Born in Karik, Eldric is in his 8th season or 59 in Human years. He is independent and stubborn preferring to do things himself rather than to rely on others. When he isn't working, Eldric can be found in the tavern with a red face and a mug of ale. He enjoys having a good time and is always eager to learn more, especially about his craft. He has dark hair, small, dark eyes, and pale skin, probably from all the time spent underground.

He works as a smith just as his father and his grandfather did. His mother worked as a miner until she was injured in a cave in. Eldric spends most of his time in Karik, only traveling to the surface to observe the latest Human and Elven weapon and armor styles. He learned to wield some of the weapons he made and although he is not a warrior, he is fairly proficient with an axe. Being a smith, Eldric always works to improve his craft talking to miners to find the best quality materials for his goods.

What are your characters ambitions?: Eldric aspires to become a smith renowned throughout Asulon. He hopes to become a part of the Smithing Guild or even to serve on the council in some capacity.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

As I stroll through the great city of Arethor, I spot a merchant whose stalls are filled with many goods, most interestingly armor. Always seeking to gain more knowledge about my craft, I approach him to see his wares. As I get closer I see his long beard and he is unmistakably a fellow dwarf. Approaching him I greet him, "Hello sir, may i see your wares?" "Of course!" he replied, "Only the finest armor for a fellow dwarf." I browse his ware and see they're old and rusted but spot an old helmet. I toss it to him, "I'll take this one." "That will be fifty Minas", he grunts. "I'll give you 25." After a short while of haggling back and forth we settle on 35 Minas and I return to Karik with the helmet.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Upon seeing the Orc and Dwarf I loosen the axe in my belt and approach the two. "Is there a problem here?" I say to the Orc. "This doesn't concern you." the Orc snarls, "Keep walking." As I begin to walk closer, the Orc turns to face me. "What are you two discussing?" I ask. "I said it's none of the business." replied the Orc who had now turned to face me. The dwarf now behind the distracted Orc pulls out his axe, ready to use it should the situation escalate. The Orc steps forward drawing a wicked looking blade from it's sheath, "I think it's time you someone taught you how to speak to an Orc." he snarled. The Orc began to approach menacingly. The Orc began to raise his blade, "You really shouldn't have gotten invo..." he started to say as he collapsed from a swift blow from the handle of the Dwarf's axe. "Thank you friend." I said to the Dwarf holding out my hand, "I'm Eldric." "Name's Oker." he replied as we started down the road towards Karik.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?:

I start towards the old man and begin gathering up his Minas as he tries to rises. He looks onward with dismay as I put them into a new bag and draw my axe. Suddenly I turn towards the wood and cut off a stout yew branch, about the man's height. I then return to them and help him to his feet. "Hello sir, I'm Eldric." I say to him, handing him the stick and coin purse, "Where are you off to?" "M-M-Malinor" he stammers surprised that he has his Minas let alone his life. "Better not to travel alone." I say to him. "Yes, quite." he replies, "Would you care to travel together?" I chuckle, "Certainly! I am surprised to find you alone. Dwarven culture would never allow it. We are bound by honor to respect our elders." "Well in my day..." the old man begins as we start slowly towards Malinor.
