  1. Krug reads the sign slowly, then laughs. "Agh Gorkil am klompin' bofe 'tupid clans, gurhurhur! Dat am nice pitcher of uruk, doe. Mebbe me make Pok draw me. Hur."
  2. Hobgoblins appear in general fantasy. What proof do you have that the idea/name was taken? My point is, Cataris didn't invent the name.
  3. I feel that disabling PvP would increase the number of powergaming mages and invincible warriors running around Asulon. Currently, if you encounter an RP invincible human, you can challenge them to an arena fight, or pull out an axe, and they stop powergaming. If that was TL;DR, then... removing PvP removes an objective way of deciding the victor, and replaces it with consensual victory and loss, leading to more freedom for players who refuse to lose.
  4. Krug nods. "Iv lat am gibbin' tu War Uzg, tribuut chezt nub am need. Iv it make easy, dat gud alzo."
  5. Krug'Gorkil sits in the sand, dipping his finger into ink and tracing rough lines on a long and wide plank of wood. He squints as he writes the letters, then smiles, satisfied. He places the sign Below the scrawled message is a messy scribble that is probably Krug's signature. After making sure the message is properly secured, Krug goes to the storehouse to grab another large plank, gets more ink, and begins to write the message again, to pin up in Jutra's farm. ((Rules for tribute chests: 1. The tribute chest must be clearly marked with a sign detailing the names of all inhabitants of the house it belongs to, and it must be easy to tell which house the chest belongs to. 2. The tribute chest must be locked with LWC. All Yazgurtan must have permissions to open the chest, and the High Yazgurtan must have admin permissions (in /cmodify, put an @ symbol prior to the name, ex. /cmodify @UltraRed))
  6. Krug looks at the halfling hungrily, but says nothing. The times he makes eye contact with the halfling, he smiles ominously and licks his lips.
  7. Nations evolve, towns and cities grow and shrink. If no-one wants to be in Karik, perhaps there's something that's driving them away. If 80% of your population ditches your city after an alternative becomes available, I doubt it'll be easy getting them back! Good luck all the same.
  8. More... than one... list... Eh, digital looks cool, but I don't mind either way. You'll be getting a lot of requests, and it'll be pretty tough to digital-ify all of them.
  9. Am I on the list? Apparently I'm on the list. Er, Krug's basically a green Arnold Schwarzenegger. Bald, maybe a small topknot. And muscled. Have I mentioned the muscles? Skin: www.minecraft.net/skins/UltraRed.png Other distinctive stuff: Red eyes, small topknot would be black. Three tusks, very heavyset jaw.
  10. Nice application, welcome to LOTC!

  11. ((In the first post, why/how are you wearing a mail shirt while swimming?))
  12. I can't help but think you double-posting the terrible application was intentional...

I tip my hat off to you, sir.

  13. In real life, there is much discussion and conflict arising from religious disagreements. Instead of searching for what is objectively true, perhaps create a new set of beliefs, and spread them IC! You might get some great RP... :)
  14. Then I would advise doing something IC to get them to come back. Don't try to get another Big Bad made just to make Dwarves return, do something IC! If no one wants to return, don't try OOC to create an opposition to fight against, your characters should be trying to solve this problem themselves!
  15. This could easily facilitate grinding. Even if exp gain could be turned off or lowered in the area, I still don't see the point. Just because it's been done in books doesn't mean it will work in RP, and the GMs are encouraging inter-racial conflict. Why introduce a Big Bad that will only distract a nation from outside RP?
  16. Storyboards are pretty cool. I would love to help in any way I could. :D
  17. Loved it. Although I think Ned's character is just called Lud, but I'm not sure. Great story anyway!
  18. (( Why metagame when you can ask IC?))
  19. I would suggest you edit your post, add [being edited] to the title, and change up small bits of your biography, removing any references to magic. Hopefully, it won't get judged before you finish editing, and you won't have to wait 48 hours!

  20. Epic, epic application. However, magical abilities are supposed to be learned in-character, and some Application Team members will deny applications on the sole reason that the characters described have magic abilities. Other than that, epic application, and I wish you the best of luck!

  21. Some tips about your application:

I've seen applications denied because the characters have magic. I suggest you keep in mind that you do not enter Asulon with an established character, you enter Asulon TO establish a character. Ideally, you would learn magic ingame.

Also, parents being killed by Orcs is... a rather common backstory on this server. You might want to change that, i...

  22. Krug sees the note, and picks it up off the ground, squinting at it and trying to make out the writing. "Luusferr... hole... wear... fanstik" Krug laughs. "Tupid cannub wear hole!" he shouts to all those nearby, gathering strange looks, before setting out on the long walk back to Strigzgoi. Along the way, he wonders to himself how he could have possibly responded to the letter, if the writer only left his name.
