I've written a lot about that very thing in my big ole posts before, actually. It gives us concrete limitations and structure that roleplay fighting takes for granted, for one. It also makes combat more alarming and definitive, thus lending more logic to avoiding fights. Right now, RP fighting enables us more than anything ever can.

The vote count doesn't so much matter to me as does the strength of the arguments presented. I suggest focusing on reason over sheer numbers.

PvP default was the rule in Aegis. It worked pretty okay. A lot less complaining about powergaming. We could give it another shot.
