  1. ((There are more than 4 different meanings for the word, I'm not sure it really matters at this point.))
  2. ((My character is using the word to make this seem official, not for proper use of the word. This is RP after all. I also have to note that the word vicar means someone who acts as an agent for a superior.))
  3. ((I assume that this isn't just some poster in Salvus and more like a book or invitation.))
  4. ((Please use OOC marks. You see I am aware that nobody is a hunchback but I'm simply expecting people interested in making a character so they can write the letter. I suppose just create the character and apply RPly. There will be an interview. Also can an FM move this to the Human Roleplay section?))
  5. Anyone want to roleplay a hunchback?

  6. A small neatly signed letter is posted on the human noticeboards. It reads in fine print. "Royal Chaplain of Salvus, Edward is looking for a suitable hunchback to be the servant of Edward. Details will be specified upon further inquiry. If interested leave a small letter below or send a bird to the Royal Chaplain of Salvus." ((OOC Part:)) Are you looking for fun RP and a specific role for a hunchback? Then this is the correct place for you. I would prefer experienced and active roleplayers only please. Preferably Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern timezones. 2c is PEFERRED but NOT nessecary.
  7. Taking the forums by storm.

  8. Royal Chaplain Edward is brought a small letter concerning the crown authority. After quickly scanning over it, Edward gives a sharp nod of approval but mumbles to himself about the lack of ability to sign in agreement. "I'll be sure to send Lord Chivay my best regards for such a wise request."
  9. A Leftenburgian magistrate strolls over to the poster board and quickly gets out some wax and melts a seal onto the paper. It is clearly a seal of acceptance.
  10. Okay you know what, okay evolutionism might not exist, it is just a theory after all. Though there is one thing I have to say. There is no evidence behind Creationism at all. It is something based purely off of belief. You can believe just that, and I would understand it if we lacked the knowledge that theory of Evolutionism brought. I am rather religious, but I view these sort of things as synonyms for evolutionism. The entire simplified idea of creationism simply can't exist. Anyone seriously arguing for Creationism has nothing to prove it.
  11. Edward strolls along the Malinor roads, casually looking around the notice boards. Either to find destruction from the raids. He spots this letter and shrugs nonchalantly. Edward hurries to a local inn, grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill and jotting down a note. Edward posts it under the letter, it reads. "Make Malinor a Prince-Bishopric. I guarantee only good things shall come from it. -His Grace, the Court Chaplain of Salvus Edward"

What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: My three months on LoTC combined with my previous experience on smaller roleplaying servers. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Roleplaying is when you imagine that you are different person in a different world not at all linked to what you are really doing. It is when you fully embody that character and act as if you are that Character. It creates a whole other level of gaming immersion. Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is using real world references while roleplaying. Power-emoting: Power-emoting is saying what or how someone responds or does without their consent. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Gunther von Wullersleben Current Age: 38 Race: Human Sub-race (if any): Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): The Leftebürgian people began with Adalbert Kö***, an extravagant trader and bürger. He led some fellow Hansetian colonists left Aegis, following it’s destruction. On a small ship called The Hildebert, the colonists suffered a long and hard journey, faced with storms that came from Aegis, storms never seen by mankind before. They ran out of fresh food in the first week, having to survive on pest-ridden hard tack. After many a day, the colonists made it to the new land. They veered off course many a mile and found themselves lost in the far north. They created a small town of Königsville. Adalbert was a corrupt man, barely keeping watch over his town, he chose to use the bribes from the merchants for cheap trading permits on his personal mansion. One month afterwards, Adalbert died with no legitimate heir, they decided that the town council should elect a bürgermeister of Königsville. So the new bürgermeister was chosen, the head of the council. His name was Heinrich von Wüllersleben, he ruled wisely, he endorsed merchant guilds and in return they gave him guards for the town. This caused low taxes and a strong trade, the town of Königsville was prospering. Heinrich realized that the town should not be named after the corrupt man that is not Adalbert but instead name it something more creative. Next day, he passed the reform for the name of town, changing it to Leftenbürg. The vote was barely passed as the grand bürgers were mainly concerned on preserving the status quo. The town prospered much and opened its ports to the other human traders. Heinrich eventually succumbed to the plague from some human leather merchants, unfortunately the doctors had never seen anything like this so they couldn’t stop the spread. Soon many of the inhabitants died of the horrid plague as it swept through the land. There was about 5 bürgermeisters picked in just those short years. Civil war came as the grandson of the illegitimate son of Adalbert Kö***, Gerhard von Kerpen and his small militia, declared war against Leftenbürg. Gerhard wanted to create Leftenbürg as a barony, such as his great grandfather had. Merchant guilds and their private navies and militaries had to choose sides, many choosing to side with bürgermeister to preserve their trading rights. After a long two year war, dubbed by historians as the Coin War, due to the fact that most of it was fought by mercenaries and merchant’s private militias. After a while, the town grew and grew, a couple new bürgermeisters were chosen, some good, some bad. Leftenbürg seemed like a paradise, but this wouldn’t last. The destruction of Asulon was imminent. The town was completely caught in surprise by this and tried to flee, many were left behind. Some survivors were the remnants of the great Wüllersleben family, they fled on different merchant ships. The family was lost, many died on the way to the new land of Elysium. The ones that did survive were spread across the whole island, unable to find each other. Günther von Wüllersleben, able to survive as a petty merchant, traveling across Elysium, searching for family members. Upon the discovery of Kalos, Günther took the mighty human ship to Oren. When he had found Oren he immediately had the undying dream of recreating the Grand Stadtgemeinde of Leftenbürg. Ambitions for the Future: To found the Grand Stadtgemeinde of Leftenburg. Personality: Gunther is a rather greedy individual, driven by money to create his dream government, where status is chosen by coin, not bloodlines. He also is quite diligent and ambitious. Skills: A good administrator, definitely a diligent worker. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Any other details you wish to share about your character: None
  17. Well I have a Valyrian steel blade... so I deserve it to be enchanted... HMPH
  18. ((We should probably also make a provincial map of Oren, this seems to be more of a Map of Vassalage. Splitting Oren into de jure provinces would be very helpful.))
  19. ((I'm still puzzled how it is an "Imperial" City-state, it is not ruled by an Emperor nor is it an Empire.))
  20. The funeral starts to begin, the prayers are said for the young man who died last evening. His name was Gunther von Wullersleben, though few people knew him, the great mayor of Leftenburg passed away before he could give his people the promised land. As his will was read it stated that Artus Arryn will be the next mayor, as the town is too disorganized for an election. Gunther hopes that Artus will lead his people to greatness. Gunther has said to have died after a short period of illness and was found dead in his bed.
