Henry Arthur Haverlock, the Duke of Blackworth and a vassal of Ravenmire, pens a letter to Edward Butterfield. @CharmingCavalier
"Good Sir, I hope this letter finds you in good health. As a member of the Ravenmirian Government, I wish to inform you of some discrepancies that we have taken note of regarding the map. Do note that I have a deep respect for your line of work, and this letter serves merely to inform of minor errors."
"First; Ravenmire's capital, Ravenmire City, is further to the north and sits exactly along the coastline - If you were to visit it in person, you shall see that it sits beneath the cliff and uses artificial supports to extend out and slightly into the Northern Sea."
"Second; Ravenmire's borders. Ravenmire as of late has seen gradual territorial expansion - My own fief, the Duchy of Blackworth, sits right along the northern border of Norland, and so it would be appropriate to display the borders of Ravenmire to encompass the majority of the peninsula which we sit upon. Allow me to send you the borders which our Kingdom currently holds."
On the back of the letter is attached a sketch of the Kingdom of Ravenmire's borders, including the two vassal fiefdoms of the Rhosmark and Blackworth.

"ABORT IT," hissed some ancient, undead thing - crumpling the missive. It furiously stomped on it as another spam-letter entered through the window. "WHY DO I KEEP GETTING THESE!?"
Henry continued to send the ancient, undead thing more spam mail. Henry probably just had the wrong address, but he didn't really care. Woe, Spam be upon ye!

"LETS GOOOO!" said an ancient Myrinian citizen named Rolf the Peasant, who was far too old to even do anything to support the Ferrymen. Even so, he turned to his great-grandson and thusly said: "You see these folk, Rolf the Third? You ought to be like them."
The centurion then promptly died in his sleep, content to know his old friends were doing their proper business once more.

Henry Arthur Haverlock, the Duke of the newly formed Blackworth, smiles the sun's smile. He then turned to his various Bannermen and spoke thus; "This new realm we find ourselves in is quite promising. Let's do our best to ensure it thrives, ey lads?"

"Ah yes, the ancient Balian-Norlandic friendship established during the reign of King Ragnvald persists to this day." Said Harald Eiriksson Ruric with a smile on his face. He then prepared to go beat the shit out of a Balianite in order to complete his task of defeating one warrior from every human realm.

"I am very confused as to what this course of events means for the Heartlands. However, it will be interesting to see how it plays out." said Henry Arthur Haverlock from his newly established domain of Blackworth. "I wish James well, I met him maybe once or twice when I lived in Aaun."

The House Ardennes denounces Henry Arthur Haverlock as Regent
Henry Arthur Haverlock frowns, wondering if this particular segment was just poor wording or if he was actually being denounced. He did not know, but either way he did not wish his newly-named Kinsmen ill-will. As for himself, he packed his belongings and bid his kinsmen adieu as he and his bannermen prepared to move to the north for a more quiet lifestyle.
"My beloved Nephew, I did my best for you. I wish you and your Uncle all the best - I will write to you frequently. Please do not hesitate to reach out."

"THE PROPHECY!!! THE PROPHECY FORETOLD!!! THE RISE OF THE EMPIRE AND THE RETURN OF THE TEALED MEN!!!" said an absolutely insane man as he cheered the return of the ferrymen from his home in the Highlands.

"And so it begins." Henry Arthur Haverlock, Regent of Talentine said to himself within the walls of the County. He then went off to his business to prepare for his wedding the next saint's day.

One of my biggest debates is the inclusion of the Human religions, for example, some of which seem to be clear fantasy analogs of real life religions. I sort of want to steer away from that in my adaptation. Admittedly I don't know a lot about Canonism or the Qalasheen faith but I'd rather go for something that doesn't seem so clearly rooted in Catholicism or Islam. I know that would upset all of the Canonist and Qalasheen players, though, and those have a strong history on the server too.
Going off what others have said above me, it definitely depends on what perspective of the server you're taking. However, if you want to try to avoid the more irl-rooted religions such as Canonism or the Qalasheen faith, I personally would recommend focusing northwards on the Red Faith or, if you feel inclined, diving deeper into LOTC's lore and rediscovering some of the old Cults/Faiths that are either underground or not as explored. There's also the various religions that the Nomad groups follow such as the Turghits (Though their faith may be based off of the Tengri faith, I'd dive deeper before doing that) and the Skanarri, who worship a similar but unique branch of the Red Faith. There's quite a few Human faiths you could work with that unfortunately are not as mainstream, but would be very unique to see in a D&D campaign

Pontiff Caius, within his usual travels to Norland stared towards both Harald and Halfdan blankly as they frothed at the mouth and tried to be relevant in matters of Canonist faith. He points to the missive for them to gaze upon "It says people of Canonist Creed, folks. . . OF CANONIST CREED. I don't care about you having tattoos if you are an Elf or Norlandic pagan!"
@JavertHarald, who had talked to himself within his own house, was very confused why the Canonist Pontiff was approaching him in the street. He blinked at the Pontiff - perhaps he was mistaking him for someone else? Nonetheless, he shrugged and went about his day. "That was...an incredibly interesting experience."
Halfdan on the other hand, who was not a Norlander nor even lived in Norland, heard none of this. He was too busy seething over Canonists in his tent alongside his Nomadic Skanarri comrades, as zealous priests do. Even so, given his...less than enthusiastic nature towards Canonists, he probably would've tried to cut the Pontiff's throat had he been in his vicinity.

