    How extensive does lore have to be in terms of fleshing out origins?

      Depends on what it is. Something like an ancient order of wizards that lived in Aegis and influenced events would need a lot, to make sure it doesn't conflict with anything. Other things like creatures usually need little.

      What about the meteorite that hit Kalos? I'm currently using that rock as an object which provided power to a specific individual... Would I have to explain why the meteor did such?

      You could, which gives it more credibility. But then again, keeping the origins vague and stating that no one really knows but theories abound, for example, keeps it flexible for future developments.
