Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name:

audiotone

How old are you?:

Seventeen.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

PST/GMT -8. United States.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yep, I find correct spelling, punctuation and grammar to be important.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

Well, I'm a bit of an introvert. I spend most of my time on the computer. I guess what defines me most is my passion for game development. I've been creating video games for around 5 years now as co-founder of Siren Games.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

1 through 5 hours a day, or, 7-35 hours a week.

What do you know about Roleplaying?

I've honestly never gotten into much roleplaying before. I know that it's good creative exercise.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

The most roleplaying I've ever done is probably while playing Maplestory back when it first came out (not just playing the game, I actually did quite a bit of actual role-playing in game), and a few times in Garry's Mod. I guess some of my game development skills can be considered RP as I've made scripts for a few RPG games.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Using outside knowledge to empower your RP character. Some examples include: Using nameplates to your advantage, asking people/friends for coordinates/directions while OOC, and just generally gaining knowledge OOC and employing it in RP.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power-Gaming is basically enforcing your will unto people while RPing and essentially makes you invincible through unfair means. It implies your actions are successful without giving other RPers freedom to act on your actions. Power-Gaming also includes abusing game mechanics to gain advantage in RP.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

Judging by the world map it seems like a full fledged MMO if Minecraft were one. I'm pretty excited to see how things are structured.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I've played on a large amount of servers before, way too many to list. (I've been around since Alpha). Most notably though: Industrial Rage (Industrial Craft/Build Craft/Red Power server that you have to pay to gain access to.) and 2b2t (A massive anarchy server). I generally leave servers because there's not enough going on to keep me interested or because the friends I made on the server left.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Yes, twice.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

I promise to abide by the server rules, laws, forum rules, and teamspeak rules.

How did you hear about us?:

Friend referral.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?:

No.

Character Name:

Bungo the Borrower

Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

Halfling

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Warning: Kind of a long bio, but, I promise you will enjoy it. :)

“I don’t think this is a good idea. We should just get back to the party.” Whispered the small Halfling girl.

“Relax, Kivi. It’s the Blackmoon Festival. We’re supposed to be out causing mischief. Besides, old Bungo the Borrower isn’t dangerous, he’s just crazy,” responded her male counterpart, Marris. The two had just successfully snuck into the old hermit’s house. They’d heard rumors of his exploits. They knew he was an avid thief and adventurer and he was deadly with a dagger, but the favorite rumor was his complete lack of social skills. Most mature adults chalked this up to a bad case of Grish when he was younger, but any lesser educated folk claimed he was just plain nuts. This lack of social skills got him through day to day life, but it seemed poor Bungo could never say the right things; not even in the wrong times.

“Do you think he’s home?” whispered Kivi again.

The children knew Bungo lived alone but they never knew when he was home or when he was out. It was almost a rite of passage in Vale to explore the old Halfling’s house, and Bungo knew it. He was clever enough to set traps for the children to either scare them, or just challenge them into lurking further. He knew they would never reach his most prized possessions, but he allowed them to think they would.

“Nah. I doubt it,” came Marris’ reply. The children looked around the room. The main entryway hall was filled with trinkets surrounded by glass boxes. Every box was quite obviously connected to a trap of some sort. Most were not visible, but the children knew that Bungo’s house was as much a fun house as it was living quarters. The door to the next room was already open, and just through the door hung a group of large paintings. “Wow. Look at these old paintings. These must be of him as a child.” Marris stated. The paintings displayed a young, pale Halfling, frail in appearance with his hands in his overall pockets. His thick brown hair was unkempt and barely tucked under an old straw hat. He had to be no more than 25 years old in this painting, but it must have been painted 70 years ago. The children knew him now as an old Halfing with thick white hair, beard, and no mustache. The “Borrower” as most people called him was born and raised in Vale. He lived a very plain and uneventful life as a child. But as he rounded his adolescent years, Bungo met a unique friend who began to pull him into many different adventures; Most of which involved Bungo learning to “borrow” things from people. He had become a skilled thief before anyone had even realized their purses were cut.

“He’s almost as cute as you, Marris.” Kivi giggled. But before Marris could even blush a click was heard from above their heads. Marris had stepped back onto a wooden pressure plate which had blended very well into the floor. Instantly the children noticed a trail of red, glowing wire running across a ceiling beam to a large mechanism. The mechanism began spewing out a thick white string which immediately covered the two children making it nearly impossible to move. Then, just as they realized they had fallen victim to a trap, they fell to the floor, which then gave way, sending them sliding down a long dark hallway. Suddenly a loud crash was heard and the children realized they had fallen into an ice cold pool of liquid. The stench was unbearable. The string washed away and they were able to keep themselves afloat. They were free, but they had fallen into the sewage tunnels underneath Bungo the Borrower’s house. Once again, the old Halfling had defeated another foe without raising a finger. Bungo the Borrower was crazy, but he was not stupid.

What are your Character's ambitions?:

Bungo has lived his days. Bungo's only ambitions left are to continue working on his farming, and to continue drinking as much ale as his belly can occupy.
