His family was made up of Mali’ame farmers living outside of the borders of Malinor. He was an only child and didn’t have any friends. He made himself a tree house and that is where he spent most of his time besides the farm and the house. His mother gave him a longbow for his birthday. His father had taught him to make arrows out of sticks and bird feathers. After making himself some arrows he shot at targets in the yard, but when his family was in dire need for food, he would hunt for large game such as deer and lost cattle. His family was threatened to lose their house because they couldn’t pay their monthly taxes. Young Finrod wished to join the Malinor Highguard. However his family could not afford to lose him. When he turned 26 he got an offer for an unknown job. He accepted immediately. His manager gave him small quests to gather supplies from abandoned houses. Then he was told to go out and rob a man’s house then burn it down. Finrod did as told. He gathered all he could carry. Then left a burning torch on his carpet in his family room. He received news the next morning that a Sariant had died due to the fire. He quit his job after a bounty had been made for his head. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: I walk up to them, politely greet them and ask them to stop. I tell them a joke or two to and try to take their mind off of what is going on around them. I grab the child’s hand and send him away from the group. I turn to the elves mocking him and then say “look at you all, making fun of a child, you should all be ashamed of yourselves.” I then go off to find the child and question him about what happened and ask if I can help him find his parents. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: I run towards him and ask him if he is okay. I bring him to his feet and brush the dirt off of him then help him pick up all of his coins. Then grab a spare sack from my pocket and put the coins in it. I hand it to him and walk him to shelter. Once I get him to the nearest town I offer him some of my spare food and water then talk to him for a bit. After that I will politely let him know that I must get back to my duties. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: As the man calls me over, I look to the cart’s various wares. A quiver of sharpened arrows catches my eye. As I look to them, the man smiles and offers me a price of thirty minas. I check my pockets, and notice a plethora of spare minas. I look up to the man and begin to speak, “Thirty minas will suit me just fine.” He offers to haggle, but I decline. I reminisce back to my childhood, and relish the fact that I can now buy expensive goods without worry. “No haggling needed. Just the arrows.” I hand him the coin, and head off to fire a few practice shots at the range.
ski_king3 0 Share Posted May 11, 2013 (edited) Under Review Well, I guess I need to say I'm sorry. I looked through your app and saw that there was nothing in the section where your bio was, as well as where you said "Na" in the question asking if you'd posted your app to the Minecraft forums, and after that I pretty much stopped reading your app. I did not realize you had a bio, just in the wrong section. I'm sorry, that was my mistake. Below is a complete reviewal of your application. First of all, you do need to post your application on the Minecraft forum post, found in the application format thread. Also, if you have had roleplay experience in the past, please elaborate on what it was. As far as definitions go, both your roleplaying and power-emoting definitions could use a bit of work. The roleplaying one is less important, but the power-emoting could be made more clear, although the example was good, I would say. Your bio is pretty good, and uses some lore, which is nice. However, there's a few things I'd like to point out. For one, you cannot have your character performing villainous actions in your bio. So robbing a house and burning it down is not allowed, as you would need a villain application in order to perform those evil deeds. Also, a Sariant most likely would not be in Malinor, so it would be a little odd for one to die in the fire. And then my last thing is what happened with the bounty? It would be difficult to join the Highguard of Malinor if he was a wanted man. As far as your skin goes, wood elves traditionally have skin that is tan, darker than that in your skin. I'm sure someone in our skin sub-forum would be more than willing to make some minor edits to make it tanner for you. I also feel like your ORQ's could be expanded a bit, at least your first and second. Add a bit more dialogue, perhaps? Make it seem less like a summary of a series of events, and more like the events are happening as I read, if that makes any sense. I'm sorry again for my mistake, I should have read your application more carefully. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. You may reapply in 24 hours following the post below.
