Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I play a lot of video games. I like hanging out whith my friends and playing on games with them.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 3 days a week however I may not be able to get on while on trips but I will try.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is where in an alternate land or sometimes on Earth (usually medieval)you create a character and improve him/he with specific attributes to suit their specific style of fighting/doing things. An ideal RPG is where your character if fully customisable with different skills and styles of gameplay to do what they do best whether it be farming, fighting, cooking etc.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have played a lot of other rpgs like Skyrim and Oblivion. My friend Demivar ((DavidCressey)) was the one that convinced me to play on LotC and he has been screen sharing with me on Skype to show me how to roleplay and what it is like to rp in Asulon.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: To use ooc information icly for example Someone reads some writing and walk up saying “Hello Fred how are you?”, there is helmet metagaming where someone can see someones face with their texture pack when they have a helmet on or looks at someones tag and remembers their name and says “Hello Pete”

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming:I think it is where people give you no chance to fight back in rp and just kill you. An example of powergaming is: Paul: *Kicks down the wall, knocks the guard to the floor and kills him.

Fred: *Has no chance to fight back

Mike: Knocks the bandit unconscious in 1 hit, handcuffs him and puts him in shackles and drags him in jail

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be fun and easy to do stuff in while not just being brutally murdered by everyone.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: city craft survival I left because one of my friends had been kicked so I decided to leave with all may mates and people would just kill you if you left spawn.

In-Character:

Character Name: Darryl.

What Race are you?: Human.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Northerner.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): When he was a child he went hunting with is father and his 4 brothers. His father and him use to make arrows for hunting he use to put different ores to make them more powerful. He had the best shot out of all of them he could shoot an animal from 10 feet. As he grew up he became more skilled in archery and used his skills for mercenary work. He married Jane Hostman they had 2 children Eric and Dom.

As Darryl grew older he had a unique personality and an interesting array of talents. He never accepted incompetence and if someone fell behind he would get very angry. Darryl Was always good with his axe and bow but never really grasped the concept of using a sword, he never seemed to be good at mining or smithing as his brothers usually did that for of work. If other people did well he would be happy and cheerful but this was a rare occurrence as his personality was very serious. He was always regarded as a “silent and deadly” character but he often puts his views into conversations after he has heard the thoughts of others. Darryl only gives constructive criticism and doesn’t make meaningless comments, he isn’t a talkative person.

He got news from a friend that his mother and fathers had being attacked and their village had burned to the ground. He did not believe it so he went to see but as his friend had said it was burned to dust. He returned home after making 2 graves one for his parents. He returned home to find his village under attack. He entered the village to see the attackers lighting his house on fire so he drew his bow and began firing a flurry o arrows at them, killing one of the bandits and injuring another. Suddenly, he was whacked in the back with a club and fell to the ground unconscious.

When he came to he was lying in a pile of bodies. Removing the bodies he got to his feet to see the damage ash and corpses lay around him friends and co workers alike face down in the mud. He left the village after searching for any evidence of who could have done this he found his old sword some food and his trusted cross bow then he exited the village and set off in search for tracks. On that day he swore to find and kill the people who did this to him. He traveled to Asulon in search of his brother Demivar as Aegis had been destroyed by the undead that serve Iblees and it as sunk into the nether and become a void.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Darryl aims to find his four brothers Demivar, Gallus, Rick and Donovan and he wants to become a high rank Demivar’s guild the Crimson Blades. He wants to become an expert with his bow so he can defeat bandits to avenge his family

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Darryl prefers to use his bow as it is very versatile.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Archery.

Other Information about your Character: Darryl is 20 years old, he is good at archery and and is good at using his woodcutting axe as a reserve, he operates better alone.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? *Darryl hides in bush and readies an arrow, he aims at the head of one of the warriors and shouts out* “stand down or I will shoot you” the warriors turn around and charge at Darryl shouting “I aint scared of ye’” Darryl shoots one of the men, injuring him then pulls out his axe and goes to attack the wounded man. He gets hit in the leg then shputs at the other man to distract him whilst the Halfling picks up the sword from the other warrior and stabs the man in the groin gap of his armour to wund him then Darryl finishes the second man off. “Thank you sir” he said gratefully, Darryl just replies “I’m just doing my job” then leaves and continues on his journey.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? “Whell I’m just inspecting the quality of these arrows but that leather looks good, I’ll give you say 200 minas for *checks the size of the leather to see how much he would need for new armour* twenty four strips please” the shopkeeper replies “very well, is there anything else that you wish to purchase?” “nay, that’s all thank you, pleasure doing business to you”

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Darryl looks around the hut and it’s surroundings to check for any signs of someone living there, he sees no tracks of any form so he takes the iron but leaves the blade as a man shouldn’t be left with no protection he thinks

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? “Hello sir, is there any food that you could spare me, I have little minas but I could pay it off in other ways.” A humble farmer replies “Here have some bread, we have a wolf problem that is killing our livestock and cattle, could you please ‘remove’ it?, it’s wounded so it won’t be much of a challenge” Darryl replies, “sure I’ll just be a minute” he eats some food to regain his energy then goes to fight the wolf.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: “I don’t see why not, let me fletch some more arrows and put some more wax on my bow strings then I’ll be ready” “aah very good sir, we would have more men but a lot of our guards were killed in the battle of Oren” replies the captain, “what should be our plan of attack now sir?” says Darryl, “Whell we are trying a basic charging strategy but could you get in the trees and use your bow to help us?” replies the captain “Okay sir” says Darryl . He prepares himself and watches the battle insue whilst shooting arrows at the bandits”

The reason we have multiple application team members reviewing your application and not just a single one are simple, not one person can pick up every single error on your application. You however do not always follow the advice of an application team member and seem to write much the same type of stuff. Be careful that you do not waste your limited chances.

