  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGfFYa-YiSs Born of the First Merchant, Tungdil Goldhand. Said to be descended from The Merchant Father himself. With Gold and Silver flowing through your body. Priceless gems adorning your clothes. Coin filling your pocket. You are of a Noble Clan. You are a Goldhand. The Goldhand Clan is at its core a family of merchants. Those with Goldhand blood have long been amongst the best and most successful vendors in the Dwarven realm, but the clan is not limited to just merchants. The clan includes accomplished architects, soldiers, political leaders, and treasure hunters. Distinguished as a Noble Clan for their accomplishments and long standing support of the Dwarven Nation, Goldhands are proud of their lineage. The blood-bond within the clan is incredibly strong and Goldhands look out for their family members and are willing to fight ferociously for their honor. A rock by itself is nothing more than a stone, swept around by the wind and water. A thousand rocks fused together by unbreakable bonds are a mountain. Storms pass it by and the sea breaks against its shoals. To a Goldhand the Clan is everything. The Goldhands take this to heart. Each individual member will pass on, that is the way of the world. But the Clan stands strong and does not fade with time. As such no betrayal of the Clan will be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to: stealing from the Clan, killing another Clan mate, dishonoring the ancestors, failing to acknowledge direct orders from the Clan leaders. In addition betraying the Dwarven nation is highly frowned upon and may mark the offending Dwarf as a sworn enemy of the Clan. Any oath sworn in blood is binding and cannot be broken without expulsion from the Clan. Such oaths should never be undertaken lightly. Similarly, any oath sworn on one’s ancestors carries the same weight as a blood oath and should not be broken. Disputes between Clan members are brought to the Clan leader or older Clans members immediately. Arguments and disagreements will be solved without going to an outside source unless absolutely necessary. All Clans-mates must respect one another. We are all related by blood. Remember to respect your elders. They’ve lived longer than you, and certainly have more knowledge stored away then you might give them credit for. We fight as we have always fought. We will build as we have always built. We will feast as we have always feasted. We are Dwarves. Our traditions stand firm as the mountains Trials: There are no trials for the Goldhands. You either contain the blood of Tungdil himself or you are bloodbonded to someone who does. No trials are set in stone to prove your honor or worth. Instead your deeds for the clan will mark you as a valued and honorable Clans-mate. Your deeds may lead to the Presentation of the Coin ceremony. Coin Ceremony: This is a rare ceremony performed only when the Clan leader sees fit. Its goings on are secret and known only to the Clan leader and those who have been a part of the ceremony. Every Goldhand strives to, at some time in his or her life, take part in this ceremony. Burial: There comes a time in every Dwarf’s life when his ancestors call his name and he ceases to walk with his feat on the stone. On a sad occasion such as this the Clan gathers to remember their fallen family member. When a member dies, either naturally or on the field of battle his body is encased in stone. This is done before the next sunrise if possible. Ale and tears flow freely as the family member is remembered for his deeds. His stone sarcophagus is then carried to a sacred resting chamber to be placed with those of his ancestors. While burials are a sad time, Goldhands also know that their friend will be smiling and laughing at them from the great halls of Tungdil. If the deceased’s deeds were truly remarkable it is said that they might even join the sacred halls of the Merchant Father himself. May our history be etched into the stone so it may be as everlasting as our race, and so our deeds may never be forgotten. The Noble House of Goldhand, also known as Clan Goldhand, extends far back into Dwarven history. The line goes back originally to Tungdil Goldhand, the fifth son of Urguan. 2. The Returning Of Thoak After the long anticipated wait for the Goldhands, Thoak Goldhand returns from his long, and treacherous travels. He makes his way down the crumbling path that is overgrown, and leaves the ancient fortress of the Goldhands behind. Thoak passes whats left of Stingard, and makes his way past the forgotten ruins of Fornost. What Thoak bares now, is a burden, and with him honor. Thoak makes his way through the thick cold woods, of Kal'Anart, and onto the Paragons Road. Thoak makes his way onto Mount Ire, the lost, and forgotten fortress that once housed the Dwarves under Kjell Ire'hearts reign of King. Once Thoak reaches the grand gates of Kal'Karik, and pulls from his satchel a coin the shines in the glare of the sunlight. On this coin bares the mark of the Goldhands. Thoak quickly puts the coin back into his scatchel, along with documents, papers, and a few other miscellaneous objects. Once Thoak reaches the grand halls of Karik, he makes his way through the Clan Hall of the Goldhands, and calls for his brothers, and sisters that still remain in Karik to make way for the Clan Hall. ((Note: This is before right before the destruction of Asulon. Goldhand Clan members may now post on here as well, as this will now bare the future for what is to come for the Goldhand Clan.))
