Minecraft Account Name: Aagaron

How old are you?:14

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in the U.S. , more specifically, Texas. Central Standard time, 6

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I do, and being somewhat of a perfectionist, I pride myself in (for the most part) good grammar and spelling.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am in Eighth Grade, and going on to be a Freshman after Summer. I spend what free time I have usually playing videogames, and since I don't have a lot of money, I play Minecraft a lot. I positively contribute to most of the servers I play on by helping new players get started and being friendly to most of the people I meet.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: It varies, but possibly 7-15 hours.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is a means of escaping the world we live in to go to a different world, where fantastic and wonderful things take place. In a way, we are the actors to the audience, who are also us. We live a different life, albeit short, a good one.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Me and my sister RP'ed a little in WoW on before we cancelled the account to play TOR, but other than that, none.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is a type of cheating where you obtain information that you would otherwise have no way of knowing, like if one of your friends told you that there was a base at a certain co-ords, that had been abandoned for a long time and had valuables in the chests, or if you were warned that someone was going to raid your house, you could pick up and leave.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is use of RP mechanics to make your character superior to everyone else, like saying /me crushes Derp's skull with his hammer killing him instantly.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it will be like multiplayer Skyrim (to a fault) without the combat system and innumerable glitches, nice cities and players who share a common goal of roleplaying politely.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Mostly PvP servers like

pvp.hcserver.com

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I do.

How did you hear about us?: My friend, (his IGN is Jpool17).

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I had a previous application here: http://www.lordofthe...st-application/

Character Name: Durain Steelwright

What Race are you?: Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Durain was born in a small unnamed camp. This was not a camp where all things were right and fine. It was a refugee camp for a local Noble's underlings to fester and rot after their home villages were destroyed by wildfires. Growing up in the slums would have twisted most other people because of the hatred and prejudice in the camp, but Durain always seemed to do the right thing. He was separated from his family during the burning of his village, and grew up an orphan on the streets, until he was enlisted for the Noble's private militia.

The Noble came down to see the 15 year old dwarf practicing with his loaned sword, and laughed as he stumbled and dropped it. Angered, Durain picked up an axe off a weapon rack, and started lopping off dummy heads left and right. The Noble just watched, as did the other elves, humans and orcs being drafted. The whole camp, it seemed, was silent. The Noble stood and asked for Durain to approach. The Noble told him he had never seen an untrained child preform so well. Durain was enlisted three years later.

He fought on many occasions for the Noble, doing more than he ever asked, they grew closer together, until they were almost father and son. On the Noble's Birthday, all the guard had gathered to celebrate, letting the local gangsters who settled in the forest beyond the camp, snuck in and killed the Noble in broad daylight, chanting about a cult of the dark gods, or like nonesense. Devastated by his loss, Durain set out to kill the assassins, and when he found them, they did not get but a word before they were headless. He returned with a bloody axe, bloodstained clothes and his light brown hair and squared face, held their banner high enough for the whole camp to see, and burned it. He is now 30 years old and travels the land, helping undo the seeds of evil wherever they are sowed. His travels have led him across the land, but he is still unfamiliar with it, and while his travels have been long, they have yielded few dangers, which were easily overcome. He now travels to Cloud Temple, to find work there, or leads to find evil, corrupt, or unholy peoples to slay. Durain has brown hair, and usually wears the same rugged tunic. He is very hairy and is not overly prone to shaving. He has small black eyes and bushy eyebrows, and a soft beard. He always wears shin guards, but removes them when he has armor to wear on his feet.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Durain hopes to rid the world of evil doers, or at least as many as possible.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Durian's tool of choice is an axe.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? One of Durain's best talents is fighting, and is unusually adept at potion brewing.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?

Upon hearing the news, I walk to the guard barracks and learn more about the problem they have. I ask what crimes they have committed and about how many bandits there are in the camp. The guards respond, "About 10 or 15, all are as shy as sheep, and if they get the chance, the will run." Durain would ponder this for a moment, than tell the guards that he hopes not to impose, but he has a plan. To surround the camp at night while they were sleeping so escape was not possible, then Durain could come into the camp and challenge each of them to single combat. He is no murderer or thief, but easily kills them in a fair fight, taking only one cut on the forearm.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Durain, being the adventurous adventurer, usually requires new wares to preform at his best. Durain would take a good look at all of the wares the many offers, but mostly the food, armor, and axes. Durain only carries the "essentials" so, with confidence that the man was a legitimate vendor, and not a wealthy thief trying to make a quick profit, buys a few necessities and trinkets for the road. However, the bartering ate through most of his coin and with a full belly and near empty pockets, he wanders the town to find a beggar or struggling businessman and gives him his last few alms as goodwill before resting at the inn, and then departing the town.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Durain, with his goal of purging all evildoers from this world, but not a blind fool who hits then asks questions, inquires upon the situation. He finds that the two men are hired mercenaries to punish the halfling, who forgot to pay his "protection" fee. Durain tries to learn more to chose who is right or wrong, but the mercenaries say, "None of your business." and push him back.

Durain does not retaliate against the push, but asks again. This time, the mercenaries pull out swords and try to cut up Durain. Durain wields his axe and winks at the halfling, signalling him to run. The halfling receives the message and does not delay to flee. Durain easily parries their swords and, careful not to harm them, disarms them with fluid motion and forces them to the ground. The mercenaries are awestruck at the dwarf's finnese in battle. "Nobody needs to die today without reason. Go back to your employer and tell him that the halfling has left Cloud Temple and fled to Alras." If the mercs were surprised before, they were amazed by the dwarf's enigmatic character and skills. The mercs did not waste their energy thanking him for their lives, just ran straight back to where Durain assumed was the employer's meeting spot.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Durain would step into the house, and diligently search for signs of recent activity and traps, and finds none. He walks into the house and leaves the sword, but takes the iron ingots. He is not a good swordsman, but the iron could be used to repair his ax if needed, or make a new one entirely. And who knows? The next person to enter the house and need the sword more. Durain would leave some form of thank you note and something of near equal value for the iron ingots. Possibly some money or exotic dyes, etc. On his way out, he would ponder, as he always does, what the house was like when it had a use. The owner running about with their children, or maybe doing scholar work? Or maybe playing with children? He would re-enter the house and put a few more treasures into the chest, then took some brambles from nearby trees and did an adequate job of making the house look abandoned more so. He hoped that theives would give it a thought and keep walking. Happy with his work, he turned and walked off into the forest.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

Durain, who is very quick to realize the intentions of people, knows they are poor hunters trying to make their way in the world, their paths and destinations in life different, but united to get there faster. Durain would walk into the camp and ask if he could rest up and pay for some food in the camp. They were more than happy to accept the company of another traveler, not doubt with odd and outlandish tales to share. And he did. He sat by the fire with the traders enjoying their perfectly cooked meat, while he shared his stories of his travels and before then, back to his life in the refugee camp. Then he slept on a tattered spare bedroll. I was only a sheet and flour sack. A "bed" had never felt so comfortable to him after all he had done that day, what with all the traveling and finding the camp. The next morning, as promised, he payed his fee to the traders, and asked if they had heard of any bandit activity in the area. They were traveling traders and were unfamiliar with the land as well, so he had no luck there. They did however know where the closest road to their position was. He thanked the men and grabbed his pack with his supplies, and a bit of food he had bought from the traders, and went on his way.
