In your own words, define what the act of Roleplaying is:

Roleplaying is the act of setting your mind to that of your character. Putting yourself in situations, you must react how your character would react depending on factors and the personality and physical characteristics of said character.

In your own Words, define what the act of Metagaming is:

Metagaming is the act of using information you learned while not in-game as your character. A minor example could be seeing someone’s RP name in chat and calling them by that name without them telling you their name. A major example could be hearing about a meeting or battle in OOC chat or any other OOC form and going to it without your character ever hearing of it, yet expecting the event anyway.

In your own Words, define what the act of Powergaming is:

Powergaming could be described as having a perfect character. One who is flawless in all skills and battle, dodging all attacks and hitting their target every time, without missing. These are outright unrealistic; all people have flaws thus is unacceptable in any form.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Norak Goldhand

What Race are you?:

Dwarf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Mountain Dwarf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Before his Birth:

Norak was born into the world of Aegis, in the Kingdom of Alras. His father, Rasun Goldhand, had founded this colony long ago and had now been formed into a Nation. However, a dwarf named Syrio Forel overthrew him and Rasun was forced to step down. After a few years out of Alras, Rasun returned to his Kingdom, not being able to stay away. Upon his return, Rasun discovered his good friend Gulroid and bought a home next door. One day, he met a beautiful halfling by the name of Azalea. They got to know each other, and fell for each other especially since they both had a thing for nature. Eventually the gods of Aegis blessed them, and Azalea gave birth to her first child, a dwarf whom they both named: Norak.

Early Life:

Norak was a friendly and naïve dwarfling who enjoyed his home kingdom of Alras. He could often be seen running around his or Gulroid’s home, just enjoying his peaceful life. Little did he know, things were soon to change drastically for him. One quiet day in his home, there Rasun entered the door with grave news. The Kingdom was to be demolished! They had to move all their items immediately to their home in Kal’Urguan. Azalea resented the idea, because she could never get quite used to underground living; especially seeing how far underneath the earth Kal’Urguan was. Norak didn’t know what to expect, as he had never visited Kal’Urguan before, although he had heard of its magnificence. Eventually, Rasun persuaded Azalea to move, and they had packed all their and Gulroid’s items. Upon arrival to Kal’Urguan, they found their home and Rasun remodeled the place to be much homely and attempt to create a nice environment for his wife.

Rasun’s Disappearance

One terrible morning, Azalea shook Norak awake with tears glistening in her eyes. She told him that Rasun left to find the Irongut manor many nights ago, never to return. Fearing their future, Azalea had forced Norak to move into a small burrow in the wilderness nearby halfling territory where they could hopefully live out their lives with peace, to pray for Rasun’s return. Norak was upset at the sudden movement of homes again, but eventually grew close to the outside world and often gazed out into the fields, forests, ocean, and mountains. He knew that he was a dwarf and wanted to truly become one, and not a soft halfling. He decided to seek out the mountains, but before he could seek out his dream, Aegis crumbled before him to the Undead, and boarded the ship to Asulon, unknowing of his future as a dwarf.

Description:

Norak is a short, somewhat young dwarf. He could be described as in his 20’s or 30’s in elven years. He has dark brown hair and long braided beard for his age. He wears beautifully crafted armor, the same type that his father used to wear when he was head guard of Kal’Urguan, with a few modifications fit to Norak’s build. Norak could be described as ready to take on the world and learn as much as he can about it. He is becoming stronger each day, working in the mines like he’s always wanted and practicing his axe skills. Yet Norak is kind and friendly learning these traits from his mother.

What is your Character's ambitions?:

Norak wishes to become a true dwarf, like his father and those other Goldhands. He grew up under the roof of his mother, and is sometimes teased for being too soft and not aggressive enough like a dwarf should. Every day he trains in the art of axe combat and mining hoping to become a great warrior and smith some day. He wishes not to live in a small burrow in the fields, but instead is longing for the great dwarven cities in the mountains, just like his father did with Kal’Alras.

Other Information about your Character:

Norak may have lived the life of a halfling, but that does not change the fact that he is a dwarf by blood and is on a quest to find his father because he has heard stories that he did in fact survive to Asulon and lives in a grand fortress with the other Goldhands.

Open-Response-Questions

Answer at least three out of five listed

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Adrenaline would fill Norak and he would bellow and leap out and charge the pathetic warriors with his mighty golden axe. By the way he was raised; he would not allow an innocent to be harassed in such a way, especially it being a peaceful halfling. Landing on one of the warriors he would attempt to first frighten them off. If these warriors would not be fazed by Norak’s display, he’d charge at them and hope for the best in this battle.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Norak would smile at the silly accent, and also offer up some ores he recently mined up. The man, offering up a grand diamond axe, would cause Norak to dig through his pack and pull out nearly all of his minas, yet come up with almost the required amount. Disappointed he would bid the kind man farewell, and take note that he would need to sell a few more ores because he wanted that axe!

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Norak would cautiously explore this hut. It isn’t the only one he’s discovered trying to make his way to his father’s fortress. He’s heard stories of bandits and laying traps to capture someone later. Norak would decide to leave the items in the chest alone, for he is not a thief. Plus he mines up way more iron than that in a day and does not even know how to wield a sword correctly! Instead, he would place a sign nearby warning the owner of this hut should find a locksmith because others might be a lawless thief.

I had second thoughts because of some of the short responses, but I see that you are a very dedicated player.
