks made by the warriors, and lay a trap for them outside of their shelter, hoping that if and when it caught them, I could retrieve the halfling's money, and return it to him. However, I do listen outside for a short while to their conversations before I leave the trap where it is."

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He's offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character's response?

"I am dreadfully sorry," I say, "but I cannot stop to browse your wares." Though, upon walking farther past, a sword catches my eye. I ask him,"What would be the price for such a fine-looking sword?" "Two-hundred Mina.", he answers. Hearing this, I see in his eyes that he would lower price, with some haggling. "Fifty." I respond. "But my dear sir! This is a fine sword! Hand crafted by Mort himself!" he croaked. " Worth more n' a million, for sure! How about 150?" he countered. I shake my head. "75. Take it or leave it." "But sir! This was crafted out of bedrock itself! Korg only could do this, for sure! 125 Mina, that's as low as I can go." he enticed. "70." "All right! All right! Here, take your sword. That'll be 110." he said. "You mean 65?" "Yes, yes, 80." I draw my sword. " you mean 60?" I growl. "Fine! Take it! Just give me the sixty and leave already!" he shouts. We make the exchange. He snickers as I walk away.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

All things considered, I open the door and lay on the bed for a while. I am worried the owner may come back, but it looks as if the place hasn't been used in a long time. I wonder if I should stay here, or move on. I decide to sleep on it. When I wake up, I find a hooded figure standing over the bed. Before I have time to draw my sword, it nods towrds its hand, presently clutching an axe. It whispers angrily, "Why are you here?". "I wished only to stay for the night, and have taken nothing. Please allow me to go. I only wanted shelter." It picks me up by my shoulder, hisses, and throws me out of the door, which slams behind me.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

I quickly pull out what goods I have to trade, hoping that they will exchange food for what little I have. "Hail," I say. "I have cow hide, iron ingots, and wood to trade. I hunger for food. Does anyone here have any they would be willing to barter for?" They mutter amongst themselves."We have much to trade," one replies, "But you have little to offer. what other items do you possess, if any, that warrant our hospitality?" "Well, good sir, since you have asked, I have a sword I bought from a vendor a while back. Still unused, I am unsure of its quality, but I know that the vendor wanted no small price for it." I said. "May we have a look?" another asked, questioningly. "By all means." I replied. But no sooner had I pulled out the sword then two of them rushed toward me, weapons raised. I rolled, slashed, and sprang to my feet. They clutched their injured ankles.

I realized that I myself had a cut across my forearm, as well as another on my left thigh. "Peace, men," one, presumably the leader, ordered. "We do not want any more trouble. Nor do I wish to risk any of my warriors. Go now, and we will let you be. Otherwise, I suggest you beg the Aengels for aid, as there would be no other help that could come to you." he continued. Hearing this, I nod, then limp weakly info the woods, taking my items with me.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

I offer my help for free, as no guard should have to pay any price for aid, as they'd the same for others any day. I also help spread the word to the general area. I also have respect for guards as my father was one.
