Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm in my penultimate year at secondary school. I really like playing football, swimming and reading good books, particularly Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Lord of the Rings. Of course, I like to watch films and am an avid gamer!

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 7-8 hours a week at least

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is when you leave reality behind and assume the role of any character you wish (within the confines of the game).

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have been on many Roleplay servers on Minecraft and played far too much World of Warcraft!

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is when you use information acquired when out of character, in character.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power-emoting is when one player destroys the freedom that another player has assumed when playing on a particular server. For example, if Player A stabs Player B and steals their Gold that's power-emoting; Player A has reduced Player B's opportunity to play uninterrupted.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to be better than all the other Roleplaying servers.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: MassiveCraft, HeroCraft, SolarRealms and many others whose names I can't remember. I left them because after a while

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

How did you hear about us?: I searched for 'Best Roleplaying server' and this one came out top.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No, this is my first application.

In-Character:

Character Name: Hendric Fletcher.

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): High Elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Hendric has emerald green eyes, fair brown hair and a slight tinge of gold in his skin. Since he works for the High Prince he wears a headband to show he is one of the staff in the palace. Hendric was born into the family which worked The High Prince.

Hendric worked for much of his youth doing simple tasks like cleaning and washing up after the feasts of his master. He thought that he would not work for his master to become happy, as in the Lore, God did not make the Earth for Fun or Play. Hendric then decided to become an archer. He trained for many years and then finally became a fully fledged hunter by the age of eighteen. Not being skilled with a sword he lacked defence while using it.

To Hendric's dismay he was caught unaware and was held hostage by two thug-Orcs. Because the elves did not like to mix or learn about the other races, he did not have a clue what was going on. The next thing he knew he was in a small metal cage being drawn along by a mistreated horse. The Orcs often poked him with a stick or jeered at him as he tried to get out. When the Orcs set up camp for the night, Hendric took this as his only chance to escape. Underneath his headband was a small coil of wire, to his amazing luck he picked the lock! He then ran for his life all the way back to Normandor. This took him a long time. When he arrived his once loving parents were annoyed at him. They were annoyed for breaking the family tradition of working for the High Prince. So, for the first time in his life, he lived on his own.

What are your Character's ambitions?: To become a hero among the elves as a keen huntsman and to repair his relationship with his parents.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A bow and arrow.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Using his bow and his agility

Other Information about your Character: Hendric despises Orcs after his episode in which he was nearly captured, and still has a large scar from when the Orcs scraped their clubs.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst travelling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

*Not knowing what a Halfling is* ‘Oi, don’t play rough you two! Lay off the kid’ says Hendric. The Orcs laugh to each other, the smaller one then says: ‘He no is kid, he ‘alfling!’. Hendric says nothing as they start approaching him. Hendric Pulls out is bow to intimidate the two offenders. His plan fails. He shoots the biggest and most fierce Orc in the chest. Because of the Orc’s heavy armour, the arrow just lodges itself in the Orc’s on his breast plate. Hendric then spits in both the Orc’s faces and runs as fast as he can do avoid them.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Hendric, to appear like the warrior hero he wants to be, buys the merchant’s expensive wears and weapons, to maintain his hunter persona. He then thanks the merry merchant profusely.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: First, Hendric searches for any other people in the surrounding area, he would not like to be known as a villain, but he would still like the riches in the chest. He then thrusts the loot into his bag, takes the sword in hand and walks away calmly as if nothing has happened. He later sees an old man going into the hut he had just looted, the man looks distraught , then he runs towards the man and gives the loot back he then lies: ‘My man, I found these riches, might they be yours?’ Hendric gives the riches back to the man. The old man is delighted and gives the golden to him. Hendric may not have gotten all the riches but he is closer to the hero he wants to be.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Hendric runs. He trusts no one, and hides under some shrubbery and spies on the camp. They seem innocent. Although it seems likely that they won’t harm him, he avoids it altogether. Curious, he comes back to inspect, but this time with his band of hunters. He then finds out they are peaceful folk, and decides to trade with them merrily.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?: Hendric, because he wants to be a Hero, immediately signs up and asks if he can do the whole thing solo. The leader says no, he still joins the guards and enjoys himself and makes conversation with them, until he sees the bandits. Immediately he stops speaking and silently runs to the bandits and shoots them in their legs, he then, using the rope round his waist, ties them up and brings them back to the leader of the party, and demands the sum of money.

Reasons:

• Your role-playing and metagaming definitions need to be expanded to several sentences at least.
  
• You cannot be born into royalty, or a servant to royalty, without the players explicit permission. If you have indeed obtained permission from Shiftnative, please have him PM me and I will retract this reason.
  
• You need to include more server lore in your biography. Show us that you are at least a little familiar with the places and major events of our world. You can research the lore on our Wiki here.
  
• Your character does not suit a high elf. High elves have a rather specific role-play, and you should be familiar with it before joining them. Also, you are required to reflect your character's appearance in your skin. This includes gold-tinted skin that is typical of high elves.
  
• Powergaming in your Open Response Question. Your character cannot single handedly disable and tie up every member of a bandit camp.
  
• Villainous activity in your Open Response Questions. Actions such as thievery (stealing the items from the chest for personal gain) require an accepted villain application to commit. Make sure you read over the villain rules (here) so that you are aware of what you can and cannot do without applying for a villain application.
  
• Your Open Response Questions need to be expanded. They are all required to be at least one paragraph, and written in full role-play. Some ways to expand on them would be to explain in more detail what your character does, and also explain why they do it, and "what's going through their head" at the moment. You should also include both detailed actions and dialogue in your answers. You should not include "if"s in your response. You are narrating a scenario, not listing the possible courses of events.
