I am an Australian living in Hong Kong, a place I very much like to live. I like to sing, and my favourite subject as of yet is Chemistry.

During Summer and Some Holidays: 14 hours

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:

Role Playing is the suspension of reality in a game where someone pretends to be a character who really lives in the realm of which they role play in. No outside information may be brought into the game or you are METAGAMING, if you pretend your character is too powerful, smart or godlike you are POWERGAMING. These two things will get you banned on LOTC.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I do not have much experience in RP, but I have watched my brother play LOTC and I think I have a good grasp on the rules.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Taking information from the outside world which you should not know: For example taking someones name from chat before they tell you, taking information from an OOC chat, and having your character know it, etc.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Making your character more powerful, smart and godlike than other characters.

Example:

Bob shoots an arrow at AussieBlue at point blank range.

AussieBlue catches the arrow then makes Bob’s head explode just by thinking hard enough about it.

That is impossible in real life, impossible on LOTC, and not fair to who you are RPing with.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect the server will be an interesting role play experience of which, I have not had the pleasure of experiencing before. I hope to make good IC and OOC friends while exploring Asulon.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

KingsCraft: Too small, boring

Elsil was born in Laurelin in Aegis, where he lived with his mother (Yuln) and father (Lossen). He had a atypically picturesque upbringing, and he lived across the street from his paternal uncle, auntie and cousins. One of his cousins is Kalenz Uradir, a high elf who currently resides in Haelun’or.

Unfortunately, his lucky standard of living came to an end when the Undead attacked Laurelin. A stray blow from a human’s club to his head knocked him unconscious, and in an instant all of his childhood memories were robbed from him. (IE brain damage) Unfortunately his family was separated from him, but luckily a good samaritan human carried him to the portal allowing him to escape the treachery of Aegis, and continue on living in the realm of Asulon.

He was lost for some time, but eventually he ended up settling down in the human city of Enismor. It wasn’t the most comfortable place to live, since he always felt more superior than the humans, but it certainly was better than nothing. It was here he started to learn how to use a sword.

His time in the city ended abruptly when the House of Flay destroyed it. It was at this point in which he began to develop a hatred towards the other, non-High Elven races, and he spent many decades wandering from town to town, searching for a pure, perfect place for himself to settle down in. He thought he found an acceptable place when he came to the Elven city of Normandor, as the city had some High Elves in it, and their perfection at least made his time there bearable. He was content there for a while, but he always loathed the wood elves, as something about them always seemed inherently imperfect, and below his genetic level of purity.

He heard rumours of the pure city of Haelun’or (The Motherland) one day whilst he was in the market, and he was immediately entranced by the idea. As such, he packed his things, and is now on his way to starting anew in the Silver City.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

Elsil’s ambitions are to find, and make a new home in Haelun’or, where he can rediscover his heritage and the Mali’aheral way of life. Also, he yearns to spread the High Elven purity across many lands.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):

Prefers to use a sword, as it reminds him of the pleasant times he spent in Enismor. Also, he feels safe with a sword next to him, as none of the imperfect blights that the world is filled with can hurt him without him at least being able to fight back.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?

He is skilled with using a sword and has fought many spiders and skeletons with it in his time traveling around.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

(Up ahead on the road, Elsil sees two horrifyingly ugly Uruk brutes bothering an equally repulsive stunted excuse for a halfling)

*He suppresses a shriek of pure disgust*

Getting out his sword, he continues on the path towards the abominations, as it is the only safe way to his eventual destination of Haelun’or. One of the Uruks yelled something unintelligibly stupid, and that inherently bothered Elsil. How could you trust a brainless brute not to do something stupidly violent? He would have to be careful.

“I don’t want any trouble” Elsil shouted , “Just leave me be and I’ll let you continue on your way.”

The Uruks started to discuss with one another, and this made Elsil’s skin turn an even paler shade of white. What good could come of this illogical discussion?

Not waiting to hear their reply, Elsil runs into the trees, attempting to sidestep the violent obstructors.

Your character wanders into Kal’Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

(Elsil spies an old, stunted Human in an Alrasian market stall, after just coming into the city to see if it is the pure heaven he is looking for. Surrounded by foreign races, Elsil is obviously distressed by the hideousness which is all around him.)

“Would you like some food, Elf?” The old man croaked, “I offer the best food and ale within the walls of our glorious city of Alras. Isn’t it amazing, seeing all of these different races together in harmony?”

Spitting onto the human’s loaf of bread, Elsil replies, “This city disgusts me. It’s like a buffet of deformity, and I can’t wait to get out of here. And as for your food, I wouldn’t let that inferior pig feed touch my lips.”

“Well **** you.” The human replies, “Get the hell out of our city, you racist you!”

Gladly accepting the human’s offer, Elsil quickly ran out of Alras, and continues on his wandering journey.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

*Elsil is wandering through the wilds, and he spies a wooden hut. Inside is a chest containing treasure*

Elsil thinks to himself, “That treasure in there looks appealing, but it’s not worth the risk of encountering another race in the process of acquiring it. I better keep on going”

And with the comforted feeling that comes with having made a logical decision, Elsil contines on his way.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

*Elsil is dreadfully hungry and lost, and he hears the clatter of plates in the distance. Running towards the noise, he sees that it is a human trading camp. Under normal circumstances, Elsil would treat the humans as inferiors, and bestow upon them all sorts of insults. Having said that, he is extremely hungry, and so his logic dictates to him that it is the smarter move for him to get food and an orientation of his surroundings rather than the enjoyment of insulting the inferior humans.*

Elsil then goes up to the humans and purchases a meal, whilst making pleasant chit chat. After extracting his current whereabouts from them, Elsil then makes some racist crack about their inferiority, and leaves with the humans laughing, thinking that he was just joking, and not serious about his disdain for their race.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Elsil would immediately pledge his allegiance to the Legion of Haelun’or, and his commanding Sillumiran. He would gladly accept the reward, but he would have offered his allegiance to the Legion regardless. Following his fellow High Elves into battle with a smirk on his face, he is content that he’ll be able to kill some bandit scum.