I am very sorry, but your application has been moved to the denied section of the forums. There are numerous reasons for this, all of which I have included in my feedback below this message. In the mean time there is an abundant source of information, stories, guides and other helpful tips to get you on your way to being accepted; all you need to do is look around. The reasons that I have denied you are:

Your definition of Roleplaying is not what we are after.

Your current definition of Roleplaying displays to me that you do not fully understand what Roleplaying is all about. Please go back and so some research as to what Roleplaying is. I needn’t remind you that this is a Roleplaying server, if you do not know how to role-play or do not show evidence that you are keen to learn how to role-play I suggest you find a Minecraft server better suited to your needs.

You did not give valid examples of RP, or you did not describe how your examples are RP.

You need to describe to us how the games or locations you have talked about pertain to an RP environment.

RPGs or Role-Playing Games are not RP’s.

Games such as World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Rift or similar do not count as Roleplaying as there is no person to person interaction within a Roleplaying scenario (unless of course you were on a Roleplaying server in which you need to explain where and how you role-played to show your understanding of the term).

You need to have a character last name.

Unless you have a specific reason for why you do not have a last name of your character, you need to write a last name to show that you have put some in-depth thought processes into developing and creating your character.

You did not listen or understand the feedback from your previous application.

Being able to understand and complete orders set by Game moderators or Administrators is crucial if you want to be on the server. If you are unable to comply for whatever reason then you must state so in a clear, collected and mature way. Otherwise this demonstrates that you would be unable to understand and follow the rules of the server, thus this is a quality that we do not wish to see in applicants. Please re-read all of the feedback that was given previously, and that I have given you today and re-structure your application accordingly.

Your biography has a lot of errors.

It seems there are a lot of villages getting raided all over the place. Its a wonder there are any people left in the world by the amount of people who write that their village was raided and their parents brutally murdered...

You have not included any lore from the world of Asulon or the lore you did include contradicts that of Asulon. I recommend that you do a lot of research as to what you race is and how they act, as well as towns and places that you could use in your biography. Do note this is not Skyrim or Lord of the Rings, we have our own universe with our own races. For ideas and lore you can look on the Lord of the Craft wiki (link on the main page), the Role-play or History sections of the forums or better yet; talk to the people themselves. Just join in our Team Speak channel and ask around! We welcome new people :)

Your story does not make too much sense.

You need to complete the entire biography, detailing all your characters history, age, personality and description. We also like to see little role-play quirks such as habits like the constant brushing back of a fringe, or the scratching of an itchy palm.

Every single thing in your application must have a justification. For example:

John’s father taught him swordsman ship and the lay of the land. X BAD

John’s father was a retired swordsman in the Oren military, after the undead attacks and the moving to Asulon he decided it was time that he lay down the sword for more important matters, family. Now days John’s father teaches John the way of the sword, not so that he can join any particular military, but so that he can defend himself for future experiences to come. √GOOD

Your ambitions are underdeveloped.

You need to show some advanced thought processes. What would your character like to do in the near and distant futures? What is your character planning? You also need to justify your decisions. Why does your character want to do this? Things such as planning to kill all bandits, orcs, humans etc. are unacceptable ambitions as this would require a villainous activity.

Your answers to the favourite tool/best skill questions are underdeveloped.

You need to justify why you have chosen the choices you have. It is all well and good that your character can run really fast, or is light on their feet: but why?

Some or all of your answers to the Open Response questions need a lot of improvement.

We expect that you write in full RP and that you write a full paragraph or more for each question.

Just because a scene looks "boring" and like all you have to write is "he buys something and leave" or equivilant, that does not mean that is what you should write. Be creative in your writing, at the very least be as descriptive as you can in your writing.

Josh talks to the shopkeeper, buys a few apples, pays the shop keeper and leaves. X BAD

Josh walks up to the man standing behind the rough oaken market stand. The sounds of a busy market can be heard all around him. An annoying fly buzzes around his head, so he absent-mindedly begins to inefficiently swat it away. “Ah, greetings shopkeeper! I was just browsing your wares.” The shopkeeper nods at Josh and then turns towards another customer to attempt to assist them the way all market shopkeepers must. Suddenly Josh felt a slight tugging sensation on his belt. He was about to brush it off as nothing, perhaps just someone bumping into him until he realised his belt was slightly lighter. He noticed a man beginning to run off in the opposite direction of himself. He glanced down to see that his coin purse was missing. He put two and two together and then shouted at the top of his lungs. “STOP THEIF!”… √ GOOD!
