I thought that we wouldn't be forced to PK our chars unless we decided to. There's even a 7 day period to bring back your PK character. Still, genocide sounds like a great idea in theory, and there's probably enough rp reason from the Fringe alone to cause this to happen. But maybe It could be adapted. Not an entire race, but a city or village. And if the city falls, it is destroyed utterly, making it a ruin. People from that city would become refugees, having to search for a new place to call home or hide from those who so ruthlessly drove them out. Just a thought.

Sloppy Note In Alras
Ruonna/Cerafina replied to Booklight12's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
Ruonna walks by the fountain on the way to her house and sees a note. She stops to read it, avoiding the mess at the base of the fountain and then laughs. "Really? How is that possible? Rosso died. Mother even went to Rosso's funeral." She shakes her head in amusement and muses softly "Even if Dan is a bit weird at times, this is a bit much. After all, it's not like the rest of us aren't weird." She goes over the message again and bites her lip, thinking about how such a thing would be possible. After a moment she shrugs and walks on to her house, not sure why someone would even want to become their child, even in theory, or who could be evil enough to steal their own child's life like that. Besides, even if it were true, who would know? It's not like she ever knew Rosso, and she doubts many people in Alras did either. ((also I solved you Cryptogram, but since it's not something she's touch in rp..... *shrug.)) -
I enjoyed the plague, even though I never caught it. Suddenly people stopped you on the road to rp, because no one wants to actually get sick. I even had a guy die in front of me, which was interesting. I didn't have to worry about running into random armies on the road, or walking unsuspectingly into the middle of a battlefield on my way home and being cursed at. Some people went out of their way to avoid you on the road, which was amusing, especially if you met them in a tunnel or narrow bridge. And later so many went out of their way to help distribute the cure and help out. I met some great people because of the rp that the plague caused, People I might not have met otherwise.

While I want more trailers of 4.0, eventually 4.0 will be here, then what will the MT do? I love the ideas of the skits introducing races.Just don't rush them and shorten them unnecessarily because you're trying to get them out before 4.0 Maybe eventually you could do some on subraces, or magic groups like the druids, clerics, etc.

Enough is enough. I don't even want to log in anymore because of this crap. I can walk from the Cloud Temple and pass no less than three armies on my way home. Every town has a gate that blocks the main road with no way around them unless you want to do some ninja like block jumping in some areas. Why do I have to go out of my way to avoid the main road because there are armies camped on it all the time or the gates are locked and no one is manning them? I do actually enjoy the rp that surrounds a war, the prep and anticipation before it, the actual rp that occurs right before a battle, and the rp that occurs when the armies go home, either in victory or defeat. But it just seems to have dissolved into.. well you know what's it's become. A pvp server. Actually, can anyone tell me why the war started in the first place, and what the desired outcome for the war is? Or is there even a reason anymore? quick edit: Have you guys considered the effect such a long drawn out war should have on your nation's economy? Minas to fund a war has to come from somewhere.

1. None of my chars have ever died IC, which is strange considering all the trouble Tali would get into at times. I chalk it up to timely rescues, interventions, and heals by other players. 2. The last time someone seriously attacked one of my chars with the intent to kill/maim? Probably the time Evark almost killed Tali by burning her to teach her a "lesson", or when Kazotar and his friends threatened her life because they thought she assassinated someone. 3. Does weapons training count? Cause I've done that. But otherwise, my chars try not to be involved in fights. Well, on second thought, Ruonna does have a temper and smashed a bottle over a guy's head in a bar recently. 4/5 I always seem to be offline when the raids happen. D: 6/7/8 Besides refusing to help heal a person on occasion, I don't think any of my chars have ever tried to kill someone. Torture, yes. Harm and mutilate, definitely, but never have they intended to kill another.... so far. 9/10. I'm not sure these apply. I was kidnapped and brainwashed once. And captured for slavery another time, but due to the actions of others, I got out of those situations. Basically, though I've played for quite awhile now, I've never been killed in rp, nor had to kill another. And my first (and favorite so far) char was a bit of an idiot who should have died countless times, but never did.

Love Letter Contest - 2000 Minas Prize!
Ruonna/Cerafina replied to Jistuma's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
Ruonna snickers to herself. What will her brother do next to make someone embarrassed? Sitting down in her room, she starts to pen a short note. My darling Beth, Long have I admired you, wishing you would notice me the way that I notice you. Having watched for so long I can no longer keep silent. The way you move as if swaying to an unheard beat, makes me want to grab your hand and move with you. The way you laugh, the sound of pure bells ringing out joyously, makes me want to always see you smile. The way your eyes sparkle in mischief at times, make me want to do all I can to never have them shine with unshed tears. The way you touch me fills my entire being with fire. You send my heart to the heavens ,bring order to my chaos, sanity to my unreason. You make the pain a thing of worth, the trials bearable. The long hard road I travel on is made better by your touch. You came and completed me. All these things and more make my heart flutter and my breath catch when I am in your presence, Adieu my darling until i can see you again. The note is unsigned "Eh, it'll do." she mutters, stuffing it into an envelope and laying it in Daniel's room on his bed. -
Ruonna approaches the shop and opens the door. "Excuse me? But I would like to commission your work." She pauses as she looks around the shop. "I would like for you to make a diamond necklace for me. I have the diamonds that you can use," She smiles, pushing her hair over her shoulder. "And I have heard such good things about your work. There is no need to rush the order." She pauses thinking. "Oh yes, I have a sketch of what I'm wanting, or something similar to it." She hands him a piece of paper. "I really appreciate it. Oh, and do i pay now or on completion?" quick edit The necklace is for a cousin named Alyndra.

What are you listening to right now?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd6MCyiWS7s I am, of course, aware this song premieres in Kingdom Hearts. However, I like the FF cinematics much better. Also, I love Utada's voice. ^.^ -
The Problems Of Living In An Rp Hub
Ruonna/Cerafina replied to PtahWithin's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
Thoughts I've had in Alras recently: Is this person talking to me? Oh.. nope to that person. Wait...where's the last thing the person I'm talking to said? *scrolls up frantically before chat is spammed too much* "Have they replied yet? Did I miss the what they said? *more frantic scrolling* "Ohhh, well that conversation seems interesting.... Crap! I'm supposed to be replying! *resumes rp while listening in on the other conversation* -
Good going, Joe. Props for doing it right and achieving what you wanted. I think there should be some restrictions on magic. Seeing newbies rp as mages is disconcerting. Magic, as well as a few other occupations (such as high level Alchemy), are easy to PG if you're not careful. And as Ahri pointed out, guides only get you so far. For every guide on magic I've read, I've left with tons of questions. What if this happens? Is this possible? Or what about this, should it be done? How do you know when you've crossed a line, if the guide never brings up that particular topic? Where are these people learning magic anyway? Self taught? Self taught should be extremely hard to do, imo. Go learn a new skill by yourself. See how frustrated and confused you get at times. Have a question? Too bad, figure it out for yourself. Now have someone show you what you need help with. Suddenly it makes sense, it's easier. And that question you have? They explained it to you. tl;dr guides aren't enough, you need a teacher.
