  1. Kayrin focuses his eyes on Cirimas as Arnorian and Dranan argue, his icy eyes narrowed. He leans back, putting his hands together and his fingers to his lips, and his expression displays as him thinking. Finally, he nods to Cirimas, looks at Arial to smile at her as well, then looks back at Cirimas. "I would agree to this idea," he says simply, "A triumvirate. I have worked with another ruler before for the short time when Lachlan returned. I can certainly chose to work with two others. Rules I can handle, and discussions will have to be plentiful if this is going to work. It suits the situation nicely, and brings two of the shards of Adunia back together, which is a good thing. It will be complicated for a time, but I am sure that the three of us can learn to work together. I'm glad for this new idea. Bloodshed is the last thing I wanted coming here today."
  2. ((I apologise advance for the typos. I'm on a phone.)) Kayrin shakes his head with a small sigh, "Cirimas made it clear you do not side with Oren, and for a time you acted different. But you continue to offer only one solution when there are plenty of others which will allow for no bloodshed between us. We could rule together, you could work to convince my people you are better suited for the job, you could explain your plans for the future of the land, and you could even work and earn the land." "Time again and again I have tried to explain this to you. This is not the Adunia your father ruled. There is a reason thatbwe no longer take the names Adunia, or Elendil. You have claim to Adunia, yes, but you bear no such claim to Anadune, save that it's people choose to follow you. This is not the land your father ruled, it is the land that the people fought for, and so I leave it to those you despise as Anadunians to decide. "Yout put up this pretense of wanting a peacefulsolution yet chose not to consider the many ways it could be solved. Like Oren did to Urguan those years before, claiming they wanted peace but requiring surrender. Like the Dwarves I cannot accept that choice, and you refuse to see the options." Kayrin rubs the bridge of his nose, hesitating, "if you want to negotiate, why not explain what would make you a better ruler than I, and why not tell it to my people. I see nofurther reason for discussion if you will only demand, not do what I believe you claimed we would and negotiate."
  3. Kayrin would never see the spittle, as it is not actually there by some strange reversing magic. ((You're a noodle Tape. Ilum8))
  4. Kayrin sighs and bows his head slowly. "If only things were so simple," he murmurs slowly and sadly. "If only it would be over sooner rather than later."
  5. Kayrin studies Dranan quietly, his eyes thoughtful. "I believe that what Arial says makes sense. We should say our cases before questioning the others. However, if you insist on my response, I will tell you. "For many, many years now, since the Split of Adunia, my people have been working toward independence and their own land, a land to call home. We have struggled and toiled, from one dilema to the next, and from one trial to another. It is my people who earned this land from the dwarves doing everything they could to remedy the issue with Oren. In exchange, Urguan gave us Brom Krah as our own, a land that we could call free and independent. This land no longer belongs to any former owner. It does not belong to Lachlan, nor does it belong to Adunians as a whole. It belongs to these few Adunians who worked to earn it, not to those who left it in dispute. They have asked that I remain their lord. I gave you the answer to this problem when you came to me that long time ago. Until my people ask me to step down, and put you in my place, I will not stand down."

  7. Telanir, thank you for all the time and effort you put into making the server the incredible acomplishment it is. I sincerely wish I had gotten to know you better. What I have seen of you has been someone so willing to make sacrifices for yourself in order to better the experience of others, despite confusion hardship and discomfort. You are truly an inspiration to fairly new moderators like myself. I wish with my upmost hopes that your business can find sucess and that your schooling can go well. Good luck in life and in love!
  8. I apologize, and I understand the idea behind it is noble and good... but I agree with TMoore. This is one of those topics it probably isn't good to debate. I'm very sorry. Usually I would be the first one to advocate discussion, but some of the comments made here can seriously hurt homosexuals, even if it's all in good discussion. If you want to have this discussion with someone, do it in private please. Thank you.
  9. Kayrin stands as the Grand King and the Lords of Urguan enter, nodding respectfully to each in turn, his first nod to the Grand King slightly lower than the others because of his rank, before returning to his seat. He leans backwards slightly in his seat, putting his chin on his hand to quietly watch the others, and his eyes move between Arial, to Dranan, before returning to Wulfgar as he speaks. He listens patiently, nodding his head in agreement at what is said, then saying lowly, though loud enough that the people at the table can hear, "i share your hope, Your Majesty. With any luck peace will be found."

  11. Kayrin sighs and then enters, studying the hall silently to see who sits at the table. As his people sit, Kayrin choses his own spot, seating Arnorian on one side and Arial at the other. Beyond them are Eideard and Nestor, then the others where they may. He touches nothing, only watching the other Adunians in thoughtful silence.