  3. Dear Volcano of Elysium. Why did you have to erupt?

  4. Thoak Raises an eyebrow at the Dwarf who is shouting. "An' wot be tae purpose 'o tis guild? Ye cannae just de tae same thing, an' talk oot a local tavern, ur pub an' reminiscent of tae past there?"
  5. Scoffs at Bael's remark toward the election process. "If they nae be 'o Dwarven blood, then we shoold just 'and tae kingdom 'ova to tae 'umans, ur some 'alf bred if ye 'ave a problem with that."
  6. Skype: cindervein Also.. what time region is this? Est, or Pacifice time..?
  7. Shakes his head slightly in disappointment at the crowd around Kjell, and at Kjell's speech. "Paragon, I 'ave fought by ye side in tae Great Orcish Wars, an' 'ave worked with ye durin' ye reign as king, hooever ye be cuasin' more damage than ye ur fixin'." Thoak scratches his chin for a moment that is covered by his beard. "Ye cannae sit, an' talk tae King 'Iebe ova' current problems, an' we cannae 'ave a proper council meetin' unless we 'ave fightin', an' yellin', but instead ye bring up these problems in a rather loud, an' abrupt manner, an' begin tae cause even bigger problems fer tae council, an' tae King tae where they cannae be fixed." Thoak eyes the Dwarves around him and those who crowd around Kjell. "Ye also accuse a clan, an' threaten tae attack 'em. Yer plans, Paragon be notin' but bringin' chaos, and a dark future fer ur brothers, an' sisters. I will nae lie, Paragon but ye did a fine job with tae Legion, an' tae days that ye served ye brother, an' sisters in tae Great Orcish Wars."
  8. Folds his arms for a moment in disappointment, and shakes his head slightly. "Tis be how we settle things? By shoutin' 'em oot 'o tae City? Tis be a disgrace, an' disappointment. I think tis coold 'ave gone better than oot did."
  9. Glances at the coin as Gulroid pulls it out of his robe pocket. "Aye, aye.. I believe I still 'ave me room 'ere from when we stayed 'ere." Thoak gets up from his seat for a moment, and turns his head toward the window, eyeing the night sky from the window of Gulroids room, then glances back down, and over toward Gulroid. "I'll clean up tae fortress maybe, an' de somethin' tae keep tae place warmer. Tis place be colder than tae peaks 'o Moont Ire." Nods for a moment toward Gulroid, and makes his way toward the exit of Gulroids room.
  10. Thoak looks over the council room at the atrocity of what has happen with a look of disgust underneath his beard. He shakes his head for a moment and stays silent, and then folds his arms as he attempts to listen over the shouting, and fighting of the Dwarves in the council room.
  11. What physically stops a Dwarf from learning magic though? All because their clan isn't specified with magic can't physically stop them from studying it.
  12. Thoak leans back in his chair with a slight smirk that can barely be seen underneath his beard. He then brings his arms up and folds them across his chest."Well.. oot be 'ard tae say. I knoo that tae William lad brought tae meetin' together fer a new leader, an' called fer a vote, ur suggested Gorum fer a Clan Leader. Dunnae knoo if that William lad wanted tae Clan Leader position, ur nae."Thoak's smirk slightly decreased under his beard, and he keeps his arms folded. "Tae other lad Hydrose wanted tae folloo in ye footsteps an' take ova' tae Clan. I knoo 'e went fer bein' tae High Merchant, hooever that did nae work oot well fer 'em." Thoak runs his fingers through his beard for a moment. "Eh.. 'ell there coold only be one, ur two who wants tae position 'o Clan Leader. Gorum cannae take tae position because 'e be nae pure blood 'o tae Gold'ands, an' nae one 'as said at tae meetin' that they want tae become tae clan leader besides Hydrose. If oot comes doon to oot, I coold take ova' perhaps an' work some things oot with tae Gold'ands, an' such."
