Minecraft User Name: BoogerBuster
Character Name: Brunhyldir Sarafand
Background/History (Chronologically and must be at least 1 paragraph long, but no longer than 4 paragraphs):
Brunhyldir is an orc who grew up in a small tribe, containing very few people and low food and water rations. His people were forced to live off of cacti juice and scorpion meat, until suddenly production flourished. Wood started to grow; making gathering of iron to make tools with much easier. But the tribe shaman felt an uneasy plague coming. Soon, a gang of bandits raided the tribe, stealing all of the supplies, and killing several people, including Brunhyldir’s parents.
He was tortured by the bandits and thugs that captured him from his home and held him hostage most of his childhood. In fact, when Brunhyldir was being dragged out of his house by a skinny little bandit, his jaw was forcibly broken.
He had to live on the scraps of his captors for 2 years, until finally the Oren guard found the hideout and rescued him. Two of the soldiers there, who were married, took Brunhyldir in and raised him, and taught him to speak proper english, and always fight for good.
But Brunhyldir had still never forgotten what had happened to his real parents. After his human parents let him be on his own as a young adult, Brunhyldir strayed toward darker paths, following Iblees for guidance and becoming tainted. But, once he finally realized all was lost after disobeying Overlord Freyj himself, he began to believe Aeriel again. Brunhyldir did many things, helping the Oren Guards, becoming a pirate, building New Terriko, and participating in many battles, on the Ascended’s side. One day, though, Brunhyldir’s life way changed forever.
Sage Sue was in Al’Khazar, and, after cracking a few funny jokes, Brunhyldir came on Sue’s good side. Sue invited Brunhyldir to help build their city, Haven. Of course, Brunhyldir accepted. After aiding the Ascended, and telling some of his great adventures to Riizu himself, he was invited to be a soldier of Aeriel. He accepted. Brunhyldir served as the city guard, and became an Acolyte. Then, one day, he and Riizu came upon an idea. What if he were to join the Undead – as a double agent? It would give the Ascended the upper hand, and let Brunhyldir serve even more honorably for Aeriel.
Brunhyldir and Riizu staged a battle in which Brunhyldir killed Riizu, causing Tyrion, the Undead leader, to have no choice but to invite this great and terrible orc into the Undead. The Ascended’s plan had succeeded! But, over the months, Brunhyldir’s connection with Aeriel deteriorated. He disappeared, and eventually went mad. But now, he has returned, with his connection re-aligned, ready to get back to guarding and helping the land he's known since he was born.
Good Deeds [Atleast 4 Occations]:
Helped to build cities: Brunhyldir helped create the city of New Terriko, with no obligation or payment in mind, and also did the same with Haven.
Fought the Undead: Brunhyldir has killed many Undead and their followers. He has fought in several battles, and knows his way in combat.
Gone through Priest training: Brunhyldir went under the guidance of High Priest Hightower, and learned most ways of the Priest, and received training and discipline. For one of his Priest tasks he had to convert someone out of Iblees grasp, and he succeeded.
Served the Ascended and Aeriel: Brunhyldir joined the Undead to help the Ascended receive the upper hand in battles and surprise attacks.
Has been in the Ascended in the past: Brunhyldir was an Ascended Acolyte before he joined the Undead as a double agent. He was the first Orc, too. He is known to be trustworthy.
Helped an old lady across the pathway: Probably the most important deed of them all. Brunhyldir has aided many elderly ladies across the street.
Character Flaws/Weaknesses: Brunhyldir loses strength when Aeriel cannot watch over him. When he is in the Nether, for example. He also has a steel jaw, which some may think is a flaw, but it is not. It helps chew Undead bones.
Why you belong in Theology/Scholar/Warrior/Commerce?[Explain the abilities of your Character]: When Brunhyldir was in the Ascended in the past, he was in the Warrior sect, and served as the First Guard of Haven. But with all this time to think about his upcoming recruitment, he has also kept in mind that he is an excellent writer and speaker. He was raised by humans, so his grammar isn't restricted to that of most of his race, and he loves to write and tell/catalog stories.
He also received (at least basic) religious training from every race in Aegis, especially the Humans. So, with his writing and his religious and protective training, he also wouldn't make a bad priest either.
Lastly, he has known many merchants, from the ones that own shops on the sides of the kings road to the owner of many of the Oren shops in Al'khazar. He knows how to be "suave" and negotiate with buyers and sellers. He is also very organized, and likes to see stuff in a nice, secure place. Therefore, he wouldn't mind being a Banker (Commerce) either.
Brunhyldir will go to whichever sect will best benefit the Ascended, whether it be Scholar, Theology, or Warrior. He has a preference, based on his overall skill, but he doesn't mind doing any of the sects:
#1 choice: Warrior
#2 choice: Scholar
#3 choice: Theologist
#4 choice: Commerce
Rationale [What is your characters mindset, why does he go out of his way to help others]: Brunhyldir knows that there is great reward – spiritual and physical – when he follows the light. Defending Aegis will lead to great peace, and from there we can make the world an even better place. Helping others will lead to prosperity for all. When there is prosperity everywhere, everything prospers.
How do you determine right from wrong [At least 1 paragraph]: In order to stay incognito while in the Undead, Brunhyldir had to master the art of deception. He had to know when to speak, when not to speak, what not to speak of, and when other people where scheming. He knows body language and speech. He can tell if someone is lying, or if they are simply in a bad situation.
But, there is no right or wrong. There are opinions of what is right or what is wrong, but overall, there is only justice, life prosperity, and peace.
What are your characters views on the following statements (At least 1 Paragraph):
1. Cephalus defines ‘justice’ as speaking the truth and paying one's debts. Socrates quickly refutes this account by suggesting that it would be wrong to repay certain debts—for example, to return a borrowed weapon to a friend who is not in his right mind.
My answer: Justice is a totally different thing to Brunhyldir. Although returning ones debts and being truthful is always very important, Justice is really bringing peace to all who live and breath.
But to answer your question, being honest and paying debts is always important. But if a debt was dangerous or unwise, like the one Socrates stated above, Brunhyldir believes it would be wise of him to return the debt. But if the "friend" starts killing little babies, Brunhyldir will do a great debt to everyone by pacifying him.
2. 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?
My answer: The answer I have is to face the misfortune. Letting things bother you or hurt you will not help you. You must act --whether that is changing yourself or the situation-- so that these troubles are resolved.
Taking a risk is sometimes neccesary. But if Harpies are torturing you, why let them steal your bowl of fruit when you could set a net trap? Of course they could get out and just get it over with and kill you, but who knows. The trap might work and you can eat all the fruit you want. Like bananas.
