The fact that we've existed in freebuild this long and there's only a few landscars is a testament to the fact that server-wide freebuild is possible. Just leave it to the NL's to enforce build quality standards and this can be an entirely hands-off affair with little to no moderation involvement.
i think the minimal landscarring (ignoring ice high way) may come down to the fact that everyone has stopped playing while waiting for temp map to be over
