PLEASE read the "EDIT:" at the bottom, I realize this is now 3 hours too early. Thank you!

Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

cmack1028

How old are you?:

I am 15 years old.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

I live in the United States, and am in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes, I have an excellent grip on the English language because I was born and raised in the US and I try my best to use good grammar. I don’t usually type in slang.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

I am just a fun, athletic gamer. I enjoy playing sports such as football, baseball and basketball. When I’m not hanging out with friends or playing sports, I’m usually playing Minecraft.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

I’d say I would be on the server about 15 hours or so a week, give or take a few.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

I've played many RPGs such as The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Skyrim, I've played World of Warcraft for a long time and also some Diablo III. I really love playing RPGs because they let you be who you want to be and give you the sense that you are playing someone entirely different from who you are in the real world. I know there is a difference between RPGs and Roleplaying in general, I like to change my mindset when I am roleplaying and say to myself, "Hmm what would my character do? Would he go kill him or offer him peace and alliance? Would he steal from him while he is not looking or would he have a chat and walk away?" I like trying to be someone entirely different when I am roleplaying and I really enjoy doing so.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I have lots of experience with RPGs as I said earlier. I've had many different roleplaying tastes from different RPG games, such as The Elder Scrolls game series, World of Warcraft and the Diablo game series. I believe I understand the concept of roleplaying and how crucial it will be to know how to do so.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is when you use personal knowledge and understanding of the game to help your own character in a certain roleplaying situation, for example, if a player was a “stupid orc” he could think in his mind rather then his characters’, allowing him to make better, smarter actions.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power-Emoting is when you say that you use something completely outside the roleplaying situation to give yourself an unfair advantage over players, for example, if a player said he has “a diamond sword that will make a nuke fall from the sky and kill everyone” he has now removed all the aspects of roleplaying in this situation and it is unfair to other players.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I think this server will be a very big, fun, welcoming place. I have never played on an RPG Minecraft server, so I am not aware of what will be in stock for me. It seems like a really cool server, and I’d love to join.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played on many PvP servers and many Factions servers. When I get bored of certain aspects in the game, I tend to jump around to different servers. I feel that I am not getting the wanted experience from Factions and PvP servers anymore, so I’d love try out my first RPG server. I think I will get the gaming experience I am looking for on this server.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

I have read and I do understand and agree to the rules. I really like the "No use of hacked or modified clients that give you an unfair advantage such as X-raying and Flying" rule because often my gaming experience is ruined by hackers abusing clients to cheat to their advantage. I also like the "No griefing" rule because I have put lots of effort in to some of my builds and it's really awful when somebody destroys them.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Yes, I do.

How did you hear about us?:

My friend told me about it. He said he knew somebody to used to play on this server.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

I have, this is my second application. My first application is here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/62957-cmack1028s-application-may-not-be-colored-sorry/

In-Character:

Character Name:

Huor Elensar, which is my name in Elvish.

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

Elf.

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Huor is a Wood Elf.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Huor Elensar, born into the Elensar family from the Malinor nation, was always though to be a good kid. He never really got into trouble, and he always helped others when in need. He is a very fast, agile and smart young Wood Elf with a long, narrow, seeming sorrow but handsome face and big, bright brown eyes and short, dark brown hair. His personality was always good, for he is very sly and has a very sharp tongue. He could probably convince you to do anything if he wanted to. He always made friends with ease, and he could befriend anyone. Huor loved being a good person. He never got into fights with other Elves and never murdered or stole from anyone in his life.

Huor was born into a middle class family, for his father was a traveling merchant and his mother wove clothes and made jewelry that his father sold. Having such a gift in the art of speaking, Huor made an excellent salesmen. His father used to take him around with him just so he could talk to the man buying the wares and make him buy a couple more!

Huor did exceedingly well in his studies. Because of his Elf blood, he was very interested in nature. The Elder Tree of Normandor was his home for several decades. Huor was always fascinated with gravity and wondered how the art of archery was invented. He knows it was invented and mastered by his ancient ancestor Wood Elves, and perhaps it’s just his Wood Elf blood that makes him love a bow so much. He used to spar with his friends and neighbors in the streets of Malinore when he was very young. He never could get used to swinging a sword around. But once his father got a bow in stock, it was like Huor saw a new light. Huor could hit an apple off the top of someone’s head at any distance! Being skilled in some type of combat skill opened Huor’s eyes to the world. Although he knew he might not need to use it much, he now feels like he can explore the world worry-free; for he can always draw back his bow in a bad situation.

Huor asked his father and mother when he was at the age he is now, 150 years old, if he was ready to go out in the world. Although his parents worried about him, they approved. Huor wanted to explore the world of Asulon. “Whenever you need a quick coin, you could always buy something from a stall and sell it for 15 coins more!” said Huor’s father. Now with the confidence to go out in the world, Huor is ready to get started on his journey across Asulon!

