Once all have been properly distributed, the guests may lift their lanterns upwards towards the skies, resembling the Virosi’s flight into adulthood! The Aevaris Talonii HISTORY The Aevaris Talonnii traces its humble beginnings back to the Haelun’orian Republic, where a Sillumiran named Ellisar wed a medic and tavernkeep named Aestenia. They started their family during the republic, and it was during this time that they befriended another Sillumir named Glynfir. Ellisar and Aestenia helped him learn to reconnect with the citizenry as he had been a child soldier and raised with only a first name and no ties. The winds of change that later blew through Haelun’or and cast down the Republic led the family to move to Haense and Glynfir soon followed. It was in Haense that Glynfir would become an officially adopted member of the family. Haense treated them well, but as generations passed, the need to live among other mali became more apparent. This prompted a move to Fenn and then eventually Celia’nor, where nobility status would at length be bestowed. Family life picked up a more rapid pace, with marriages and business ventures coming to pass. VALUES Though life has changed much, core family values have remained. Two of the most prominent being honor and service. One should strive to do what is right and remain mindful of those to whom allegiance is owed. In most nations where the family has resided, at least one Aevaris has held a government position. This is not to say that the family has remained rigid in its views, as time living among different nations has shaped beliefs as well. Such has manifested in a departure from some of the more narrow mindsets from Haelun’or and a belief in the future of elven unity. Balance is also something that is encouraged, as depicted in the sigil by a sword and a book. Just as Ellisar and Aestenia are a soldier and a medic, respectively, so too have family members gone down one path, the other, or a completely new one. No matter the chosen path, they are encouraged to learn necessary skills from other disciplines. Whatever is needed by the nation, the family will seek to learn and so education has become a value as well. Another focus that has developed due to the guiding hand of Glynfir’s wife, Saphielle, is proper etiquette. Court was new to the family upon moving to Celia’nor and becoming nobility was certainly an adjustment. Being the Silver Seneschal upon marrying into the family, Saphielle has been able to set a proper example and assist in the integration with courtly life since. An emphasis is placed on saving proper face and being mindful of actions and their implications. This is done ultimately with the hopes of setting a good example for other Talonnii. An element of superstition has entered such considerations as well. This has been especially prevalent since Veralya Wynasul’s publication of her contemplations on the stars and their constellations. The seasons and associated star formations associated with one’s birth are often taken into consideration when a path or additional occupation is sought. Enterprise has persisted as a focus as well. From the early days of Starpool’s Aevaris wine reserve and Ellisar architecture company to more recent efforts, the family seeks to do its part to contribute to the Talarian economy. Moving forward from the days of the establishment of Celia’nor, to the newly established Talar’nor, the Aevaris Talonii remains strong as ever. Thus, there will be both a disciplinary system and biweekly noble gathering to further attain what was set out by Ivarielle so many years ago. N O B L E M E E T I N GS Headed by the Lady seneschal in her majesty’s place, the noble gatherings will entail any necessary and cultural strides this nation must take. Attendance is mandatory for each head of every noble Talonnii, with any absences noted by her Highness. The noble gatherings will consist of a range of topics decided upon by Her Highness, no voting will take place, and each person present at every gathering must come to a decision for every topic that is discussed. Input is valued by every person in attendance, any petition, or suggestion that benefits the nation will meet the utmost support from Her Highness. Noble Summons are typically headed by his/her Highness, but in the event that they are absent, the Silver Seneschal will serve as their proxy. It is imperative for all Talonniian to be aware of the importance of these meetings, and unexcused absences will be noted, and if continued with no representative in your place, can result in the stripping of your noble title. If the attendee finds themselves to leave early due to any particular reason, it is advised that they bring along a representative to take their place once they depart from the palace premises. This will not only consist of duties, but also restrictions on privileges which the nobility receive. The responsibilities of each Talonnii is as follows: Each Talonnii, and their respective leader, are to contribute to celian society in any way possible. From taking political positions, to even having the most minute of careers, so long as it benefits the Celian populace. Each Talonnii, and their respective leader, are to uphold the cultural standards Celia’nor stands for. If a Talonnii is to involve themselves in affairs, or an altercations that brings shame to their respective title, they will be taken into question. If such behavior continues, they will undergo the disciplinary measures from the crown. Each Talonnii, and their respective leader, are to aid Celia’nor, even in the most dire of situations. If a Talonnii is found to be inactive in their duty of serving in war, or aiding their nation in war, they will be taken into question, and undergo the disciplinary measures put in place by the crown. Each Talonnii, and their respective leader, are to stay loyal to the crown, and the people. Any Talonnii that is to be found guilty of treason will immediately have their titles and privileges stripped from the crown, and depending on the severity, will result in the ordered execution of their houses leader A Talonnii that is also found to be committing atrocities, or abuses on the common folk of Celia’nor will also meet a similar fate, having their titles rebuked, and those involved in said atrocities subject to punishment. Talonnii’s that have the title of Evarir bestowed to their leader are to be given the responsibility of ensuring the prosperity and rights of their feif’s populace. Talonnii’s that are found to be negligent of the responsibility in ensuring and upholding the safety, prosperity, health, and goodwill of their fiefdoms subjects are to be taken immediately into question, and have their titles rebuked, alongside the rebuking of their claim over their given charter, either for the crown, or whoever the crown deems fit to rule over the fiefdom. Talonnii’s that are granted the privilege of holding their own entourage, are to oblige with mandated limitations on their militia. Entourage’s held by a Talonnii are to all be enscripted into the celi’diraar, with their loyalty primarily falling to that of the Mordu’lar, and Crown. Any Talonnii that exceeds the limit granted to their title will be taken in question by the crown. Soldiers are tasked with the civil duty of overlooking their fiefdom, and specifically ensuring the safety, prosperity, health, and goodwill of the fiefdoms residents for those of Evarir Status.