  12. Kayrin nods his head slightly, remaining relaxed, and somewhat pained, "I understand, though it is sad. I wish more of you had given it a chance, at the least when Lachlan had returned. I do not fault you for your decision, it is your decision. It is the primary reason I created Anadune, not Adunia, and the reason I took the name Earendil. I would not stop you from creating your own Adunia, ruled by Elendils. Let us hope that this can find a peaceful solution." He glances at Arial and nods again, "You are right, I apologize. I have always been curious what happened to Derek and his followers. I suppose I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me. My mistake." His eyes return to Cirimas, "Perhaps we may speak more later."
  13. Kayrin looks to Cirimas, studying him quietly, "I apologize if I assumed, but I was under the impression that the only Adunians who were not with Anadune were with Oren. If you are not, then that is a small amount more reassuring. Still, I stand in my place, as I have not heard of such a third faction before now, and I wonder that you return now. Where have you been all this time?"
  14. Kayrin watches Dranan quietly as he exits the hall, his hands moving to rest on the small of his back. He listens patiently, but when Dranan finishes he shakes his head, "First of all, young one, if you intend for these talks to go anywhere, you should respect your opponent with his proper name, not attempts at insults. As for the matter of our men leaving, we shall have to see. I require Arial at the least remains for the talks. She is a neutral party, and has been a fine advisor to me in the past. Most of all, however, Dranan, you must convince my people that you belong on the throne. If you intend to rule them, this you must do, unless you intend to give the land to Oren." Kayrin sighs, "For now, it will be interesting to see how they all are together. We will enter then."
  15. Kayrin looks to Arial and shakes his head, "Dranan still must prove himself to Anadune. If my people do not enter, neither do I. We wait to speak with him."
  16. Kayrin stops, studying the man, "What Dranan wishes to say to me, he may say to my people. It is they he wishes to rule, after all. He and I have spoken already, so I see no reason this conversation will not end the same. He will serve me an ultimatum: surrender to a trial for my apparent crimes, or he will fight. If he truly wants peace, he will speak to my people. Bring him out, let him decide."
  17. Kayrin hadn't arrived yet... but he and those who chose to follow will arrive now. Kayrin strides ahead, walking calmly, the Circlet of Harren placed carefully on his brow.
  18. ((Actually I was just pointing out the other Douglas' ))
  19. Kayrin would point out Alex and Elly as well, annd Cymrych out adventuring.
  20. Kayrin holds the letter in his hand, placing it on the stand before him. Those Adunians who call themselves the People of Anadune stand around him, and he looks at each one in silence. His face betrays him: pained and resigned. "So it begins," he says quietly, "You chose, the most of you, to ignore his petition, and I agreed with your choice. You made the decision as he, nor any of the Adunians who left us, had no right to decide who ruled Anadune. It is not, after all, Adunia - not the Adunia that once was. That Adunia was known for rebellion and strife. You all chose to follow me, and follow me you have. I am glad for that. I want no bloodshed, we are people of peace. I have promised you all that I will do everything I can to promote and protect that peace. Arnorian has done the same. I do not know Dranan's intent with our land, or why he cannot be content with land with his Orenians, but I know this. You fought for this land just as much as I, and it is your toil that has brought us to this point. If you continue to stand with me, I ask you to join me here." His gaze moves to Arial, "I understand you chose neutrality, but that is even more a reason to come forward now and attend this meeting. I want your truthful opinion. I want this meeting to prove without a shadow of a doubt whom you support as your leader. I want to see Dranan's explanation of what he can do, and what he will do for you. You know me, and you know my plans, but I intend to explain those as well. I pray to the Three that these meetings will bring no bloodshed." With that, Kayrin straightens from leaning over the table and begins his preparations.