  13. Honestly, I think we should drop most clans, or tell them they cannot grow, or breed. I think if we get rid of most clans which are those who do not have many members, or those who gone inactive we can centralize clan RP more. I think there should be a base of 3 clans for the Dwarven Empire that can grow, and become properly large which could start RP, and centralize it more for the Dwarves. This can also make things easier for new Dwarves, and make them feel welcome perhaps with just 3 clans, even though we haven't gotten any complaints really from new members about picking clans, and such. Also, The Goldhands are not going away at all. Gulroid, Rasun, and I are working on figuring out a new clan leader, and will probably get back on track in 3.0. There would be no reason to add them to the hitlist.
  14. Thoak glances about the room again for a second time. The dark bleak room moves him slightly, almost giving him the shivers. The chill of the night fills the room, and the fireplace only giving both Gulroid, and Thoak warmth. He adjusts his gaze back onto Gulroid listening to the ancient Dwarf ramble on in his current state. Thoak adjusts himself in his seat and raises an eyebrow when Gulroid begins to speak to himself mimicking his father. "Gulroid, I 'ave came tae talk with ye 'boot tae Gold'ands, an' tae future. Obvioosly with ye absents away from Karik, tae Gold'ands ur growing weary 'o yer absense an' wish tae 'ave a new clan father." Thoak pauses for a moment, and adjusts himself once again in his chair, then leans in closer toward Gulroid. "Tae Gold'ands dunnae knoo wot tae de in tis time 'o need. From wot Rasun's son Norak said, Rasun 'as gone missin', ur went on a journey an' never came beck. I 'ave traveled 'ere after ye son Hoff 'ad told us of ye livin' in tae Fortress, an' ye current state, so I set preparations tae come 'ere, an' did so." Thoak leans back in his seat, and scatches his beard for a moment glancing again about the gloomy room. He turns his gaze back onto Gulroid. "Tae Gold'ands ur callin' fer a new leader because 'o ye current state, an' wish tae 'ave a new one, hooever Rasun is nae with us at tae moment.."
  15. Thoak quietly makes his way into the room, and closes the door behind him as he moves in. He shakes his head as he hears Gulroid calling for his son. Thoak then continues to make his way up toward the armchair Gulroid is sitting in and soon standing next to Gulroid in the armchair. "Nae. It be Thoak, lad. I 'ave traveled from Kal'Karik tae see ye, an' tae consult with ye 'boot tae Clan 'o tae Gold'ands." After speaking, Thoak makes his way over to the fire place that contains the dying flame. Thoak grabs ahold of the a prod to poke the fire, and turn the logs over to make the flame grow increasingly. He then sets the prod next to the fire place, and glances around the room for a moment. He turns and grabs onto a chair, and pushes it up next the fireplace and Gulroid, and sits down upon it turning his gaze upon Gulroid.