"I...What? Just, what?" Harald Eiriksson Ruric said as he read the Canonist missive from his home in Norland. He didn't even have a snarky remark per usual, he was just straight up confused by this decision.
Meanwhile, a zealous Skanarri man by the name of Halfdan prepared to go get his skin inked purely to spite the Southerners. He then proceeded to go on a 5 hour rant about the Canonist church, which was likely very irritating to his fellow Skanarri. @DeadraSlayer@TheShinyHodzic @Pegleg_Bob @Zqppy

"And so, our ancestors died for nothing." Henry Arthur Haverlock said as he reflected upon his Sedanian ancestors and their life's works simply being snuffed out in an instant. "Here's to another hundred years of 'unity'."

Henry Arthur Haverlock, the Regent of Talentine, frowned as his seven year old Nephew was invited to the ball and not himself. He promptly put the missive in a drawer and forgot about it as he had numerous things to worry about - including his cows being slaughtered by bandits.

"GREEN AND BLUE I DRESS, EAGLE ON MY CHEST, GOOD TO BE A REINMAREN! GOT MY HEAD UP HIGH, FOR MY FLAG I'LL DIE, I'M PROUD TO BE A REINMAREN!" Ludwig Bishop recited the ancient Pro-Reinmaren chant as he heard the news from his house, alarming his pregnant wife and sleeping daughter. He quickly rushed to clean his equipment in preparation for war.

A Grey Sea Snake
Rickard Gustav Vanir proclaiming his last will and testament to his Great-Grandson, 173 S.A.
“God, how long has it been?” Rickard thought to himself as he gazed around the dimly-lit room which he sat in. “A hundred and fifty-five years… God, what a life.”
“Grandfather?” a teenage voice spoke, releasing Rickard from his mind. The grey-haired man turned to the voice - His Great-Grandson, Theon Vanir, was sitting to Rickard’s right. Rickard looked at the quill and paper in the boy’s hand Rickard hummed softly, remembering what he had been doing prior.
“Sorry lad. Lost my train of thought.” Rickard waved a frail hand about, as if dismissing his thoughts. “I have nothing more to add to the paper. That is all.”
Theon nodded as he set down the paper to dry and stood to leave the room. Rickard let out a cough and called out to the boy.
“Theon, come. I am not quite done.” Rickard hoisted his frail hand up, pointing to the turned boy. Theon turned to look upon his Grandfather and sat beside him once more. “What can I do for you, Grandfather? More water?”
Rickard laughed, coughing into his hand once more. He then shook his head. “No boy, but thank you. There is something I must request of you personally.” Rickard reached his hand out, which was gently grasped by Theon’s.
“In my life, I have…neglected my historic duties. I abandoned my homeland when our family was demoted and never once turned back. It is too late for me to make right the wrongs, but it is not for you.”
Theon bore a confused expression on his face, a tear beginning to slip down his cheek. “What do you mean, Grandfather?”
“I have taught you all I know about House Vanir and our history, but our status as a house…it is gone. Many believe us to be extinct. Theon, you must change this. You must return to Haense, reclaim our ancestral title, and restore the House of Vanir.”
Theon looked taken aback by his Great-Grandfather’s request. “Grandfather I…What you ask of me-”
“I have full faith in your capabilities, Theon. Go to Haense and pledge your sword to them. Do what I did not have the courage to do.”
Theon took a deep breath, wiping the tears from his face. He then bore a determined look upon his face. “I will do it, Grandfather. For you, for my Father, for all of us.”
Rickard smiled, lightly tapping Theon’s hand. “Thank you. You have given me peace, now go. I wish to embrace the light of the almighty God.”
Theon gave a half-smile to Rickard, then slowly released his Grandfather’s hand. The young Vanir then rose to his feet and exited the room, leaving the elder Vanir to pass in his sleep an hour later.

A Discussion of Legitimacy - Peter IV, Holy Orenian Emperor
A depiction of the Claimant-Emperor, Peter IV
To all fellow Scholars of Humanity,
As I scour the records of human history, trying my best to understand the complexity of the politics of our ancestors, I have come across an interesting conundrum involving recent history. As many know, the Holy Orenian Empire in its latest rendition was dissolved following the bloody Brothers' War. Yet, one question has remained in an official capacity unanswered. Was Peter Augustus, also known as Peter IV, a legitimate ruler of the Holy Orenian Empire and thus worthy of being included among the annals of Imperial Rulers? I find myself stumped by the question, so I therefore reach out to my fellow historical scholars to bid you to write replies to this missive to discuss and debate this question.
Signed,
Albert Richstaff
SpoilerThink of this as an in-roleplay discussion post as opposed to an OOC one. Please feel free to write elaborate replies, I'd love to read them and I will respond back! I also encourage you all to respond to each other as well to keep the discussion lively!

To Cleanse the North

"And so the time has come. Our lands shall be purged of the heretical filth - Glory to Ravenmire! Long live King Bo!" said Henry Arthur Haverlock, the Duke of Blackworth and a vassal of Ravenmire. He then went off to begin assembling his bannermen and knights - Blackworth would ride to war.
