Now, let me explain what the above means. That chart shows the progression of gaining skill in Runesmithing. You start at level 0 and then gain points to reach the next level. After each level your points are reset and you have to gain another amount to reach the next level. After you gain a level you have to wait a certain period of time before you can gain more points. So, if I'm level 0 I have to get 100 points to get level 1. After you reach level one your points go back to 0 and you have to wait one day before you can get the now 150 points required for level 2.
Now, there are some prerequisites to learning Runesmithing. One, I recommend being a Dwarf though this is not required to my knowledge. Two, you have to be Level 100 in Blacksmithing. And three, you have to be introduced to it by a Runesmith level 6 or higher. But, you may be wondering "How do I get Points?" and "Who are the smiths who can introduce me?" Well, these will be answered in the next sections. This method will help make becoming a master Runesmith a hard process taking at the very least 3 weeks and a total of 4000 points to become a Master
How to Gain Points
To gain points you have to do a number of things. Start smelting cobble, iron, or gold, OR make fire charges and then RP in emotes things like *begins to form the runestone* etc. Be creative. To help you know how many points doing each gets you I have another wee chart.
Smelting 4 Cobble – 1 Point | Full Stack – 16 points
Smelting 1 Iron Ore – 1 Point | Full Stack – 64 points
Smelting 1 Gold Ore – 10 points | Full Stack – 640 points
Making 1 Fire Charge – 5 points(Lvls 1-5) 10 points(Lvls 6-10) | Full Stack – 320/640 Points
Known Runesmiths
This section is just so you can know which people are actually Runesmiths in Asulon and know what level they are.
Arbrek Starbreaker ((zac20169)) – Level 10
How to Avoid Powergaming
To avoid Powergaming do not RP any combat runes. When smithing you can RP things like *puts a enchanted edge on the sword's edge with the rune* and then just RP that the sword never breaks when OOCly you just repair it all the time. IF you absolutely cannot stay away from combat then use Firecharges as "Lesser Fire Runes" and a Flint and Steel as a "Greater Fire Rune". However, I recommend you just stay away from combat with Runes as often people will complain and Runes will no longer be something to bring fun RP.
Application?
So if it's decided that Runesmithing should have an Application, here is one I've come up with.
MC Name:
RP Name:
Race:
Blacksmith Level:
Bio (At least 5 sentences):
(Include which smith introduced you and other relevant info)
PLEASE NOTE: This is a WIP post which I plan to add more to at later times when I have more ideas to help.
