  1. Haense is 80% lords and ladies and 20% commoners. At what point do people decide that its too much lol.

hidden somewhere on one of the About Us pages, for every player, there is basically 10 npcs out in the world that add to the population. so if you have 20 nobles in haense, they have 200 un-souled peasants out and about. these unsouled peasants are effectively sociopathic homunculi, with no sky-god to give them awareness, awaiting the day a malicious ET possesses them to crack down the doors of the rich estates and consume their Lords and Ladies within

It's just how it goes. We actually made lots of farmhouses/Waltonburg for the express purpose of encouraging commoner roleplay, and were hoping that Waltonburg would create its own sort of distinct identity.

'Nobility' in lotc is not comparable to real life past the titles and lands. How I've always imagined it, is that to be 'noble' simply means that you have an established bloodline distinct from the common one that has been achieved through merit or success. The true nobility on lotc are the royal families.

However, I also wouldn't say that it's a problem, either. There's no need for a small ruling aristocracy to rule over a vast pool of uneducated masses. LotC doesn't require people to work the fields 15 hours a day, clean cisterns, or sweep the streets.