  16. A Journey for the Goldhands After preparations for the journey to the ancient Fortress of the Goldhands, Thoak steps out of his house for a moment. He looks about the cavern of Kal'Karik, eying the homes of the Dwarves, and those whom be of the Goldhand Clan. Thoak finally makes his way out of the Capitol when mourning appears and the sun peaks over the grand mountains. After making his way past the old farms of Karik, and onto the forgotten 'Paragons' Road. Thoak passes the ruins of Mount Ire, ignoring the eerie and foreboding ruins. Thoak continues his trek on the Paragons Road, and soon on the path toward Kal'Anart. When Thoak makes it to a certain part of the path he makes his way into the woods and approaches an abandon, or what thought to be an abandoned harbor village of the Dwarves. Thoak makes his way past the village and into the thick of the woods not far from the path, or village. After most of the day hiking through the woods, Thoak comes across a small village that was once long abandoned in the Goldhand's territory called Fornost. He follows the broken path for a short awhile and makes it to another abandon hamlet called Stingard. It was overgrown, and mostly destroyed by marauders, and thieves. Memories ran slowly through Thoak's brain as he makes his way through the debris of the hamlet. Soon after making it through the overgrowth, and debris, Thoak continues onto the path. It isn't long until the ancient Fortress is in sight. Night soon approaches upon Thoak as he makes his way to the Fortress. He approaches the wooden gate of the keep. The keep seems to have a darkness looming over it, as if it was abandoned and left to rot. The fortress has been lacking on upkeep, and stone appeared to be chipping off the fortress, and moss growing on the sides of the Fortress walls. Thoak, not suspecting an answer shouts for perhaps a fellow Goldhand, or Gulroid to come to the gates and open them for him, but no answer. The sun begins to set slowly, and night begins to fall upon Thoak still trapped outside. Thoak makes his way around the pond in front of the Fortress remembering the small wharf and the small entrance that led into the Fortress. Thoak makes it around the pond, and across the river and onto the wharf. He quickly makes his way into the entrance of the Fortress. Not expecting much the Fortress itself is worse on the inside than it is on the outside. Fallen masonry littered the court yard, and the overgrowth appears to have taken over much of the area in the court yard, and around the walls of the fortress itself. Thoak walks through the corridors of the Fortress, and makes it up the stairs toward the rooms of his once fellow kin who now are deceased, and of Rasun, and Gulroids room. Thoak moves quickly past Rasun's room that was still, or once was in construction and quickly to the door of Gulroid's. Not much light shines through the dark fortress but moonlight from the outside. Thoak quickly opens the door into Gulroid's room. ((This is basically going to summarize what will happen with the clan, and future plans of the Goldhands. Please note that this information is for an OOC purpose for no OOC confusion is happening. Please do not bring any of this information up if your character does not know what happen ICly.))
  17. *Nods at his fellow Goldhands, and makes his way out of the Clan Hall.*
  18. *Folds his arms for a moment with his face emotionless.* "I'll travel oot to tae Fortress an' speak with Gulroid 'boot tae future 'o tae clan. He 'as tae finale say on tae clan as long as 'e be alive." *Stands up from the stone chair, and slides the chair in.* "I be comin' beck in a few days."
  19. *Motions toward Hoff, and Norak the two young Dwarves in the meeting chambers.* "Those two be Gulroid, an' Rasun's sons. I dunnae think ye where 'ere when they said wot they said, but anyhoo, the brought news that Rasun 'as gone missin' ur, an' Gulroid 'as fallen ill from 'is age."
  20. "Well I can set oot on a journey to tae Gold'and Fortress tae see Gulroid, an' wot 'e 'as tae say. If wot Gulroid's son said be true, an' wot Rasun's son said be true, then there be nae other choice tae see Gulroid 'imself."
  21. *Looks up at Arkenos as he walks into the meeting, he also smirks as the word 'Elves' are brought up.* "Basically we be needin' a new Clan Leader fer tae Gold'ands soon. Gulroid's days seem tae be running short, an' Rasun 'as gone missin'."
  22. *Coughs for a moment, and sputters after seeing the sudden appearance of Gorum, Norak, and Gulroids son who he had never seen before. Thoak moves his gaze up from the table, and eyes those three.* "By tae paragon's beard.. I be glad tae see ye made oot Gorum, an' I be suprised tae see ye Norak, an' ye who claims tae be Gulroids son. I suppose that we 'ave more Gold'ands 'roond than we thought we 'ad. It also be good tae 'ear that Gulroid is still.. 'roond I suppose." *Leans back in his chair for a moment, and twirls his beard for a moment.*
  23. *Twiddles his thumbs for a moment thinking again.* "Oot be 'ard tae 'ave a especially inside tae clan ootself tae 'ave a new clan leader when we dunnae 'ave more than probably two alive members 'roond, unless there is ones 'roond that dunnae 'ave made oot tae tis meetin' unless we 'ave a vote ootside tae clan.
  24. *Runs his fingers through his beard thinking for a moment.* "Eh. I personally think that tis leadership position we vote on 'ill only be temporary until Gulroid ur Rasun shows up. If they dunnae come oot 'o hidin', ur shows up then we can resume 'em dead. Also.. if Gorum does nae show up, ur takes tae offer on tae Gold'ands I can take over tae Goldhands."
  25. "'E stepped doon from his position 'o High Cooncil I 'eard."
