Role-playing: Role-playing is what it says, playing the role of someone you are not. It is when you become someone you made up and “step into their shoes.”

Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is when you do research outside of the game and use it to your advantage in the game.

Power-emoting: Power-emoting is when you make someone do something they may not want to during role-playing, such as, “I stab you, and you die.”

Full Name: Ahern

Current Age: 107

Sub-race (if any): Wood Elf

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

    Ahern was born to a wood elf couple in Malinor.  They named him Ahern because they thought he was a blessing to their family.  His parents were merchants in Malinor.  They taught him to barter and haggle for prices.  He also learned how to be very eloquent.

    Ahern’s father took him hunting as a child, but Ahern did not like hunting.  Although he was a decent marksman he found the thought of killing an animal just to eat it distasteful.  He thought it had no purpose when they could easily get food from the farms.  He made an oath to himself never to eat the flesh of any animal unless it was a life or death situation.

    When the natural disasters started to occur in Asulon, Ahern’s parents took him with them on a ship.  Ahern’s parents died on the ship.  Ahern made it to Anthos, but not without almost dying from the plague. Half of the people on the ship died, but Ahern was blessed to have survived, and he escaped without the scarring.  He tries to avoid the open sea whenever possible now because it reminds him of his parents death and his near-death experience.

    Ahern’s first act in Anthos was to travel the land.  He explored and made friends in all the races.  He discovered he had a talent of making peace and friends.  Many of his friends were mages.  Ahern always liked the aspect of magic, but he has never had the conviction to stay in one place other than Leumalin for long enough to learn.

    Ahern respected his parents and their trade, but he always wanted to do something more.  He wanted to serve his people to his fullest potential. He hopes to make it onto the high council of the elves one day. He would like to continue his travels though, so he would like to start as an ambassador for Leumalin.

Ambitions for the Future: To become an ambassador for Leumalin and from there make it onto the high council and learn magic.

Personality: He is a loyal friend and he is an eloquent elf. He does not eat meat except when it is a necessity of life.  He is deathly afraid of the sea and the plague.

Skills: He is of average skill with a bow and arrow and above average skill in speaking to others.

[b]1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?[/b]

 

Answer: I walk over to the older elves and explain to them this is no way to treat an elven child.  All children are a blessing and should be treated as such, and if they do not share my point of view then I will take the elven child and find his or her family and explain the them the events that took place.

 

[b]2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?[/b]

 

Answer: I help the man up, and I help pick up his coins without taking any.  I then escort him to the nearest city, so he may rest for the day.

 

[b]3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).

 

Answer: The trader says, “You sir, come over here and have a look at my wares. I sell just about everything.”  Ahern says, “What is your name friend?”  The trader then tells Ahern his name is Peter.  Ahern says, “Peter I noticed your cake there how much will you sell it for?”  Peter says, “I will sell it for 50 gold pieces.”  “50 gold pieces! That is outrageous.” said Ahern, “I will buy it for 30 gold pieces.”  Peter reluctantly agrees to part with the cake for 30 gold pieces.

The only thing you have to do is fix your darn Q&A's. They are just a little to short, try to rp the situation. You can play as both your character and the /merchant/older elves/whatever/.