What are your Character's ambitions?:

Huor always wanted to become a master archer. He is good with a bow now, but he feels like he can improve so much more. He is hoping he can find the teacher he is looking for out in the world. His life-long dream is to discover (or create) a tree far bigger then the tree he grew up in, The Elder Tree of Normandor.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Huor’s favorite tool no-doubtingly is a bow. He grew up using the weapon. When his friends and neighbors were sparring, he could not get used to using a sword. One day, he found a bow in his father’s set of items he was trying to sell and instantly fell in love. He could hit an apple off the top of someone’s head at almost any distance.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

Huor is very skilled in archery and the art of speaking. Huor grew up using a bow and his natural Wood Elf instinct makes him a skillful archer. He is very gifted in his speech because he grew up listening to how his father would talk to people who were trying to buy some of his wares. Huor really benefitted from this because he can befriend anyone, or sell a guy something the guy has no need for.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

Huor walks over to the scene and tries to stop it. He knows he may end up getting injured, but it would be the right thing to do. Huor, while pushing the two soldiers back, away from the Halfling, says, “Will you just leave him alone? Here, it’s 250 gold pieces.” as he hands over his own coin purse. “Just let him be and it’s yours.” The soldiers walk away talking amongst themselves. The Halfing, appreciating what Huor did for him, tried to give Huor what the soldiers wanted. It was a coin purse, probably about 300 gold in it. Huor could not accept, for he said that he only did the right thing. The Halfling and Huor went to the nearest Inn, and the Halfling bought Huor a few drinks.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Huor asks the man what he has in stock. The merchant says, “Well I’ve got lots of clothes, some jewelry, and some weapons. Anything you might be interested lad?” Huor was having trouble hearing the man, for the river and the bustling marketplace had taken most of his ear. He wanted to ask the man to repeat himself, but he didn’t want to be rude. “What kind of weapons did you say?” says Huor. “I didn’t. I have a gold sword, half damaged but still has a few uses. I have a stone axe, brand new and ready for some chopping. And I have an enchanted bow, brand new, fires the arrow at a quicker speed to knock your foe back. Interested lad?” says the merchant. “I’d love to take a peek at that bow... I’ve never had an enchanted bow before.” says Huor. The merchant hands over the bow for Huor to see. “Wow... This feels good. I can feel the power within... How much?” says Huor. The merchant said the price in a faint voice, or maybe it wasn’t faint. Huor was still having trouble hearing him. Huor asked the man to repeat, and Huor was sure the man said 325 coins. “The price is a little steep... Maybe I can convince him to lower the price a bit?” thought Huor. “Alright, I need a drink. What do you say we head on over to the Inn and get a few bottles of mead and then come back for the bow?” said Huor. At the thought of the merchant getting a free a drink, he couldn’t pass up that offer. About 35 minutes later, the merchant was drunk. He could barely stand up. Huor, a bit buzzed and dazed, asked the man the price on the bow again. The merchant said, “Ehhh... Ugh... You’ve been a good friend... 195 coinsh and it’sh yours laddy.” said the merchant. Huor handed the man 195 coins he counted and took the bow and walked away, happy that he got a new bow. To this day, Huor does still feel a bit bad for deceiving the merchant.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Huor is not fond of stealing. He walks up to the hut and walks around the area, checking if the owner of the hut is around. As night quickly starts to fall, and there isn’t anyone in sight, Huor decides to get in the hut and stay there for the night. He woke to a strange noise, a grunt or a sigh. Although it’s hard to believe the loud birds didn’t wake him up earlier, he got out of the hut. As he was retrieving his things, backing up without looking, he bumped into something. He turned around as quick as he could, with one hand on his quiver, reaching for his bow, he sees he bumped into an Orc. This Orc didn’t look like the rest. He looked like he was... Kind. The Orc said, “Why were you sleeping in my hut?” Huor, fearing what may happen, took a second to think. “Answer me Elf! I haven’t got all day!” says the Orc. “I was just trying to protect your things. I found your hut near nightfall and I was worried if I leave some bandit will come and steal from the chest. I was just trying to help.” says Huor. The Orc took a good stare at Huor for a few seconds. “Thanks, I’m glad there are some decent people out in the world. Well, I’m moving my hut up north... If you want to join me...” says the Orc. “I’m sorry, I have a journey myself. I’d love to meet up with you in a city some time though.” says Huor, as the Orc puts out his hand. Huor and the Orc shake hands, and Huor gathers his things and heads east.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

