    Actually you might be right. Either way, the lore is kind of messy and it's rare to see people actually RP out the effects of ageing so it's fairly moot anyway. The curses override the blessings anyway, so a half-elf half-human still has human lifespan and elven infertility.

    The curses are not genetic, they are magical. There are no dominant and recessive curses. Any offspring will inherit the curses of both parents. Elves do not have a longer life span, they have the same life span as orcs and dwarves. Humans are the only race cursed with short lives.

    Characters that have the blood of two (or more) races have the full curse of all races they're a descendent of. For example a half-human half-elf would have a short life and have very low fertility.

    Blacklisting merely prevents you from crafting a certain recipe and can be undone very quickly, hardly something that will take you out with a bang.
