  1. *Arn looks up from the parchment, a wide smile etched on his aging face.* "What is this I see about needing guards? I'd be happy to oblige!" *Looks intently at the man, awaiting a response.* ((It'd be really great if this could be done sometime shortly after the fourth of July, otherwise I probably won't be able to attend. :)))
  2. ((Ah, alright good to know. Hope to be seein' you soon in game...three more weeks.))
  3. ((Rather off topic but...Knight Commander? Did Burk step down, Braxis?))
  4. ((I assume that Boria's sphere of control would only be that which its walls encompass, seeing as how we are currently hurting for citizens?))
  5. What I'm trying to say is if it's obvious the dwarves have come for war, ie taking our forts, it wouldn't be metagaming at all for Alras to gather its allies as precaution.
  6. Of course, you could always do what Angelos says and keep Piggy as an alt for when you need a break. Don't kill Piggy, he's a comic relief that LotC really needs sometimes.
  7. Never get rid of piggy, he's just so...so...piggy.
  8. What I mean by this is according to Kjell's playbook they're capturing places like the Vigil Keep before they attack the main city. That would, of course, not go unnoticed by Alras and therefore it would not be RP to say 'no allies'.
  9. A. Your term of no allies is not at all RP, if the dwarves are seen constantly raiding and capturing forts all around Alras why would Alras not gather its allies? And B. Considering you're dwarves, technically you're the "wee feckers" xD
  10. Removing his heavy fur-trimmed cloak from its rack, Arn strides over to the hearth where a hearty fire crackles. He spends a few moments staring into the empty flames, eventually he looks up and grabs the fine steel arming sword from where it hangs along with his small round shield. He then crosses the room and opens a chest, retrieving his chainmail shirt and hardened leather chestplate. A small while later, Arn steps into the howling winds outside his home, he begins the long trek to his destination. ((Truly hoping to be able to join you on this adventure, I'm on vacation IRL however and the time I can spend online is rather strained due to it.)) Edit: ((Woah, just realized how old this post is. Haha! Well, is this still up and going?))
  11. ((In my opinion, all war claims should be this well-written. I applaud you, good sir.))
  12. I hardly know you, but it's always sad to see a fellow member of LotC go even if it is not a permanent goodbye. Farewell and may you find happiness in your time away!
  13. I, Arn Jarlsson Lord of Boria, sign this charter in full support of the grand City-States of Levanthus.
  14. What I meant by Ascended not coming back is that either A. they do not receive their powers again or B. they do not have the ability to teach others to be Ascended. I did not mean to inhibit RP nor try and say that you can not do either A. or B., it's just a scenario.
  15. So, I got to thinking after reading some posts and such and I had an idea. What if the Undead were to return but the Ascended did not, people would rally to the only living Ascended in Asulon. These Ascended could perhaps choose a few champions for each race/nation (good roleplayers that they know) and teach them what it is to fight Undead, how it's done. These warriors would not earn the power/magic of the Ascended but they would have a vast knowledge on how to destroy the Undead. The champions would be sort of like trained Undead-slayers, the phalanx of the battles against the Undead. I dunno...it's rather undeveloped but if it gets positive feedback I'll be happy to take it further.
  16. Who wouldn't want the halflings/hobbits to stay around? Without them, the orcs might just starve to death...
  17. I have a poll question, should we bring back a sort of common enemy like the Undead were? I've always thought that they brought the community together and they sure made for some interesting RP.
  18. Miscellaneous Potion of Regeneration: Arrow causes burning condition: Clay grenade (causes small explosion): Insulated redstone wiring x8 (Can be placed vertically): Grappling hook: Furniture Creates a chair: Creates a table: Creates a wardrobe: More to come hopefully...
  19. Truly, I wish we'd never moved. It was great at first, averaging 300 people at peak hours. Not so much at our average high of 150 to 180 people. I'm lucky if I find a city that has ten people in it at once...I miss the old days with the smell of RP in the morning (xD), walking up to Alk Khazar or Alras, and just knowing that you had a bustling city to thrive in. Perhaps when it's not four in the morning I'll have it in me to post something constructive...
  20. I personally do not agree with this idea, anybody who's ever worn armor and been hit can tell you that it still left a mark. Completely negating all damage until the armor is useless is not at all a realistic way of going about things. Football players still get broken bones in their pads, soldiers still get hit through the gaps in their vests, and knights surely got cuts and bruises through the gaps in their armor. If you make it so that a man in diamond armor takes no damage until his armor is broken then you're essentially giving him god mode to go around on a killing spree. Not to mention the fact that people are going to start going through suits of armor like hotcakes and repairing a suit of diamond armor isn't cheap by any means.
  21. Arn looks up from his maps and various other parchments spread before him in his tent, a letter being chief among them. "I do believe it is time I be paying Alras a visit..."
  22. *Arn looks oddly at the fellow* "What about all these numbers, lad? Hmm...he's obviously got something wrong with him, best get him off to the Monks!" *Takes him by the shoulder, guiding him in the direction of the Temple*
  23. Is this guild still active and such? If so, I may consider joining when I get around to creating my new character.