  21. Kayrin shrugs, leaning back in his seat, his expression gentle. "I have done nothing except that my people request it of me. They asked me to demolish and rebuild the city and I did so. They asked me to accept Lachlan as my partner and I did so until he left again. They wanted independence for Adunians, I tried to find somewhere for us to travel to, then when the misunderstanding of BromKrah occurred, we managed to earn it from the dwarves. I have built the town for them with my own strength and diligence. They wished to have clarification between the Highlanders and Northernors, and clarification between the Orenian Elendils and the Elendils of Anadune. I let the orenians keep the names I knew they would begrudge me for taking. I have done everything my people have asked of me to the best of my ability. If the majority of those who have stood by me through these hardships come forward and ask me to step down, I will oblige them. However I will not stand on trial for doing what my people asked of me. If Dranan were in my position he would say the same." Kayrin stands, looking at the man before him, "While I understand the complaints that those outside Anadune may have, you have not earned my loyalty, and you have not even seen fit to allow me a chance. Until that changes, I do not see why I should do as you ask me. Dranan comes forward and claims that he has a right to rule Anadune, but I have asked the same of him. What has he done to earn his place here? The People of Anadune have earned this land, he was not here to work for it. I have asked him to earn his place and he refuses as it is his birthright, for no other reason. I only ask that he prove himself. "Dranan has required surrender, he will not negotiate with me much as Oren refused to negotiate with the dwarves. He will not accept my offer to name him my heir, nor even the offer to rule at my side. Arnorian has done much good in his years serving beneath me, and I see no reason he should not be forgiven for past mistakes, yet Dranan calls for his blood as well. That is all Dranan has shown he wants: bloodshed and war. "Anadune since it's creation has only ever wanted peace, yet the Adunians outside of it continue to force battle on us on claims that we stole what was theirs. What we have we were given. The other outside Adunians left for their precious Oren. Those who remain have earned this land for their own, and until they come to me, I will not stand down." Kayrin sighs and returns to sitting on the throne, sighing, "I apologize that you disagree, but this is how I have felt since Deanan came before me. That we disagree is unfortunate, but that is how life has been since it began. I will give nothing to Dranan unless those under me request it of me. For none other will I do it."
  22. ((I figured even if I end up kicked out, may as well keep doing my best until the end.))
  23. A post is made upon the Anadune board, announcing the coming festivals that have been put into motion. They are categorized into Major and Minor Festivals, all of which shall be taking place in Anadune on the dates mentioned. The list also includes a short description of what shall take place. Major Festivals Tulene : Festival of Rebirth and Rivalries ((Sat. April 3rd)) The planting season is coming, and so is the beautiful spring. The Festival of Rebirth and Rivalries consists primarily of many different celebrations of life. However, the main event are the events, which will be the competitions between Adunian clans - Anadunians and Adenians alike are pitted head-to-head to see who are the better competiters. The winner is awarded a prize which they may carry with pride or display with their clans. Non-Adunians are welcome to participate, but before you may compete in an event you must declare your intention to fight for either side. Come join in the fun of the Spring Festival Loende : Festival of the Three and Remembrance ((Sat. July 3rd)) Midsummer is around the corner, and this is the time for Adunians to enjoy their worship of the Three. This is primarily a religious festival, and is dedicated to worship. This will be headed by the Archfather, and will also involve a good amount of story-telling. It is a time for remembering the stories of ancestors who have come before, and honoring their glories. Yavere : Festival of Art and the Harvest ((Sat. October 4th)) The well-loved Harvest Festival! Come hungry, for this is a festival in which is celebrated the glory of the food we can bring from the ground. This is also the festival of Art, and that cannot be stressed enough. While this comes at the time where the Harvest is most celebrate, this is also the time for all entertainers. This is also the time for playwrights, as there is expected to be several plays. Whether they are comedic, dramatic, tragedies, or histories, bring them and your actors, and enjoy the show! Mettane : Festival of Peace ((December 31st)) This is the last Major Festival of the year, and one of the best. This festival is to celebrate yet another year gone by where Adunians survive. Better still, this is also called the Grand Festival of Adunia, for this elven week encompasses two festivals in one. The first is Mettane, in which is celebrated peace. This can be celebrated in many ways, and is usually not revealed until the date itself. The true glory of this Grand Festival comes with the second part. Yestare : Festival of Survival ((Jan. 1st and the weekend after)) This is one of the favorite festivals of the year! It celebrates all that Adunians have conquered and all that they will. This will be celebrated with a tournament involving a large maze construct. Participates will compete individually, unlike at the Festival of Rivals, and they must compete to the last man. Whether killed by accidents, monsters, or eachother, each contestant will be given items at the start, as well as items hidden in the maze itself, in order to help them compete. Each stage of the tournament has a certain number of contestants, and there is one stage each day of the festival. This is the ultimate test of strength, and the winner is awarded minas, and the title of the Survivalist for the year. Minor Festivals These shall be inserted as their date comes around. Festival of Rain ((Next Saturday)) - Day long. Consists of huge duels in water.
  24. Kayrin shrugs and waves him off, "I never demand people stay, it is their choice. If all you're going to do is stand here and explain why you dislike me, join the many others who chose to leave for Oren. I'm not keeping anyone here. If they stay, it is their choice. The fact of the matter is, I have been told that I should stay. Until that changes from the people who helped me to build this society, I don't intend to leave. You've said your piece. Unless you intend to have a good calm and understanding discussion, I see no reason for you to stay."
  25. I'm starting to wonder why I continue to try so hard. Really, why do I do it?
