I still disagree with how the state handles marriage(in Canada and America), and am unsure of why anyone would want to get married with the other laws surrounding marriage. See Ron Paul's stance on marriage for my opinion on the whole thing, it's silly that the government should have so much control. I'm very right wing and have always supported gay marriage and equal rights, because I support freedom, even with the above stated. I see no logical reason for gays not to get married like everyone else. Now, those were my more political views on the subject, but my personal view on gays is, well, they never seem to have a problem living up to stereotypes. I'm sure there are some gay people out there I would be chill with, but every one I've met so far is just... Annoying.
For some reason the subject of trans was brought up, and again I'm conservative, so I support their freedom to do whatever they want as long as you aren't hurting others. However, what I'm very against, is the state(in Canada not sure about USA) paying for the mutilation surgeries these people get. Why? I'm against government healthcare overall, but was especially pissed about this. It isn't a need, it's a want. Why should my tax money go towards what these people want? It would be the same if the government started paying for cosmetic surgery or something, if you don't need it, GTFO and pay for it yourself. Also, me not wanting to be around you because you're trans is just as natural to me as you wanting to be another gender. I feel as if I was born being grossed out, so don't start discriminating against me for not wanting to be around you, I'm just grossed out by you and have been since I was a child.
