  1. Personal rant time. Honestly, I just don't see the point of why this universe exists. 99.99% of fantasy universes pictures the heroes of the realm fighting against some greater evil force. This is the main driving force of the universe and the reason for players playing. I realise this is not the point of LOTC only, we also want politics, cities, RP other than war and so on, and I really like all that stuff. My main issue is LOTC has taken my real life existential crisis and also placed it within the LOTC. Why do I play my character? What is the point? There is no reason for me to play? There are no clear-cut conflicts in the world? LOTC and more specifically Axios needs some core lore and some awesome antagonist. Anyone. This gives massive chances for the event team to do awesome lore events. Also, the map is too big. I personally tried to advocate "Terrain anomalies" but even with this, the map seems bleak and boring.

  3. Give the server a shot again, but don't expect the glory days long gone.
  4. It seems like most races have just been simplified to the point where you might as well make a human? Orc RP is not complex anymore and of course, the race currently struggles with active players. Elves don't have as much of their rich culture anymore, they are basicly humans with some fancy houses and a couple of elvish greeting sentences they use. Dwarfs I can't speak much about since I don't really follow that race, but from what I have seen and heard they also don't really offer anything special. Why would you pick anything other than the human race, not only do they have more activity by a lot. But you can get most of the stuff you get with other races. TL:DR the races are no longer special and unique.
  5. I don't know if we have some info on what the ratio of timezones are on the ET? In general, we need more GTM's to get on in the GTM hours and RP. The problem currently is that when I get home and I could log on and play with GTM's, there are only 30-50 people on and I know RP will be hard to find. Also, I don't know this for sure, but I would guess that there are very few if any events at all in the GTM timezone. Basically, GTM's have no real incentive to log on, there are almost no players on, no RP and no events. GTM's need to get on and more ET members in that timezone is needed so people have a reason to log on.
  6. Making this information viewable and open to the public is a great start to changing the problem. From someone who is GMT+1 I can say that we lack players. I have quit the server in the past and stayed away for years simply because if I wanted to be a part of any event or actual RP I would have to stay awake until very late. Now I have more options to actually do this, but it still sucks at times and I can see why younger individuals would have trouble finding good RP without destroying their sleeping schedules. It's a terrible thing because only with more GMT's can we retain other GMT's but we can't get GTM's because there are so few GMT's. Geeesh.
  7. I command that you watch this series! 6 Seasons in total, if you watch non stop, no sleep, not eating it will take just under a week. Personally watched the series 2 times and just started on the third. LOST!!!
  8. Every single roll has a specific set of ingredients and also with that a specific name. Naming my favorites would make no sense. But I do like shrimp and crap. Tuna is also great. I personally stay away from salmon a bit. It's okay but not my favorite fish. Avocado is great and so is cucumber, two things you will find in many different rolls. At actual restaurants, you might also find more delicate stuff like eel. If you have little or no experience with sushi I recommend you try finding one with an "all you can eat sushi bar" so instead of ordering menus with set rolls, you can choose yourself and also get a wider range of rolls and other sushi types (:
  9. A lot of people seem to distance themselves from sushi. But this stuff is the best! I personally refused to eat it for years without trying it first and that was a massive mistake. Obviously from Japan, but you will be able to find sushi restaurants in almost every major city.
  10. Okay, so the race isn't dead. But surely we can agree that it struggles in these times. And in context to the topic of the thread, it makes sense to argue against a new race with how the orcs and dwarfs are currently doing?
  11. So you are admitting that very few new players are joining you? I realize that this means more serious roleplay, but I tend to measure deadness in the amount of active players, not the quality of roleplay. Actually wondering if I should return to my orc roots of Aegis, how many active orcs are there currently?
  12. But you should not take them separately? And what about the darkies? Splitting the dwarves into different clans wouldn't be fair either? I am very aware that people saying the races are dead won't help. But I didn't really set out to save the races with my original post, I used their stagnating activity to argue why we don't need another race.
  13. I agree that the data might be shaky, but surely the word false can't be justified? The elves have stagnated in recent time, but I am still fairly sure they are represented a lot more than the orcs and dwarfs?
  14. Okay lol? Not only are there next to no new players joining them, but I also hear that very few veteran players of the races are around?
  15. Not talking about my half-sized friends. Talking about the green skins and mountain dwellers.
  16. The massive undead attacks back in Aegis were always fun.
  17. It's an awesome idea that I have seen many times before. But we already have 2 official races that are completely dead. We don't want to split our community even more.
  18. ~.- maehr'sae hiylun'ehya -.~ Sin'tril walks slowly through the foliage of the trees. He stands at the end of the plateau, looking out over the silver city. In his mind, he sees the faces of his brothers, now gone. Arche... Arcleo... Gildor... Imin... and so many others. The city is beautiful, but the marble and foundation, now so horribly scarred. The lights have faded and the laughter has died out. Sin'tril turns his back to the city and walks through the forest. The leaves sway gently and seem to comfort him. He kneels down in front of the big tree surrounded by a pool of shimmering water. He reaches down and unsheathes his sword, laying it in front of him. He reaches into the pocket of his old vigil commander uniform and takes out a note of paper. "Now our lights have faded" "Everything that held me has now fainted" "Bury me in my forest, for it is here I belong" "Now my light is fading" He puts the note back in his pocket and then gently grips his sword. ... The leaves sway gently in the night as Sin'tril takes is own life. His body laying in the upper district's forest, in a pool of blood. Upon searching the body, a clear cut across the throat and a small note of paper would be found. ((I decided to kill off Sin'tril. I feel pretty burned out by LOTC in general right now and Sin'tril was no longer fun)) ((I will still be around in the various chats, forums and TS. But I might take a small break from RP))
  19. The amount of information available to everyone is amazing. +1
