  3. ((I apologize for the delay. I still have about a month of school left, and also due to the fact that the academy is still being built thing are causing things for the Ministry to slow. However, I assure you that when I am out of school and the building phase is completed, there will be an explosion of activity, and so I ask you all to be patient. It shall be worth the wait.)) 4. The problem is, none of them can be removed at all.
  5. Everything here besides the use of netherwarts does not require lore.
  6. Maybe not all at the same time - but consecutively.
  7. What about a series of apparition events across Anthos? The two already proposed being only a few.
  8. ((Forgive me, I'm busy OOCly and I'll get to responding to your apps and meeting those people in game sometime soon.)) News on the construction of the Academy Due to space limitations, the area for the Academy has been moved further down the road, across the river. Masonry and supports have been started, and following is a preliminary sketch made by our anonymous architect of the main courtyard:
  9. An individual who currently wishes to remain nameless has begun to correspond with me on architectural plans for the Academy. Construction shall begin once our plans are completed and the Jarl of Kal'Halla brings the resources he wishes to gift us. ((I'm going to be a bit busy in the coming weeks, AP tests and other things, so PM me if you need me. Activity for the Ministry will exponentially grow once we hit summer.))
  10. I'd like to cite the two previous posters as examples of what I was talking about.
  11. Add this to the Man Attraction section
  12. Overall I like the lore, but there is one issue I have. I've seen dozens of statuses and posts about how people say they will use this to make a ghost of their permakilled character. Because in essence, this lore gives them that power - to make a dead character interactable again. I feel many players, especially veteran ones, already are or will be drawn to this lore. You did mention the requirement for "Ghost Applications", but that only weeds out players who would abuse that power. How do you propose to limit the number of ghosts themselves? Otherwise, I can imagine a day in Salvus where I see ten ghosts of permakilled characters.
  13. MC Name: PtahWithin Character Name: Briarspoken Does this character already have a VA (Y/N): No I want my character to be turned into a Dread Knight (Y/N): Yes I want to become apart of your group because: The whole idea of the Dread Knight I find fascinating: a living suit of armor that has an unquenchable desire to slaughter and burn. In contrast to the standard fantasy monsters of say zombies or skeletons, a Dread Knight has an amount of free will. That they so willingly commit themselves to such terrible acts makes them all the more malevolent. What can I bring to this group? In terms of RP, Briarspoken is my viking/celtic-ish human who has a deep love of life. Despite his brawn he is a pacifist, and to see him transform into such a hideous, soulless thing would be very interesting to see. In terms of me, I am an experienced RPer and have been here since the first day of Aegis. I am familiar with combat roleplay, as another of my characters was the former Major of the Alrasian Order - as well as many other spheres of roleplay, as I have played a variety of characters since. Time zone: EST (GMT -5)
  14. Positions in the Ministry have been shuffled: Alumni have been removed as a position, and there now exists two tiers of scholarly positions per department. The application has been edited as such, and you may only apply for either Pupil or the first tier scholarly position. To the Halfling Bartley Wildpipe, Your application has been reviewed and you may find a time to meet Preeminent Savant Ptah Remneal within the Cloud Temple Library for a last series of questions to solidify your admittance. News on the location of the Academy: The Academy site has been established, in a clearing to the right of the road connecting the Cloud Temple to the Great Nation Crossing. Lucius Murmillo, Jarl of Kal'Halla, has offered very kindly to assist us in construction without requiring any form of payment and not having us enter into an entangling alliance.
  16. Congratulations to the admittance of Pupil Taeleh'avern and Pupil Delonna Aeléyèlsa. 17. It does show good character to wait for the opinions of others before making such an alteration. But I can say with a sufficient degree of confidence that a version of this lore with the potential to bring back permakilled characters to the living will not be accepted.
  18. To Guy, Royal Chaplain of Salvus, I thank you for the offer of land, but unfortunately I must decline. The Common Clauses state that the Ministry shall not enter into entangling alliances, and a gifted area of land within the Holy Oren Empire qualifies as such. The Empire itself has enemies, and us accepting your offer would make us a target for such people as well. Certainly the might of Oren could keep such people at bay, but we cannot predict how such an involvement with a nation as you propose would end up in the future: it is conceivable that the enemies of Oren could gain strength over time, enough to do harm to those it sees as Oren sympathizers - namely, in this hypothetical situation, the Ministry of Contemplation. Instead, we intend to build the academy on entirely neutral ground. As for the Department of Thaumaturgy, I understand the value of controlling those who use magic who could potentially do great harm to the people of Oren if they so choose to. The Department of Thaumaturgy is hereby forbidden from practicing their arts within the lands of the Holy Oren Empire. As for promoting the study of sorcery, of this I openly admit. However, the Department of Thaumaturgy would likely only attract those who already intend to study magic. The Ministry would never dare to break our own Common Clauses and commit aggressive acts on extramural forces with magical power. In this way, those who are taught by us are much less of a threat than those who would be taught by those of perhaps less restrained character, or perhaps even taught by such individuals to use their magic to fight Oren. If you have any further inquiries on the activities of the Ministry of Contemplation, I shall respond with haste and truthfulness. Signed, -Preeminet Savant Ptah Remneal.