As Huor introduces himself, he notices these men have quite a large cow pen. He also sees the river that would provide him with clean drinking water. Huor knows he shouldn’t deceive these men, for they are kind and peaceful. “What are you doing out here boy? It’s dangerous!” says one of the men. “I was looking for my hut... I got lost.” says Huor. “Well come on then, stay with us for the night. We can help you find your hut in the morning. Steak or pork?” says the cook. “Are you sure there is enough for me? I don’t want to just intrude and demand a meal...” says Huor. “Oh don’t worry boy. We have more then enough. Come, sit by the fire. I’ll get you some pork and some water.” says the cook. “Wow, that sounds great right now. Thank you so much for having me.” As he goes to sit down on a log. After a few minutes, he turns around to see what the cook is doing. He notices the cook is putting something on one pork chop. The cook then walks over to Huor and hands him the pork. Worried about what may be on the pork, he is afraid to ask the man what he put on it. “What if it’s poison?” thought Huor. All the men were telling Huor to take a bite of the pork, “It’s delicious!” said one of the men. “Come on, try it!” said another. Huor cut off a tiny piece of the pork and put it in his mouth, pretending to chew. When the men cheered and looked away, he spit it out. “So now, how do you feel boy? Are you getting dizzy yet?” says the cook. “Yes... I feel a bit..” says Huor as he gets up and starts running for the exit. All the men start screaming “Shoot him!” or “Get him!” Huor, now running for his life, gets enough distance and hides behind a tree. It is now evident the men were trying to poison Huor, and he knows that now. “Good thing I consume any...” says Huor in his head. Huor hears the screams get fainter and fainter until he can’t hear them anymore. The men gave up. Huor sees a cave and it’s just starting to become nightfall. He heads in the cave and spends the night.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

“Wow, I don’t want anything to happen to this town... It’s got nice people. Maybe I should help fight them...” Huor thinks as he starts walking over to the leader of the party. “I’m in.” says Huor. As the men start to head out on the road, night starts to fall slowly but surely. In a distance you can see a bright fire with the encampment the bandits have set up along the road. As the men start to get closer and closer, they can head the bandits. Some of them sparring, others telling jokes... “Alright! Listen up! We are approaching the camp now! Keep your eyes open! These men will kill you without cause or notice! Be careful, watch your step and be quiet!” says the leader. “Great. I don’t want to kill a man. If they are a threat I have to though... This is awful.” thought Huor. All of a sudden, a bandit screamed “Town guards! Get them!” And all the bandits came running out with swords, and one on the guard outpost with a bow. Huor runs to the side of the road and draws his bow back and releases, hitting the guard on the watch post in the leg. The man fell to the platform he was on. “I really hope I didn’t kill him...” thought Huor. As other bandits came charging at the group from the camp, Huor started rapidly releasing arrows, hitting bandits’ legs and feet, immobilizing them. “There is no need to kill them!.” says Huor. All of a sudden, Huor and the party hear the loudest, spine chilling howl they have ever heard. The man who Huor shot in the leg, on top of the watch post, made his way down to the camp. He let the wolves out. Realizing this, Huor ran behind a tree. “There are too many of them! I have to just keep shooting...” thought Huor. Huor hears the screams of the men in his party who are getting eaten by the wolves. Huor thought for a moment... “Are they loyal to them? Or do they just want a bone..?” Huor saw a nearby skeleton and shot it, took 3 bones and ran into the middle of the road with them in his hand. He got the wolves attention and threw the bones in the bandit camp. All the bandits were severely injured, and most of the men in the party were alive. Huor checked all the corpses of the deceased men, and he found the leader. The leader had been bitten to death by wolves.

Anything else you would like to say?:

I just hope that I did the application correctly this time and that it’s good enough to be accepted! :D

PS: I'm not quite sure if I did this too early, I heard from from a GM in game chat on the server say that after you get denied you can post 24 hours after your first application, so I hope everything is OK with this.

EDIT: I know this is 3 hours too early, I am sorry. I saw my last application was at 12 AM, I just realized it was 12 AM PST, not EST. My apologies. Please remove this, it will be posted at a later date. Thank you.

I like your enthusiasm involving RP. You also show a good understanding of it. A good job on that front, using your imagination and all. Your Meta-Gaming definition is perfect as well. It is the use of out of character knowledge in character, and you did a great job of supplying an example for that as well. Your Power-Emoting definition is the same. Spot on. You show a great understanding of the basic principles of RP. Your off to a great start!

pfeX3.png

Your biography is over two paragraphs, which is great. Along with this, it is two paragraphs of great material! It was a pleasure to read this. Not only that, but you have done a great job of also implementing server lore into your biography. The fact that you were raised in a family in Malinor, and where you wrote about the Elder Tree of Normandor, are great examples of you injecting server lore into that biography. Also, you show a good understanding of elven aging. Elves are not mature until around 120 years of age.

On top of all of these things, I really like how you haven't chosen to be the "Mr. Perfect" character. A lot of players come onto the server saying, "I am the greatest warrior of all time! I am the greatest mage of all time!" You have done a great job of making a realistic character.

VjZSD.png

You ORQs are not only over a paragraph long, but they are made out in Full RP. A great job with that. It is almost as if you have played on LoTC before. Your ORQs show your great understanding of RP and how to RP in a situation.

4WxvK.png

One of the better candidates I have seen lately! Welcome to the server! Cannot wait to see you RPing!

fjEJW.png

Please wait for a GM to implement you. This could take some time.

While you wait…Go and vote for the server to support it!

We all would really appreciate it.
